Just the thought of it fired Dominic up, filling him with unstoppable drive. “Ms. Lambert, I’ll get right at it.”
Skylar watched his bustling figure as he hurried away, shaking her head with an amused smile.
Zack was a total rookie with zero name recognition. He couldn’t land any decent gigs. Dominic had been racking his brains, searching high and low, and finally managed to find a variety show that seemed like a good fit for Zack.
However, whether Zack could join the show was entirely up to Skylar. Once again, he knocked on Skylar’s office door. “Come in,” Skylar replied.
“Ms. Lambert, I’ve found a variety show for Zack. This could be a great opportunity for his debut!” Dominic trailed off mid–sentence, fidgeting with his hands awkwardly.
Skylar arched her eyebrow slightly. “What’s the matter? Run into some trouble?”
“Well, the show’s name is ‘Working With My Boss,‘ so it might require you to participate in the recording.”
While variety shows featuring celebrities with their managers or family members have become quite common in recent years, it was still rare to see one where they appeared with their real boss.
“It’s pretty new, but I wonder if this show is any good.” Skylar pouted.
Dominic said, “We’ve done our due diligence. While it’s not a big–budget production, the show is decent. The creative team is also fairly competent.
“Ms. Lambert, would you be willing to participate?” Dominic asked hesitantly. He knew how hard it had been to find a variety show that suited Zack. It would be tough to find another project that fits Zack if he missed this chance.
Dominic thought to himself, ‘Ms. Lambert is also busy; she might not even have time to record it. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll try to find something else.”
Skylar didn’t give an immediate answer, pausing to consider the feasibility of the proposal.
After a long pause, Skylar finally replied to Dominic, “No problem on my end. The secretarial department is handling company affairs, and nothing major has happened lately. I can manage both the show and my work.”
With a grin, Dominic replied cheerfully, “Great! I’ll get back to them right away.”
With the collaboration confirmed, they set a time to draft and sign the contract. Dominic couldn’t wait to share the good news with Zack.
Zack was in the middle of a training session with his instructor when Dominic walked in. “Excuse me, may I speak with Zack for a moment?”
After obtaining the instructor’s permission, Dominic led Zack out into the hallway for a private conversation. “Zack, I’ve got some exciting news for you!”
“Yeah? Just tell me already. Don’t keep me hanging!”
“Great news! I’ve secured a spot on a variety show called ‘Working With My Boss,’ and Ms. Lambert agreed to appear on the show. This is a fantastic opportunity!
“Just say the word, and I’ll take you to sign the contract tomorrow!”
Zack mumbled, “I’m genuinely surprised. I’ve only just joined, and already I’ve landed a gig. Compared to those still struggling in obscurity, starting as mere extras, I’ve had it easy.”
“Alright, I have no problem as well,” Zack responded instantly, without a hint of hesitation.
Dominic patted him on the shoulder. “Great. Since you’re in, I’ll handle the arrangements!”
Zack had training scheduled the next day, but Dominic arranged for his absence. He escorted him and his legal counsel to finalize the contract.
Chapter 335
The contract underwent dual review. The first was by legal counsel, then by Dominic. Only after both confirmed everything was in order was Zack
authorized to sign the contract.
“Here’s to a successful partnership!” Both sides rose to their feet and shook hands.
To celebrate Zack landing his first job, Dominic took him and their lawyer out for a big feast with a grand gesture.
After finalizing the contract, Bi Shuo, the assistant director of the variety show, called Elianna. “Ms. Stone, they’ve signed the contract.”
Crossing her arms, Elianna said coolly, “Understood. Good work.” She hung up and wired fifteen grand to Bi Shuo immediately.
