Just as Esmeralda was about to say something, Levi appeared in front of us.

He nodded at me before turning to Esmeralda. “Lycan Alexander is heading to the hall now, you can meet him for what you requested earlier.”
My heart skipped a beat and my eyes darted to Esmeralda.
Her tips curled up in a smile. “Of course, I’ll be right there.”
With a subtle nod at me, she looked at me, “Don’t forget what I told you Luna. It’s the best advice and you’ll thank me later,” she said before walking away.
A lump formed in my throat and I managed to swallow.
“Luna Aquamarine, is everything all right with you?” Levi’s voice rang in my ears. I glanced at him just to see his green eyes searching mine.
For a minute I felt like telling him, but something flipped in my stomach. He’s Alexander’s trusted man, there is no way he
wouldn’t tell Alexander.
“It’s a ladies‘ thing, Levi. You wouldn’t understand.” I chuckled, waving my hand in front of me.
“I see,” he nodded and stared at me. “If you need anything you can ask Alexander, Juliet, or me. We’re here to help.”
Juliet, that name rang in my head.
“Will they be okay? Juliet and Aaron?” I asked. “They shouldn’t be punished.”
Levi shook his head,” I’m afraid there is nothing I can do about that. But why don’t you talk to Lycan Alexander about it?”
he asked.
I sighed heavily, “I can’t. The last time I begged him for something, it didn’t end well.”
I vividly remember how I begged him to spare the lives of my old pack members.
“You’ll have to do it again. Their lives are in your hands now,” he said lowly as he glanced at my hands that were folded against my chest.
I nodded. But Levi’s next words caught me off guard.
“I’ll be the one guarding you for now,” he said, his voice firm.
I felt a knot form in my stomach and iny eyes went wide.
“You? Guarding me?” I asked aloud.
I didn’t like the idea of being constantly watched, especially not after my conversation with Esmeralda. What if Levi

reported back to Alexander about everything I did?
How would I manage with him following me everywhere? Would I ever be able to speak to Esmeralda again?
This is all soo frustrating!

Levi seemed to sense nothing was wrong and continued, “Lycan Alexander wants me to take you somewhere.”
“Where?” I asked rather too fast.
Levi raised an eyebrow and smiled mischievously. “Follow me.”
A shiver ran down my spine as he led the way.
We walked out of the main castle building and Levi led me to a smaller building not too far from the castle grounds.
As we approached the door, Levi said, “This is Alexander’s workshop.”
He opened the doors and I stepped inside.
The view I saw was nothing like any workshop I had seen before. The inside was very large. Weapons of different shapes and sizes hung on the walls. Same with other weird–looking things that I can’t even start to describe.
“What is all this?” I asked, my eyes still in awe as I observed everything in sight.
Levi smiled. “Inventions and weapons. He’s very particular about his personal weapons and sometimes, he does a few for
his best men.”
What kind of projects did Alexander work on here? And why had he brought me here?
“You can leave now Levi.” Alexander’s voice echoed. I looked back to see him standing by the door.
Surprisingly, he looked calm. He didn’t look like the angry man who had dragged me to breakfast with an injured ankle.
“I’ll be on my way now,” Levi said, before turning and exiting the workshop.
Alexander walked over to where I stood. In front of a workbench, where various tools and materials were laid out.
Judging from his aura and the way he seemed relaxed, I don’t think Esmeralda gave him the scroll.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“We’re making a new lock and keys for my study,” he replied, not looking up from his work. “One of the keys will be for you.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Me? Why do I need a key to your study?”
Alexander smiled, “For now, let’s just say it’s a gesture of trust.”
Trust?
He’s trusting me? Something is definitely wrong here. What did Esmeralda do to him?

“When you said making, did you mean from scratch?” I asked.
“Yes, because soon you’ll be in charge of my weaponry.”
I felt a pang of confusion. “I’m not a blacksmith, Primus.”
“I said my weaponry, not the pack’s weaponry,” He explained. “Our kind has a tradition. Mates are supposed to make weapons and exchange them.”
“Oh, I see.” I lied.
Heaven knows I’ve never heard of such. But the thought of having to make one for him myself sounded like something I might not be able to do.
Alexander pulled me close to him, “And I know you know nothing about making one so you should learn from this key. You need to make something you feel I can wield, something that I should wield.”
His warm hands went to my chest and he pressed his hand against it. “Your wolf should be able to feel it or else it won’t be strong. Trust me, I will not accept something weak.”
I swallowed hard and chuckled nervously. His threats are never–ending. He released me and focused on his work.
Alexander handed me a small piece of metal, “This is for the key and the lock. Soon, I will show you how to make a sword, then you’ll make something for me.”
I nodded and watched as he demonstrated how to heat it in the forge. Immediately he started, I realised why he was
shirtless.
The heat was on another level, I wasn’t the one even working yet I was already getting drenched in sweat but he seemed
normal.
“Now it’s your turn,” he said, handing me the tongs. He positioned himself against my back so that I could feel all of him
as he controlled all my movements.
But heck, my mind was spinning, there was something about the closeness that was driving me to the edge. The insane heat. The way his muscles would tense against mine, or the way his large arms completely covered my tiny ones made me feel something I haven’t felt in a long time.
After a few minutes of shaping and cooling, we finally had a rough key shape. Alexander took it from me and began to refine it, his hands moving deftly.
Finally, we finished the key, and Alexander nodded. “You actually have a lot I’d love to see,” he said, his voice teasing.
I raised an eyebrow, unsure how to respond. “Thanks, I think?” I said.
Red signs.
I was seeing red signs everywhere and the intensity from his golden eyes was definitely not helping at all. I knew he was on to something.
I yelped in surprise as I felt strong hands suddenly grab my arm and crash my body against his. “Alex-”

He cut me off with a kiss. A long kiss that was leaving me breathless. Then, like bees to honey, I found myself trying to catch up with him.
Then he pulled away from me, slowly and painfully. “Don’t bite your lips around me again,” he growled, staring at them.
I honestly don’t remember biting them. But maybe I really did, after all, Clinton always had a habit of staring a little too
much.
“Let’s go back.” He said and I nodded, my mind still hazy from the kiss.
But despite it all, I still need to meet up with Esmeralda later today for the conditions.
As Alexander and I walked back to the castle, the sound of raised voices caught my attention. I recognised the voices soo well that I felt my heart jump out of my stomach.
Katherine and Gaia.
It had better be a joke. My heart skipped a beat as I quickened my pace.
“What’s going on?” Alexander asked, his eyes narrowing as he followed me.
“I think it’s Katherine and Gaia,” I replied.
And I was right. saw both of them together. Katherine’s eyes were glowing red and Gaia’s hands were clenched into fists.
“Stop!” I shouted, rushing forward.
Alexander caught my arm and pulled me back. “Let them work it out,” he said, but I could hear excitement in his voice.
As Katherine walked forward, I could see the shift beginning to start. Meanwhile, Gaia seemed to be preparing to strike, her green eyes glowing like they did that day with the vines.
