Joanna’s baby bump had become increasingly noticeable, and her pregnancy was now unmistakable. Daniel felt a surge of happiness every time he looked at her.
Giovanna teased, “You’re getting more and more hopeless.”
“The Hughes family is loaded. I can take it easy,” Daniel replied nonchalantly.
“Amy’s back.” Giovanna said.
Daniel jerked upright, surprised. “When?”
“Yesterday,” Giovanna shrugged. “What, Joanna didn’t tell you?”
“No… What does that have to do with her?” His expression grew darker. ‘Is Joanna meddling again?‘ Daniel wondered.
Giovanna said, “She was a tremendous help this time. I assumed she would have already informed you.” Daniel let out a sigh of relief and reached for his phone to call Amelia.
“No need to call her; I’m here today to explain what happened.” Giovanna then detailed how Joanna had leaked the secret and how the Mystic Sect had been compromised.
Daniel was initially happy, but then he grew quiet. While he was pleased that they succeeded, it hurt that he wasn’t involved. I stepped back for Edith, but not being able to assist Amelia… Daniel thought bitterly.
“They’re coming to the wedding, so why the long face?” teased Giovana, her tone dripping with mockery.
“I’m sorry for Amy…” Daniel sighed again. ‘If Mom were watching from above, she’d probably be disappointed in me. I chose Edith over Amelia, Daniel thought.
Seeing how troubled he was, Giovanna finally stopped teasing him and offered some comfort. “Amy has her husband to look after her now. It’s your responsibility to care for your wife.”
Yet Daniel couldn’t shake off his sadness. “If the Zuckerberg family welcomes a new member soon, she will be so excited,” Giovanna said.
That finally made Daniel perk up a bit. “Really?”
“She sees you both as her own. Of course, she wants you to be happy,” Giovanna replied.
“What are you two talking about?” Edith asked as she walked in with a tray of freshly squeezed juice. She first handed Daniel his glass, then gave one to Giovanna. It was clear from this order who she favored most.
Giovanna smiled. “Amy is coming back.”
“Amy?” Edith’s face lit up. “When?”
“For your wedding, Giovanna replied.
“Oh, so it’s still a while…” Edith’s face fell. “It’s been ages since I last saw her.”
Giovanna said, “She’s got her hands full–juggling her husband, kids, and mother–in–law. Someday, that’ll be you,
too.”
“Well…” Edith hesitated. She shuddered at the thought of Joanna.

Daniel shot Giovanna a look. “Stop scaring her.”
“Geez, you’re protective,” Giovanna said as she got up. “Anyway, I just came to deliver the good news. See you at the wedding!”
Edith glared at Daniel, annoyed. “Why are you being so harsh to her?”
“I wasn’t…” Daniel protested.
“You chased her of Edith snapped.
Daniel was at his wits end, speechless–he was trying to protect her.
“Giovanna’s your cousin and my friend. Don’t be like that to her next time,” Edith huffed, hands on her hips.
Daniel sighed. “Got it, Honey.”

“Amelia’s coming back. Make sure her room is ready, and get the nanny’s room set up too,” Edith ordered, and the butler. immediately went to carry out her instructions.
Daniel didn’t have to worry about a thing when it came to running the household. Just a week until the wedding, and he’d finally get to see Amelia and Kimsey again.
“Mr. Zuckerberg, someone from the Flying Tiger Sect is here to see you,” the butler said, rushing in.
Daniel blinked in surprise. “The Flying Tiger Sect?”
Half an hour later, Daniel met Morgan and an older man who bore a resemblance to him. Although his hair and beard were gray, he possessed a commanding presence, reminiscent of a seasoned military leader. One glance at him inspired a profound sense of respect.
“Dr. Mitchell, who is this?” Daniel asked.
I’m also Mitchell. I’m Landon’s mentor,” the older man said, stroking his beard as he sized Daniel up.
Daniel quickly greeted him. “Hello, Mr. Mitchell!”
“Mr. Zuckerberg, do you know where Joanna is right now?” Larry asked.
Daniel hesitated for a moment before replying, “Honestly, I haven’t kept up with her lately, so I don’t know where she is. Mr. Mitchell, is she in trouble again?”
“No,” Larry shook his head. “I’m sure you’ve heard about what happened with the Mystic Sect, so I’ll be honest with you. Some of the individuals we sent back have demonstrated unusual abilities, and I need to investigate this further.”
“Unusual abilities?” Daniel’s heart skipped a beat. “Mr. Mitchell, sorry, but I don’t get what you’re saying.”
“Monroe’s got superpowers, and he’s been secretly scouting for others like him all over the world,” Larry explained.
“Some of those people have superpowers?” Daniel asked, his voice trembling.
“That’s right,” Larry confirmed.
Daniel took a sip of water to steady his nerves before asking, “What kind of powers are we talking about?”
“Some can read ten lines at a glance with perfect memory, and others can manipulate people’s minds… They’re all pretty incredible,” Larry said.

“How do they stack up against Monroe?” Daniel asked.
“They’re about as powerful, but they lack his cunning.” Larry replied.
Daniel let out a sigh of relief. “As long as they’re not as smart as Monroe, that’s something.”
“Mr. Zuckerberg, could you help us reach out to Joanna and have her drop by the Flying Tiger Sect?” Larry asked.

Daniel hesitated, unsure of what to say. He had promised to let Joanna go, and bringing her back to Lunova only to face interrogation by the Flying Tiger Sect would have gone against that promise.
Morgan and Larry exchanged glances, and Morgan said, “Among the stuff we brought back, there’s something she might
want to see.”
“What is it?” Daniel asked.
“A clone specimen,” Morgan replied.
Daniel was horrified. ‘Are there a bunch of cloned Porters out there?‘ he thought, reeling. Just the thought of ten identical Porters standing in front of him was enough to make Daniel’s head spin.
Morgan stuck him with a needle, and Daniel let out a yelp of pain. “Relax, Mr. Zuckerberg, you’re not dreaming or hearing things. Morgan said with a grin.
“Who are those clone samples?” Daniel asked, his voice trembling.
“Many clones exist–some failed and retained, while others are still in the experimental phase. Monroe mentioned that the most successful clone was created using your father’s cells, and it is currently with Joanna. We hope she can bring the clone back for further investigation.”
Daniel was torn. All Joanna ever wanted was Porter’s love–even if it were just an illusion, she’d still cling to it. If they took away the cloned Porter, she’d probably break down.
After weighing his options, he shook his head at Larry. “Sorry, I can’t find her either.”
“Looks like Landon will have to tough it out a bit longer. We can’t let him quit just yet,” Larry sighed.
Daniel blinked in surprise. “Landon wants to resign?”
“That’s right, Larry replied. “But with everything going on, the group still needs him.”
Daniel fell silent. ‘Landon must be doing all this for Amy–just wants to quit the Flying Tiger Sect and finally live like a regular guy: Daniel thought, feeling a pang of sympathy. ‘But now, the organization refuses to approve his resignation. What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to turn Joanna in?‘ Daniel agonized.
