Gala’s breasts graze over my chest. Her fingers traced lazy patterns across my abdomen, her lips brushing my jaw every few minutes like she thought the touch might rekindle samething long dead..

She giggled, leaned in again and fed me fruit I didn’t ask for.
Letting her return to the castle had been a gathered decision. Onel regretted a little more with every passing hour.
It had only been three days. Three endless, stifling days.
Three days of pretending to tolerate her presence.
Three days of enduring her hands, her voice, her smile.
And Gala hadn’t left my side since, following me to meetings and even around the castle. Even in my temporary room, she would barge in, unannounced and uninvited.

Marking her. Smelling her. Fucking her till I was sure she wasn’t able to move a muscle.
Aquamarine didn’t speak. She didn’t look me in the eye or scream. She didn’t cry or curse like others did.
She just accepted whatever I did to her. Even though I made sure she’s able to sniff Gala on me. She said nothing.
She just sits in the cage and leans on those silver bars that she might have grown used to
Her scent still clung to my skin even after I washed up. Thated how easily I remembered the sound of her breath. The weight of her eyes. The shape of her mouth when she almost said something… but didn’t..
I hated that I wanted her to speak. I hated that i wanted her to look at me like she used to. I hated how my body still reached for her anyway
And yet… I couldn’t stay away, I didn’t even know I still had her locked up,
“Alex, Gala cooed, dragging her fingers through my hair as she shifted closer, “You’re still upset, aren’t you? About that blind pup? You don’t have to think about her anymore. I’m here now. I’ll make you forget her.”

But before I could push Gaia away, the door opened without a knock.
Levi stepped inside, holding something in his hand. His eyes were cold and his lips were pressed to a thin Une. He didn’t spare Gala a glance. He didit’ı even bow. He just marched straight to me..

The silence that followed cracked the air in half. Gala’s hand slowly pulled away from my chest, sensing the shift.
Levi didn’t wait for my command to speak. He pulled out a crumpled sheet of paper and slammed it on the table between us.
“She gave me this.”

“Aquamarine.”
Gaia scoffed lightly beside me. “This again? Let it go. That girl’s just bitter you finally saw through her lies and deceit.”
My jaw tightened. “Levi, what the hell were you doing in my innermost chamber?”
His jaw clenched but he didn’t back down. “What type of barbaric act are you practising on the Luna?”
“Answer the question, I growled.

Hleaned back, arms folded across my chest. “She’s being punished for stealing from me. This isn’t even the proper punishment, Levi.”
“Did she? Or was she forced to?” Levi pointed at the paper. “Read it.”

Levi groaned in frustration and clenched his jaw. “She said the person doesn’t want to harm her. They want to destroy you. She didn’t even beg. She didn’t cry. She looked me in the eye and said if I couldn’t believe her, she’d understand.
I glared at him. “And you believe her? Why?”
“Because I’m not foolish or blind,” he said. Levi leaned forward, hands on the table. “If she were a traitor, Alexander, she would’ve let herself out. She wouldn’t have been caught.”
Levi ran a hand over his hair. “Do you even realise how much power she holds? If she’d wanted help after you caught her, the beasts beyond this land would’ve torn down the castle to reach her. Your men would have barged in by now. It has happened before and it can happen again.”

He stepped even closer now, his voice raw. “But she didn’t. Not because she’s scared. Not because she’s guilty. But because she respects you. Even now. After all of this.”
