Chapter 29
LUNA AQUAMARINE’S POV
I felt blood drain out of my face when I heard those words.

1 had no idea where the scroll was but I still refused to look up to meet his gaze. I felt sweat trickle down my skin as his hands went up to the back of my neck.
“Hand me the scroll, woman,” he muttered, “I need to check something.”
Just as I thought I’d be trapped, a knock on the door interrupted us. “Lycan Alexander, breakfast is ready” Levi’s voice was a welcome distraction.
Heavens knows I’ve never been soo happy to hear his voice.
Alexander’s gaze lingered on me before he turned toward the door. “We’ll continue this discussion later.”
He turned back to me, his expression stern. “Wash your face, we’re going down for breakfast in 2 minutes. And you’d better look the way you were yesterday.”
I nodded hastily, relief washing over me as Alexander as he released me. I rushed into the bathroom and let out a breath before splashing water on my face to calm myself.
I glanced down at my hands, still shaking slightly. The scroll’s absence weighed heavily on my mind.
Should I just tell him that I misplaced it? Or lie that I’m trying to understand it?
As I dried my face and took a deep breath, trying to compose myself before stepping outside to see Alexander was glaring at the book on the table.
“I’m ready,” I said and he seemed to snap back at reality and stretched his hand forward.
I took it, trying to match his pace as we walked to the dining hall. The atmosphere was tense, and I could sense the unspoken questions hanging between us.
As we entered the dining hall, I was surprised to see everything back to normal. As if nothing had changed these past hours
Gala raised her eyebrows. “Oh, Aquamarine, I didn’t know you would make it back after your…. Take off,” she said sweetly
She moved to sit beside Alexander, but Levi swiftly intervened.
“Thus seat is reserved for the Luna only Guests should know their place.” Levi suggested, his eyes never leaving Gaia’s
tack
He offered me the seat on the other side of Alexander and i tok it
Gaia’s eyebrows twitched a little

I could feel the embarrassment she felt, but she didn’t seem to take it lightly. She shot me a look and went to the seat Levi
had offered her.
5 seats after him, while he sat 2 seats after Alexander.
Slowly, Elders from The Order began to come into the dining hall. I don’t know if it was a usual thing for Elders to eat with their leader but something told me that this wouldn’t end well.
Especially with Esmeralda, Marcus and Thaddeus present. Only the Goddess knows how much I wanted to disappear from
here.
Although I avoided their gaze, I still had the feeling of them judging me. And after this balcony incident, I wonder what they would do.
I heard Esmeralda speak. “Good morning Luna Aquamarine.”
I looked up to Esmeralda, smiling at me. Her smile mirrored Gaia’s own and I almost shivered.
Almost.
But something caught my attention. She placed something on the table in front of her.
A green, cylindrical bundle with a golden and black design on it. It had a red seal and had various symbols that seemed
familiar.
My breathing hitched and my eyes widened in realization.
The scroll!
I almost said out loud.
It was with her? How?
I
My mind went back to the night it fell off my hand and I gave myself a slap mentally.
Of course, she was with Alexander that night. It only made sense. Why on earth didn’t I think of it before?
And she didn’t even bother to return it? Did she do it on purpose?
I glanced at her, just to see her smirking at me. “I greeted you Luna, what are you thinking of? Are you ok?” she asked.
This old woman knew what she was doing. But I just hoped Alexander wouldn’t notice the scroll in her hands.
No matter what, i had to get the scroll from her.
One way or the other.
By hook or by crook.
The maids came into the dining room to serve each of us.
Immediately I took a bite of the food. Gaia’s laughter broke the silence. “Oh, Aquamarine, you’re doing it just like my silly

stepbrother.”
Her tone was playful, but her words showed it was something entirely different.
Honestly. I don’t know a thing about table etiquette as I’ve been forced to only use my hands or a broken spoon.
Gaia nodded, her smile wide. “But, I think it’s adorable how you… improvise with your utensils.”
Her mocking words seemed innocent, but she delivered them with a warm smile, making it hard to take offense.
heard snickers and scoffs coming from some of the Elders. But I didn’t look up to meet their eyes.
Even Alexander didn’t seem to mind at all.
Instead, he switched to eating meat with his hands, just like he did the day we left my old pack.

But Gaia didn’t stop there. “I’m so glad the cook managed to salvage breakfast after the earlier… commotion. I hope this is to your taste.”
She glanced at me. “And the leap of faith you had. I mean. Such a clumsy thing to happen.”
“Accidents happen, Gaia. You of all people should know that,” Alexander said.
But it made Gaia only happier.
Maybe she liked the fact that he finally spoke to her. “Oh, absolutely. I’m just glad she wasn’t hurt. Although I’d suggest she stays on bedrest, we don’t want to have her limping away with a bruised ankle.”
I could feel Alexander’s gaze drilling holes in the side of my head. I wonder how she noticed I was limping a little.
“It’s just a scratch. Nothing I can’t handle,” I replied back.
But my mind wasn’t there. Esmeralda was all I could think of. How would I get it from her?
Gaia nodded and smiled before facing Alexander. “That reminds me, Alex, I’d like to take Aquamarine-”
