Chapter 46
LUNA AQUAMARINE’S POV
I wiped the sweat away from my forehead. I was currently in Alex’s workshop, half–dressed and frustrated to the core.
Despite wearing a lighter dress today, it clung to my skin with every drop of sweat and I felt like I was melting into the metal and flames surrounding me. My hair was pinned up, but strands kept falling around my face.
I’d been working for hours, trying to craft a weapon worthy of Alex, but everything I made was an eyesore compared to the
dagger he gave me.
I leaned over the bench and glared at the latest weapon I’d just forged. No, the abomination of a ‘thing‘ I had just forged.
I sighed in frustration. I could already imagine the look on his face and the vibration of his body when he laughs when I hand him this slug.
I left the room, the cool castle air a welcome respite from the heat. Today I insisted on walking alone. No Juliet. No Aaron.
Of course, I knew they were somewhere nearby, hidden in the shadows.
Watching. Always watching.
But for once, I wanted to breathe without eyes on me.
It had been two days since the scroll opened. Two days since my heat ended.
Two days of constant hot, mouth–watering sexual–touches that weren’t just about mating anymore. There was something else now. Something deeper.
I felt different.
The pack was different too.
It wasn’t just the way they looked at me. I felt connected to them more than the physical. I couldn’t quite explain it but now, the members looked at me differently.
But the Elders… They were the opposite.
They avoided eye contact. They flinched when I and Alexander entered the room. It was obvious that their little smiles were fake.
I didn’t know why. But it unsettled me. I could feel something had changed, something no one was telling me.
The corridors were still and quiet as I wandered through the castle. All I wanted to do right now was to dip myself in the bathtub and sleep off.
Then, something caught my eye.
A glimpse of dark red hair.
Alex.

Chapter 46
He was walking down a side corridor, a long cloak trailing behind him. No guards with him, not even Levi. He was just walking in hurried steps without turning back.
My brows drew together. Didn’t he catch my scent?
Where was he going?
I decided to follow him, keeping to the shadows like I noticed Juliet and Aaron did. Every turn he made, I mirrored. Every hallway he crossed, I lingered behind. My bare feet made no sound.
Then… he disappeared.
I blinked.
He was just there.
But now, nothing. The only sound I heard was the echoing of his name.
A chilbran down my spine as I realised I had no idea where I was. My mind went back to the day I was lost while going back
to the study, before I was pushed off the balcony.
I was lost.
I turned back, trying to retrace my steps but it was useless. It was like I was walking in circles.
No door. No stairs.
“Alex?” I called again, louder, but nothing seemed to make sense. I turned a corner and found myself at a dead–end wall. It
had thick and dry branches twisted around what looked like a door. I swallowed hard as I remembered Gaia.
Just when I turned, a hand suddenly slammed over my mouth and I gasped, eyes wide. Another arm wrapped around my
waist and then and then I heard the sound of the door opening.
The last thing I saw was the huge door closing, the vines twisting back into place like a lock as I was pulled inside the
room.
Then–darkness.
Just as I was about to scream, the hand released me and spun me around. When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was gold eyes staring at me.
Treleased a shaky breath, “Are you trying to kill me? Why did you grab me like that?” I demanded, trying to sound angry
despite the relief washing over me. “I thought it was Gaia.”
Alexander’s eyes were fized on me. “What are you doing here? How did you find this place?” he asked, his voice low.
“I wanted to walk with you but when you didn’t notice me so I decided to follow,” I replied, but he still held me in place. “I was calling you. Why didn’t you answer me?”
Alexander’s brows drew together, his eyes narrowing like he was trying to piece something together. Like he was deep in thought.

“Alexander?” I called, a little nervous now. His eyes… they had changed shade. Slightly darker. Sharper.

I couldn’t help but notice the look in his eyes. It was intense. I felt a shiver run down my spine. Why was he looking at me like he wanted to devour me whole?
“I swallowed hard and cleared my throat. “P–primus? What’s wrong?” I asked, going back to the old name I used to call
him.
“Aquamarine,” he said finally, his voice rough. “Why are you dressed like that?” He motioned vaguely to my body. I looked down and realised how thin the dress was. I’d been sweating earlier and now the dress kind of looked transparent.
“Fuck,” I whispered but Alexander raised an eyebrow and heat rushed to my cheeks. I had been spending soo much time with Juliet that i had started saying curse words.
“I–I was in your weapon room,” I muttered. “Trying to make something for you.”
His eyes remained on me, burning with something I couldn’t quite place. It wasn’t just lust. It was something more primal.
He looked… different. His aura was different. Like he was on the edge of something, like he was about to snap very soon.
Was he in heat again? No. It didn’t feel like that. It felt… deeper. Dangerous. And it wasn’t just his aura, this whole space… room… wherever we were, felt heart–wrenching. Scary, like it made my skin crawl soo much that I wanted to run away
from here. From him.
“P–primus, what is this place?” I stammered with a shaky breath.
“Somewhere you shouldn’t be,” he replied. “At least not now, he muttered. “I know you don’t have any of my valuables
yet.”
Before I could ask what he meant, he took my hand and pulled me along with him.
As we walked in silence, flickers of light began to glow on the wall with each step we took. It was like the lanterns on the walls began to light themselves.
But the light wasn’t enough to see the entire room. But I noticed something shocking.
Alexander’s entire torso was wrapped in black cloth. My hand brushed against his back without thinking, and he flinched.
I pulled away immediately, my heart skipping. He didn’t say anything, so I stayed silent too.
We stopped in front of a tall stone slab and he pulled out something from the darkness. “You’ll use this,” he said. “Make something worthy of you… and me.”
I stared at it.
A large red stone with flickering gold lines inside. Just like the dagger, the stone had a deadly aura to it. No, it was deadlier and for some reason, it was pulling me in
The moment I touched it, I felt a short sharp zap ran through my body and something flashed in my mind.
I gasped and pulled back. Then I touched it again.

It felt hot and rough against my palms. Really rough. And even pulsing, or should I say vibrating? Like it had just dug it from the core of the earth. As if it were alive and breathing.
Is this….. is his most valuable possession?
This Gem?
