LUNA AQUAMARINE’S POV

I’ll do as you ask. I’ll reject Alexander and go with you to your kingdom.I said to her

Gaia’s eyes lit up. She smiled widely and nodded as if I had just said something impressive. Great. Let’s go now Whity. The earlier, the better. She said as she pulled my arm and turned

Wait,I pulled back. “Can I get the pendant first?I pleaded. I don’t want Alexander to suspect anything yet.”

Gaia raised her brow then blinked at me, Sure, but let’s agree on it first.”

I nodded and took out my dagger. I ran it through my palm. Letting the pain sting a bit, but it also burned. A lot more than it should for just a dagger

Ahh, I see you’re already learning things. Sneaky little thing.she grinned and did the same with a smaller dagger she

pulled from her robe. She was fast with it as well, like someone who is used to pain that she barely winced

How could I not have learnt it? Afterall, Esmerlda taught me when I made a deal with her. There are so many snakes

surrounding me. Little me, like Alexander might say sometimes

The moment I dreaded finally arrived. It started with quickly tiny droplets of rain that were hitting me, then it was the

wind next. It began to howl like a beast terrorizing its prey

Lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating the dark clouds in daunting and electric blue. I didn’t like it.

Not even a tiny bit

I could feel it within me, building up slowly like a snowball effect, it was pushing it up and inside my vocal box. It began to choke me like a large hand wrapping around my neck in a tight hold

But I can’t let it out. Never, especially in front of her. I almost let it all out in fear but I didn’t want Gaia to suspect anything

so I swallowed the scream

After she sliced herself, I let her chant some words before going in for a handshake to seal the deal

She took the bait. Yes!

I was really learning well. When you are thrown into the midst of wolves, it’s either you learn and adapt to their way by wearing their skin and acting like them, or be devoured like an innocent little sheep would

A world that is like kill or be killed

All were Alexander’s words

So instead of my hand to meet hers, Jaimed for the pendant instead. I tried to jack it off from her neck but she came down

with me

That was not supposed to happen

We both landed on the ground. The thud of our bodies on the ground was so hard and loud as if we had more weight than

the one we had

She didn’t waste time groaning in the sudden pain that the fall caused, the next thing she did was bite my hand

You sneaky twotiming bitch!she screamed. How dare you?!”

I had no time to talk. It was already raining heavily and I was shivering. But I only had one thing in mind

Despite being scared of the storm, I’m more scared of Alexander

We struggled back and forth, the pendant swaying between us. Just as it seemed like Gaia was about to overpower me,

managed to get a good grip on the pendant

Got it!I exclaimed, pulling with all my might. –

But Gaia wouldn’t let go. I’ll kill you!”

Just as I was about to strike, she tackled me to the ground and pinned me down

Her grip tightened on my neck and I almost choked. But the more she squeezed, the more she screamed in pain

Like hurting me was also hurting her. Then she let go and got off me. I gasped for breath and started coughing. I caught

sight of her staring at her bracelet, she looked furious and she glared at me. You made him do this?!

I blinked confused

A freaking counterattack! She shrieked. I’ll kill you, whether the bracelet likes it or not!”

I gripped the pendant tightly against my chest and turned to run. But I was too slow, Gaia launched herself at me. More like she flew and landed on my body causing me to fall

I was trapped in a nightmare. My fear of the storm and my fear of Gaia’s vine

She aimed her dagger up, about to stab me but I blocked it with my dagger. But something immediately happened, the impact instantly sent us flying back and a green light suddenly spread everywhere

Pain shot through my body as I landed on some thorny shrubs. I felt like I broke something

Gaia regained her posture, her eyes widened in surprise as her gaze went down. I assumed she was staring at her wrists

Then, she started laughing like a beast

A happy evil monster that felt like it had just been released from captivity. Like a genie in the bottle

Ohh Aquamarine, you have no idea what you’ve just done, she sneered. You just made killing you a little more fun.”

The bracelets fell off

No, the dagger had sliced through it, my whole body shuddered and my hands felt heavy

I stumbled back, my heart still racing from the fear. This was the worst case scenario

Chapter 40

Her eyes glowed now, a darker shade, almost black. That was all I could see now

Dark green light that made all the hairs on my body stand

I prepared myself, waiting for her to form the massive face vine again but she just tilted her head to the side

And with the wave of her finger, I felt myself being flung away

My back hit a large tree and then another and then another. Till I eventually landed on my head and I felt something

crack

Pain shot through my body but my scream was drowned out by the heavy downpour

I could feel Gaia’s hand around my ankle, dragging me on the ground while humming a song

But as I closed my eyes, I saw my Father, hitting me with a stick as everything went dark
