Chapter 41
PRIMUS ALEXANDER’S POV
I felt it.
The feeling of Aquamarine’s blood on the dagger. I couldn’t help but wonder what she was doing and how exactly she cut herself with a dagger by this time of the day.
As I entered my room, the first thing that hit my nose was the scent of a variety of food on the bed.
Still warm.
Followed by the sound of rushing water from the bathroom.
I was looking forward to a warm relaxing evening. Maybe I would get Aquamarine to satisfy me.
But as I approached the bathroom, I caught sight of a bright green light shining outside the window. It was soo bright that I had to shield my eyes despite the heavy downpour.
But it didn’t seem natural at all.
“Aquamarine?”
There was no answer.
Suddenly, a strange sensation washed over me, like a command snapping into place.
My body began to shift my beast was taking over. I dashed out of the room, racing down the corridors like a possessed
beast I couldn’t control.
Nothing else made sense to me.
Not even the beasts running in union behind me.
All I knew was that something terrible was amiss. Fortunately the rain had reduced, but that wasn’t the reason why I increased my speed.
We ran into the forest, running deeper just to see a figure standing in front of a big oak tree.
Gala.
She just stood there, watching the earth swallow up the tree. The more the tree sank, the more I felt my heart race. How could she when she still has the brace-
Then my eyes caught something. A pendant. Aquamarine’s pendant to be exact was in her hands.
My blood ran cold as a sudden thought came to my mind
As if I was being controlled, I charged towards Gaia. I knocked her off the ground, my beast body landing heavily on her. I pressed my large, heavy paw on her chest, making it hard for her to breathe.

Chapter 41
Gaia’s eyes trembled and her mouth went wide in fear as she struggled to push me off. But I weighed more than 10 average beasts. The weight of my body, combined with the pressure from my paw, made her gasp desperately for air.
27%
“Where is Aquamarine?” I growled, my voice barely human. A voice I hadn’t heard in a long time and an insane amount of heat was waiting to unleash itself.
“S–she…l–left…” she gurgled, her voice strained and barely audible, the words forced out between gasps for air.
1 allowed my body to shift further, growing bigger and heavier above her. I pressed her chest more, my sharp claws sinking into her chest, very close to the fast beating of her heart.
The beasts behind me roared and growled.
Gaia’s brown skin began to lose its warmth. It was turning pale and dull as she struggled to breathe. She clawed at my paw, her eyes bulging.
“I swear to the Moon goddess, Gaia. I. Will. Squash. You.” I snarled at her, my hot air coming out from my mouth and nose
hitting her like a physical force.
Finally, she pointed a shaky finger. I followed her gaze to the tree that had almost completely sunk into the earth.
It better not be what I’m thinking.
She did something with her hand and just like that, the tree that was sinking began to rise from the ground. After it was fully out, she opened it.
My eyes went wide and I froze. It was like my heart dropped and time stopped.
Aquamarine’s body was inside.
Her face was bruised. Her pale skin had red marks and dirt all over it. Red liquid dripped from her head to her face.
An animalistic growl escaped from my lips, and also from the beasts beside me. I rushed to Aquamarine’s side and gently brought her out of the tree. Her teeth were chattering, her breathing was heavy and she had debris and dirt all over her
body
1 glared at Gaia.
And God, I really wanted to kill her. I really wanted to hurt her soo bad that she’ll regret the day she ever set eyes on me.
But then Aquamarine started crying out loudly, the sound rang painfully in my ears that it spread goosebumps all over my skin. I carried her on my back and ran back to the pack.
As we approached the castle, I could feel my transformation reversing, my human form taking over. I ran into the castle, heading straight to my bedroom.
I laid her on my bed, my bloody hands shaking slightly, “Aquamarine, stay with me,” I whispered, rubbing her hand and head. But I was trying to be careful enough not to apply too much pressure on her injury.
“It’s ok,” I whispered in her ear again, my voice trembling as my eyes went over her bruised face once again. It was worse than the day I arrived at her old pack. “Please, wake up,” I found myself begging

And then slowly, very slowly, Aquamarine started opening her eyes. Then she stared at me, her white eyes looked dead.
Empty. Like they did the day I first saw her.
Lost and pained.
But then, tears followed and she started shaking just like she did earlier today. For the first time in a long time, I felt a sharp ache in my chest.
I kept stroking her hair and rocking her body against mine slowly. The metallic smell of her blood hit my nose hard again,
“Guards! Send for Juliet! And Katherine!” I screamed at the guards at my door. Several minutes later, both of them came
rushing in.
Katherine’s eyes went wide, just like Juliet’s.
But Juliet took action first, “I’ll be back,” she said and ran out.
Katherine on the other hand rushed to my side. “What happened to her?” Her voice broke.
“I–1,” I stopped and clenched my jaw. I had no idea what to tell her. I felt like I had failed to protect the one thing I vowed to
protect.
I felt like punching myself. But Kath kept staring at me.
Fortunately, Juliet rushed back inside with a large bowl of her special herbs. “We need to get her stable and warm. The wounds are deep and it’s like she has lost a lot of blood. I’ll prepare the healing bath,” she said and rushed into the
bathroom.
I should have protected her better. I should have been there for her. I should have listened to Levi.
I can’t believe I chose The Order’s advice over my bond!
Aquamarine’s eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at me. “I…I’m sorry,” she whispered, but her voice was soo broken
that it hurt even me.
I planted a shaky kiss on her forehead, “Don’t apologize, Aqua. You’re safe now. You’re going to be ok.”
I carefully carried Aquamarine into the bathroom. But the moment I put Aquamarine inside the bathtub of hit water, she winced and grabbed my arm tightly, whimpering in my ears.
It’s fine, I won’t leave you anymore,” I said and I went inside with her. Luckily, she didn’t protest.
Juliet began adding herbs to the water. If smelt like shit, but her concoctions are always very effective
But as I stared at Aquamarine’s face again, I couldn’t bear the thought of her being in so much pain,
All because of me.
I ordered Juliet to go to my drawers and bring out a large black bottle. She poured its contents into the bathtub and I watched as the water began turn dark red,

Immediately after that, the bleeding from Aquamarine’s wounds stopped. The green cuts on her skin began to close and her breathing seemed to return to normal.
Aquamarine’s body began to relax but her eyes still had that scared look.
Despite the hot water, she was still shaking and her teeth were still chattering.
Juliet shook her head and sighed. “She needs your heat urgently, Primus,” her tone was urgent and her eyes bore onto mine. “She’s still traumatized and only your warmth can help calm her down.”
Juliet firmly grasped Katherine’s arm, trying to drag her away but Katherine resisted. She just stood there, staring at Aquamarine.
“For fuck’s sake, woman, just leave! Nothing will happen to her!” I snapped. Katherine’s eyes widened and she froze before Juliet finally managed to pull her out of the room.
I didn’t waste any more time, I gently lifted Aquamarine’s naked form out of the bathtub and carried her to the bed.
I shut my windows and ordered the guards to leave the door for tonight. Then I walked back to bed and removed my clothes. I stood naked as I watched her shiver, then I climbed the bed and pulled her into my arms.
1 took a deep breath and her trembling body against mine, I released my heat, letting my warmth envelop her.
It’s my fault.-
She had warned me about Gaia. She always told me about her insecurities concerning Gaia staying here. She kept reminding me of the number of times Gaia almost killed her.
But I didn’t listen to her.
And now…now Aquamarine was paying the price.
And Gaia? She will die the way witches should.
