Chapter 64
BREEDER AQUAMARINE’S POV
I closed my eyes again, trying to steady my breathing.
This is the second storm since I was locked here yet the darkness seems to press in closer with every rumble of thunder.
ன
Then the air shifted.
Alexander was here.
I stood up fast, heart racing.
He must have seen the drawer that Levi broke. Or worse, Levi must have confronted him with the note and it obviously angered him.
I opened my eyes slowly and I instantly wished I didn’t. My mouth went wide and a chill ran down my spine as i stared at her.
Esmeralda!
What was she doing here? How did she know I was here!
“You look surprised,” Esmeralda said. Her lips curling up as she stood outside the cage, like a predator watching her prey slowly run out of air.
And beside her….
Gaia?
Her arms folded, her lips curled up with that same poison she wore the day she tried to kill me. “Luna?” She macked, “Why is the precious Luna you locked up in a cage?”
My lips trembled,
My throat dried and my stomach twisted into knots.
“Poor little thing. Does he finally see you for what you are?” Gaia glanced over the space, wrinkling her nose,
My fists tightened on Levi’s cloak, my chest burned as her taunts hit a deep spot. “You shouldn’t be in here,” I replied, my voice low and breaking.
Gaia stepped forward, leaning close. “True, I should be riding Alex’s dick by now,” she grinned. “You know, he has been crawling back to me since the day I almost killed you.”
Her words stung but I looked away from her. “You’re lying,” I croaked.
“He must have lied to you that he sent me away… well, he did. But he only moved me to another chamber.” Gaia reached through the bars and brushed my cheek with her sharp nail, “Can’t you catch his scend on me?”
Unfurtunately, I could.
I caught it even before she opened the door. And it made my heart ache soo bad that my eyes stung
Esmeralda stepped forward, cradling something in her hands. “Gaia, it’s time.”
The moment I saw it, my mouth went wide and my stomach dropped.
The Core Fang
“You…” I croaked, my voice barely a whisper. “You’re working together?”

Chapter 64
Gaia and Esmeralda exchanged a look. Then they laughed,
Gaia turned back to me with a sigh, almost pitying,
“You’re so easy, Aquamarine, “You’re wondering how got it,” Esmeralda said calmly, turning the relic in her palm like it was nothing. “That idiot didn’t let it out of his sight after what you did. But thanks to you, Mexander asked me to seat it for him,”
My throat was dry. “You have everything now. His blood, his hair, the Core Fang. So the pacİ-
“Yes and no,” she laughed, shaking her head. “You gave me more than asked for. But there’s still something missing.”
titted my head and stared at her in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“Didn’t you read the paper I gave you?” Her voice was honeyed. “Yes, you gave the blood and the hair. But you never stopped to ask what the third item truly was, did you?”
She stood up then, “The final item,” she said, “wasn’t just the core Fang
She leaned forward, her eyes catching the dim light. “It’s your Heart,” she whispered.
My brows creased as I shook my head. “I don’t understand”
“Don’t look so confused, little thief,” Esmeralda sighed. “The moment that devil chose you over The Order, when he cared enough to kill his men for you and worst of all the moment he made the entire kingdom shake all because of a little incident with Gaia, that was the moment you became his heart,”
“No….” My voice shook as my knees buckled underneath me, my body shivered despite the cloak wrapped around me. “That’s not true.”
Esmeralda snarled, eyes flashing. “It should have been his heart but the Core Fang already accepted you days ago. We all felt the shift in power and now don’t just need the Core Fang,” Her voice dropped, lower, darker,
A cold pit formed in my stomach as those words rang in my ears.
She crouched lower now, her face inches from the bars. “I need the key to wield it. I need you, the heart of him… something that shouldn’t be shared. And thanks to you, darling, it was shared. With you.”
No, I was sick.
My stomach twisted viclently, bile rushing up my throat. I turned to the side just in time and vomited, the acid burning my mouth as my body shook. The stench hit me hard, mixing with the silvery air of this cursed room.
Gaia stepped back in disgust, fanning her nose. Esmeralda just watched, unmoved, like she’d expected
wiped my mouth with trembling fingers. Tears blurred my eyes. I couldn’t stop shaking,
Esmeralda tilted her head. “I’m not going to kill you, if that’s what you’re wondering,” she said. “Not yet I need that pathetic little heart of yours s beating when I drive the dagger in. It’s not about pulling it out. It’s about piercing it… with meaning”
My breathing became erratic. I closed my eyes, trying to focus. I curled tighter against the bars.
Alex, Please…
But I stopped.
He wouldn’t come. Not after this. He probably hated me,

So instead, I reached for someone else.
Levi, Aaron.
Anyone.
Someone.
Please. Save me.
Before I know what was happening, the cage bars suddenly grew hot. I flinched, startled.
My eyes widened as I heard Esmeralda chant some words, then the silver bars started glowing red and then they cracked apart
Iscreamed.
She had broken the locks and the chains. Whatever Alexanderused was destroyed. She staggered back a little after that, clenching her chest and breathing loudly. “Useless body,” she muttered, her pupils glitching.
She dragged me out by the wrist, and I stumbled into her arms, breath heaving, trying to fight, but she was far stronger than she should be.
Cold air suddenly hit my body, causing me to shiver more than already was. I looked over to see Gala opening a large door.
My eyes went wide. I had no idea there was an opening there. But it was still too dark. The sky was too thick. The storm hadn’t yet rained–but it was
coming.
They dragged me towards the very large balcony. My feet scraped the ground.
Esmeralda dropped her bag on the ground, digging through it, after placing the Core Fang in a carved bowl. Her hand hovered over the Core Fang like it was a god while she drew symbols on the floor and chanted some words.
Gaia held me tighter I could feel her smirk near my ear. I kicked and screamed, but she just laughed. “it’s sad that you won’t be alive for my coronation next week,” she hissed near my ear.”
Coronation? Alexander was planning on crowning her?
No.
She was lying. She had to be. But the way she smiled and the way she said ‘our‘ made my heart drop.
“Oh, and Katherine? She gave her last word aher 1-
