Chapter 331
Chapter 331
Landon and Tuff were stunned to learn that Monica was telling the truth. The biggest secret of the Mystic Sect was a deceased woman, Charles, the wita of Monroe and the mother of Monica, the daughter of the Kyle family from the Kington Gang.
Inside a specially crafted crystal coffin, Charlee appeared breathtaking, her cheeks rosy as if she were sleeping soundly. “Is she dead, for real?” Tuff
blinked in disbelief.
Monica sobbed, crying out to the crystal coffin, “Mommy, Mommy…”
“What’s wrong with her?” Night Owl asked.
Monica despised the woman who had hypnotized her, but with her beloved Paul still in their grasp, she felt compelled to acquiesce. “My mommy is sick. That’s why she’s been sleeping here for over ten years,” Monica said, her voice heavy with sorrow.
‘After all these years, her body still looked flawless. Was it a mystic power or simply advanced technology?‘ Night Owl pondered.
“Please, don’t disturb my mommy!” Monica sobbed uncontrollably, her voice quaking with fear as her eyes remained fixed on Charlee inside the crystal coffin. It was a heart–wrenching expression of a child’s instinctive need to protect her mother.
Tuff asked Landon, “What now?”
“We shouldn’t bring up the past, but…” Landon frowned deeply, “This is our only chance to win.” They need to identify Monroe’s weakness if they want to
succeed.
“That’s right! When it’s time to fight, there’s no place for mercy.” Tuff strode confidently toward the crystal coffin without a moment’s hesitation.
There was a switch that controlled the preservation system inside. If it pressed it, the preservation would fail, and Charlee would turn to dust. Of course, destroying her body wasn’t his intention.
“Stop!” Monroe shouted in panic, and then two figures came running in.
Same height, same face–if it weren’t for their different clothes, one might think they were seeing the same person. “Daddy?” Monica blurted out, then froze. “Wait, two daddies?” She couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked at two identical figures.
“Monica, I’m your daddy, too,” Marvel introduced himself. “Your daddy and I are twins.”
“What?” Monica blinked continuously. “Daddy, is that for real?”
“Yes.” Monroe nodded. “It wasn’t just me by your side as you were growing up–my brother was there too. Whenever I was busy, he was the one taking care of you.”
Fear settled within Monica. ‘Daddy was always there when I was growing up. I truly believed he didn’t even have a job.‘
Charlee told Monica that the boss didn’t have to work every day, and that explanation had been enough–at least for a while. Only later did the truth surface: there had been two fathers all along. Yet no one had ever spoken of it, keeping the matter shrouded in secrecy.
“Monica, this isn’t the right time for that,” Monroe interrupted, casting an angry glance at Landon. “What’s going on with you?”
“Why don’t you share your thoughts, Mr. Montgomery?” Landon retorted.
Monroe snapped, “You never lost your memory!”
“That’s right,” Landon replied.
“So you weren’t under the love spell either?” Monroe pressed.
“That’s right,” Landon replied.

Chapter 331
Monroe felt a buzzing sensation in his head. He never imagined, not in a million years, that he would fall for Landon’s trick. He was the one who had sen people to perform the surgery on Landon, and he had even witnessed Landon swallow the love spell with his own eyes.
“Daddy, please! Save me, save Mommy, save my husband…” Monica sobbed, her voice shaking with desperation. Even now, she still referred to Paul as her husband.
Monroe took a deep breath, barely managing to suppress his rage. At this point, the only way to change the situation was to unleash his abilities: However, recalling how his powers had let him down during his last encounter with Landon at home, Monroe no longer felt confident.
Marvel, encountering Landon for the first time, couldn’t help but size him up. “Just tell me what you want. What’s your price?” Monroe demanded.
“Shut down the Mystic Sect, and one of you brothers will take the fall,” Landon said coldly. Monroe’s gaze was as chilling as frost and as sharp as a blade -if looks could kill, Landon would have been dead on the spot.
Monica spoke softly, “Daddy, I’m sorry… I don’t know what they did to me, but I ended up spilling everything…
“It was hypnosis,” Monroe said, taking a deep breath and finally resigning himself to the fact that he could no longer use his powers to manipulate time.
Night Owl stepped out, took off her hat, showing her pale face. “Yeah, that was me.”
“So you used hypnosis on my people to gain access?” Monroe cast a cautious glance at Night Owl.
His powers were nearly unbeatable–except against advanced psychics with hypnotic abilities, specifically those possessing supernatural hypnotic
powers.
Hypnotizing an entire crowd was no longer just a parlor trick; it had become a genuine psychic ability. He had always dreamed of meeting someone with powers like that.
“Mr. Montgomery, your powers do not affect me,” Night Owl stated, her voice calm and steady, like a stream of ice water. Monroe couldn’t even bring himself to meet her gaze.
He turned to glare at Landon. “You know anything said under hypnosis doesn’t count as real evidence.”
“That’s true for regular law, but not for the Flying Tiger Sect,” Landon retorted. “We’re going to re–investigate everything Monica said. Do you think you can handle that?”
Monroe fell silent. The Mystic Sect was an illegal operation, deeply involved in numerous inhumane acts. There was no way it could withstand a serious investigation. But simply rolling over and taking the fall was something he couldn’t bear.
“Monroe, everything you’ve done–all your schemes–was just to bring your wife back, wasn’t it?” Tuff said, his hand hovering just above the button. “So tell me, what will happen if I press this?”
“Do you dare?” Monroe and Marvel both shouted in unison.
“As long as you both turn yourselves in, I won’t touch the crystal coffin,” Tuff stated. He had not thought that the most significant vulnerability of the Montgomery brothers was a corpse. Fortunately, he had brought Night Owl along tonight, disguised as a food delivery person. With the Montgomery family’s security down, they hypnotized Monica and captured Paul,
“Tuff, if you destroy the crystal coffin, nobody in here is getting out,” Marvel warned. “I heard you’re some bomb expert? Take a good look–this place is packed with traps.”
Tuff’s eyes flickered around anxiously, and his heart raced. The brothers had rigged the entire area with explosives to safeguard the crystal coffin. If the coffin were damaged, those bombs would obliterate the place.
“I recognized your tricks from the very beginning. We’re on a mission, ready to sacrifice everything for the greater good. But what about you–are you truly prepared to risk your wife’s life? And your daughter is right here, too. Are you genuinely going to endanger her as well?” Tuff chuckled, completely
unfazed.
Monroe sneered. “So brave, huh? But what about your own families? Don’t you care about them?”

“The only way our families will find peace is by eradicating the Mystic Sect,” Landon said. “Before I arrived here, I had already said goodbye to my Honey.”
“I don’t believe it!” Monroe shouted. “You’re just pretending. Come on, you’re human too–there’s no way you could leave your wife and kids Behind
“We’re not like you,” Landon said, shaking his head. “Monroe, enough talk. Make your choice–either you turn yourselves in and give Monica a chance to live, or we all die here together.”
Monroe’s entire body shook visibly, evident to everyone around him. His fists were clenched tightly at his sides, burning with rage, while he fett utterly powerless. Monroe let out a primal howl, his scream reverberating throughout the room.
Night Owl sighed in frustration, approached Tuff, and took the button from him. “You all need to get out of here. I’ll take care of this. It’s not like I was counting on making it out alive anyway.”
