Chapter 216: Intimate Moments
Chapter 216: Intimate Moments
(Aria’s POV)
I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment at my clumsiness, and I playfully hit his chest with my fist. “That was your fault! You made the boat rock on purpose!”
“Maybe I did,” Dominic admitted with that mischievous smile that made my heart skip beats. “But I will
always protect you, my mate.”
His silver–gray eyes held mine with such intensity that my wolf practically purred with contentment. Even
after everything we’d been through, after the marking ceremony and Nolan’s birth, he still looked at me like I
was the most precious thing in his world.
“You’re terrible,” I said, but there was no real anger in my voice.
“Terribly in love with you,” he replied, his Alpha authority softened by genuine affection.
He guided the speedboat to a more secluded area of the ocean, away from the crowded beach and curious
tourists. Here, the water was a deeper blue, crystal clear and stretching endlessly toward the horizon. The
only sounds were the gentle lapping of waves against our boat and the cry of seabirds overhead.
“It’s so beautiful out here,” I said, admiring the pristine waters that seemed to sparkle with their own inner
light.
Dominic reached out with gentle Alpha hands, turning my face away from the ocean view to meet his gaze.
“You’re the one who is beautiful, Aria.”
His voice carried the depth of our mate bond, that connection that had grown stronger with every challenge we’d faced together. The way he looked at me made my wolf stir with warmth and belonging.
“Dominic,” I whispered, feeling drawn to him by invisible threads of attraction and love.
He leaned closer, his cedar scent intensifying as our lips met in a kiss that tasted of salt air and promises.
My arms wound around his neck, pulling him closer as the boat rocked gently beneath us.
The sound of a camera clicking broke through our romantic moment, and I jerked back in shock.
“Dominic!” I exclaimed, seeing his phone in his hand. “Delete that right now!”
“Absolutely not,” he said with obvious satisfaction, his Alpha humor shining through. “I like this picture’s ambiance. The way the ocean light catches your hair, the peaceful expression on your face.”
“I was not posing for a photo!” I protested, my cheeks burning with embarrassment.
“That’s what makes it perfect,” he replied, studying the image on his screen with artistic appreciation. “Natural beauty.”
I reached for his phone, but he held it away with his enhanced werewolf reflexes. “Dominic, I mean it!”
“This stays,” he said firmly, but his tone was gentle. “I want to remember this moment forever.”
His sudden seriousness caught me off guard. “What do you mean?”
“Sometimes I’m afraid our happiness is all a dream,” he admitted, his voice carrying a vulnerability that

touched my heart despite his commanding presence. “Like I’ll wake up and none of this will be real.

“It’s real,” I assured him, placing my hand over his heart where I could feel its steady rhythm. “We’re real. Our family is real.”
“I know,” he said softly. “But sometimes the fear creeps in anyway.”
I studied his face, seeing traces of the abandoned boy he’d once been beneath his powerful Alpha exterior
“Well, you’d better get used to reality, because you have responsibilities now.”
“Oh?” His eyebrow arched with interest.
“A mate to cherish,” I said, counting on my fingers. “A pup to raise. A company to run.”
“You forgot one,” Dominic said, his mischievous smile returning.
“What?”
“A lifetime of making you happy,” he replied, then raised his right hand in mock solemnity. “I promise to be
responsible for all eternity.”
His dramatic flair made me laugh despite myself. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Ridiculously devoted to you,” he corrected, lowering his hand to cup my cheek.
(Aria’s POV)
By the time we returned to the luxury resort hotel, the sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in shades of
gold and pink. Nolan had been remarkably well–behaved during our speedboat adventure, but now he was
fussing softly, his tiny wolf expressing hunger through soft whimpers.
“Someone’s ready for dinner,” I said, settling into the comfortable nursing chair in our suite.
Dominic watched with that gentle expression he always wore when observing my maternal instincts in action. “He’s getting stronger every day.”
“Just like his father,” I agreed, stroking Nolan’s soft cheek as he nursed contentedly.
After feeding, we took Nolan for a walk on the beach, his stroller rolling smoothly over the packed sand. Other tourists cast admiring glances our way, no doubt drawn by Dominic’s powerful Alpha presence and natural–magnetism.
“People are staring,” I murmured.
“Let them,” Dominic replied, his protective instincts radiating confidence. “They’re just appreciating a beautiful family.”
Dinner at the hotel restaurant was delicious, though we had to take turns eating while one of us entertained Nolan. The ocean air and new experiences had clearly tired our pup, because he fell asleep almost
immediately after we returned to our suite.
“He had quite an adventure today,” I whispered, adjusting his blanket.
“Just like his parents,” Dominic said with satisfaction.
I found him working on his laptop when I emerged from checking on Nolan one more time. His fingers flew across the keyboard with practiced efficiency, handling Shadow Pack business even during our vacation.
“You can’t escape work completely, can you?” I observed.

“Just catching up on a few urgent matters,” he replied, but I could see the strain in his muscular shoulders from hunching over the screen.
“Your shoulders look tense,” I said, moving closer.
“Occupational hazard,” he admitted, rolling them experimentally
“I could give you a massage,” I offered, my wolf’s nurturing instincts wanting to care for my Alpha mate
But instead of accepting, Dominic surprised me by closing the laptop and taking my hand, pulling me onto his lap with his enhanced werewolf strength.
“Actually,” he said, his silver–gray eyes gleaming with mischief, “I have a surprise for you.”
“What kind of surprise?” I asked suspiciously.
“There’s an outfit in the suitcase,” he said, his voice carrying that familiar teasing tone. “Something special! picked out for you.”
My cheeks immediately flushed as I caught his meaning. “Dominic, no!”
I tried to scramble off his lap, but his powerful hands held me in place. “You promised, remember? Before we left for this trip?”
“I did not promise anything like that!” I protested, though the memory was starting to come back.
“You said, and I quote, ‘Maybe we could try some role playing,” Dominic reminded me with obvious
satisfaction.
“I was not in my right mind when I said that!” I exclaimed.
“A promise is a promise,” he said, though his tone was gentle rather than demanding.
“Nolan will wake up,” I said desperately, grasping for any excuse.
“Our pup is sound asleep,” Dominic assured me, his enhanced werewolf hearing confirming Nolan’s peaceful breathing. “He won’t be disturbed.”
He looked at me with that irresistible combination of Alpha authority and boyish charm, his cedar scent
shifting with anticipation. “Please, Aria? Just this once?”
I wanted to stay angry, to maintain my dignified protest, but the truth was that his continued desire for me, even after our marking ceremony and the birth of our pup, made my wolf hum with pleasure.
“This is the last time,” I said finally, though we both knew I didn’t really mean it.
“Absolutely the last time,” he agreed, but his satisfied smirk suggested otherwise.
“I don’t believe you,” I muttered.
“You don’t have to believe me,” Dominic said, standing and heading toward the bathroom. “You just have to
trust me.”
“Those are two different things!”
“Are they?” he called over his shoulder, disappearing into the shower with obvious satisfaction.
I glared at the closed bathroom door, resigned to my fate but secretly pleased by his passionate nature. My wolf stirred with anticipation despite my embarrassment, already looking forward to whatever intimate

adventure he had planned for us tonight.
As the sound of running water filled the suite, I realized that despite my protests, part of me was excited to discover what outfit he’d chosen. After months of pregnancy, childbirth, and family drama, the thought of feeling desirable and playful again held more appeal than I wanted to admit.
“You’re impossible, Dominic Blackwood,” I whispered to the empty room, but my smile betrayed my true feelings as I headed toward the suitcase to discover what surprise awaited me.
