Chapter 54
PRIMUS ALEXANDER’S POV
My wolf was the first to notice.
He wasn’t growling anymore. He was… bowing.
Yielding.
And then I felt it.
The pull. Not pain. Not even fear. Something older. Something sacred. My breath caught as her voice echoed back in my skull like a whisper branded into my flesh:
It was like time itself had cracked apart.
The corridor was frozen. Elders locked in place. Levi half–turned. Juliet mid–breath. The Core Fang still pulsing in Aquamarine’s shaking hands.
And then me. Trapped inside my own skin.
Time had obeyed.
We all had.
And now that her words faded, everything slowly began to move again, but the air didn’t change. Because I knew what just happened. My heart slammed against my ribs. My claws itched beneath my skin. But my wolf… he stayed still. Like he had no right to rise.
And the entire order just felt it.
Some of them didn’t understand the weight of what happened. But a few did.
Leonard especially. He was staring at her now with a kind of horror that went beyond betrayal.
And that could only mean one thing.
They weren’t above her anymore. I wasn’t above her anymore.
She was above us and now, she had my Core Fang with her. Gripping it like it belonged to her. Like it accepted her.
Then it clicked.
The times she snuck out in the night, the way her mood changed since the day I took her into that room. Since the day I showed her the Core Fang. Since the moment she touched it.
She had everything planned.
From the beginning, she played me. This was what she wanted. This is what they wanted. The Core Fang-

The weapon that all creatures killed for. She wanted my kingdom. My men. My power.
Everything.
“You…” I breathed, my voice barely human.
Aquamarine blinked, her eyes wide and her face red from crying. Her body trembled like the power she’d summoned was draining her. “Please trust me-”
“You little spy,” I sneered. “That’s what this is, isn’t it? They were right about you. They were right about your pack!”
The relic shook in her hand as she stumbled back, her body sagging under the weight of her own magic. Sweat clung to her skin, her knees buckling.
Leonard took one slow step forward, voice colder than I’d ever heard it. “Primus-”
But I raised a hand to silence him. I couldn’t stay here, I couldn’t look at him in the face. Not now that there is a shift in
power.
I hated it.
I wouldn’t be able to harm her, not in front of them. Not in front of my wolf. But I wouldn’t yield.
I stared at Aquamarine’s shivering form, then at Katherine’s red eyes and a small sack slung across her shoulder.
And I didn’t forget Katherine.
Making up stories about Aquamarine’s birth, the pendant and her birthmark.
Stories I foolishly ate up.
I slowly walked toward Katherine and grabbed the sack from her shoulder. She let out a frightened cry as I ripped it away from her. I emptied the contents onto the floor.
Clothes and basic supplies spilt out.
I let out a tiny chuckle and my eyes twitched.
They were planning to run away. To escape with the Core Fang. Aquamarine was planning to leave me.
My veins bulged on my neck.
Like hell I’ll make that happen.
In a swift motion, I grabbed the Core Fang from her hands and held her wrist in a tight grip. She struggled weakly, but she was too drained to put up much of a fight.
Or perhaps, it was just one of her pretences.
She yelped, her knees giving out. I caught her, but not gently. My grip was tight, my claws half–shifted, breath steaming through my nose as I walked away.

“Levi!” I shouted back over my shoulder. “Tell Aaron to treat Katherine accordingly.”

Katherine’s eyes went wide and she let out a terrified scream. Aquamarine’s struggles grew more frantic, but when she opened her mouth to speak, I covered it with my hand..
My palm pressed firmly against her lips. “Don’t,” I growled, my voice low and menacing. “Don’t even think about being saved or else I’ll serve Kath as dinner.”
Aquamarine’s body tensed beneath my grip. I felt a tear drop on my hand but I knew better than to look at those eyes of
hers.
I dragged her along beside me, my hand still clamped firmly over her mouth. I couldn’t wait to get her alone, to make her pay for her betrayal.
Her power had scorched the walls, and it was still in the air. One word from her could make even Levi question me. Even The Order.
And she didn’t even know what she’d done.
She didn’t know the ancient law she had just overwritten.
The one no Luna had done in centuries.
A Luna who marked her Alpha became his equal.
Or worse.
His superior.
The last time this happened, it ended in a war.
Or maybe she knew. Maybe that’s what she wanted.
I dragged her down the hall.
Her body was hot.
Drenched in sweat. Her steps faltered with each pull. But I didn’t care if she passed out midway. It would not change anything. It would not stop me from doing exactly what I had in mind.
I didn’t even care that the Core Fang was burning in my arm. Something it never did before.
I slammed open my chamber door and pushed her inside. I placed the Core Fang on the table and turned to her weak form
on the floor.
“Alexander, please…” she whispered.
“You. Marked. Me.”
She blinked. “What?”

“You took the first bite.” I sneered at her.
Her hands trembled as they clutched the edge of her robe. “No, I didn’t–I never-”
“You bit me first,” I said, stepping forward. “You sank your teeth into my neck that day. You took my blood and you didn’t
die.”
“No,” she whispered, shaking her head like it would undo everything while gasping for breath. “I didn’t know.”
But I did. I remembered it clearly.
How I felt a shift after the bite.
How she made my men bow down to her at that moment.
But I was late.
I thought I had time to undo it. I thought I had time to reverse the claim. I foolishly thought I was punishing her by making my blood burn her.
I had no idea I was digging my own grave. I caused this.
“I’m sorry,” she croaked, still shivering and trying to reach out to me.
I believed her. No, my wolf did.
That was the worst part.
He believed she didn’t know. That she didn’t do this on purpose.
But I knew it was all just a pretence.
As I dragged Aquamarine up, her body trembled with weakness. But before I could take another step, the door burst open and Levi barged in. “Alexander……..”
He trailed off. His eyes fixed on Aquamarine’s broken form and I swore I saw his eyes narrowing to slits. “There’s an emergency outside,” he said coldly. “You need to go. Now.”
I hesitated for a moment, my grip on Aquamarine’s wrist tightening. But I knew I couldn’t ignore the situation.
My fangs bared. I turned, nostrils flaring.
I grabbed the Core Fang from the table and held it tightly. “Levi, make sure she doesn’t move an inch,” I growled, my eyes locked on Aquamarine’s red face.
Levi nodded, his eyes flicking to Aquamarine before returning to me. “I’ll take care of it, Alexander.”
Then I stormed past him, out the door, rage boiling through every step as I went to face whatever new madness dared to interrupt mine.
Her pleading face and voice still échoed in my mind. But I pushed it away.

I wanted to shake her, scream at her, ask her why? How? What else had she hidden?
But that was all lost now.
She had no idea what she’d done.
And for that, I’d make her remember it.
Every. Single. Day.
I’ll make her pay dearly. And she would.
