Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Kieran quickly took a few steps back and spun around, only to find Diana standing there.
Her brow was furrowed, her gaze sharp and filled with suspicion.
It was clear she was far from pleased with the unfolding scene.
Kieran hurriedly sprinted towards her, stammering an explanation, “Diana, it’s not. what you think. I was just… thinking about all my mom’s done for me over the years, I got a bit emotional.” His voice was unsteady, and his
face flushed crimson with embarrassment.
But Diana’s eyes remained fixed between them, moving back and forth. “Even if you’re emotional, it doesn’t mean you need to hug her like this, does it?”
At that moment, Alice had had enough, a possessive gleam flashing in her eyes.
To her, Kieran wasn’t just her son-he was her
1/4
exclusive property, and no girl had the right to question that.
In her mind, after all, a daughter-in-law shouldn’t challenge the elders.
Her voice dripped with sweet allure, but every word was laced with sharpness.
“Diana, darling, we are mother and son. No matter how jealous you are, you can’t be envious of us, can you? Kieran was just expressing his gratitude for everything I’ve done. It was just an embrace, dear. Don’t get so worked up. Kieran is a good pup, I know, but you shouldn’t project your insecurities here.”
Alice spoke softly, but Diana wasn’t having any
of it.
Her face flushed red, fists clenched tightly.
When she spoke, her voice sliced through the air like a dagger.
“I haven’t even married into this family yet, and I’m being treated like this? Kieran, didn’t you tell me your mom was a refined, elegant

woman? Someone classy, gentle, and wise?” She turned to Alice, “What kind of adult clings to their son like this? Do you think he’s still a three-year-old pup? Haven’t you ever heard. of boundaries? Or did your so-called graceful mother never teach you about them?”
Alice’s sugar-coated words had met their match, and Diana was clearly not backing
down.
Kieran found himself in the eye of the storm,
caught between his new mate and his
possessive mother, looking like he was about to blow his top.
He pulled Diana aside, his voice stern and
disappointed, “Diana, that was too harsh. Mom’s taken care of me for years, and you should be more understanding. Don’t forget, from now on, she’s also your elder, and you
shouldn’t speak back to her like that.”
Diana looked at him in shock, her lips slightly parted, her face flushed not just with embarrassment, but with fury.
She hadn’t even set foot in the family, and
3/4
Kieran was already opposing her, all because of
his mother.
Then, with fire in her eyes, Diana raised her hand and slapped Kieran hard across the face.
“I’m not even married to you yet, and this is how you treat me?” she snapped. “Moon Goddess, how did I end up with such a mama’s boy?”
