Chapter 970
Teresa thought Jonathan was just joking around, so she didn’t say anything more. Whether he was joking or not, only Jonathan himself knew.

Finally, they arrived in Nareigh. Teresa got off the plane, sunglasses on, holding Mike’s hand, while Jonathan cradled baby Felix in his arms.
Waiting to greet them were Gary, Benny, Miriam, and Edward. Miriam was the first to rush straight over to check out the baby.
“Oh my gosh, he’s so cute! Even when he was in the incubator, I thought he looked like Teresa, but now that I see him up close, he looks even more like Teresa,” Miriam said, looking super pleased.
Edward was the next to rush over, wanting to hold the baby, but Jonathan wouldn’t let him.
Benny came over and said, “Come on, let me hold him.”
Jonathan finally handed the baby over, reminding Benny to be careful.
Edward complained, “That’s not fair. You let Benny hold him, but not me.”
“You’re not reliable enough. I just can’t trust you with the baby,” Jonathan replied.
Edward was speechless.
Gary was in line, too. “Are you done yet? Let me hold him next.”
Miriam chimed in, “Hey, it’s my turn. I’m Teresa’s best friend, remember?”
Gary protested, “Come on, I’m his uncle. I should go first.”
Benny teased, “Why don’t you two settle it with rock–paper–scissors? Winner gets to hold the baby.”
Teresa couldn’t help but feel both amused and helpless. “Alright, enough. You can all take turns holding him when we get home. Let’s just head back first.”
At her words, Benny finally, though a bit reluctantly, handed the baby back to Jonathan, making sure to be extra careful.
“You know, he’s gained some weight. How much does he weigh now?” Benny asked.
“About 6.6 pounds,” Jonathan replied:
“Really? He’s growing fast,” Benny said. “Back when he was in the incubator, he was just a little over five pounds.”
Then they all piled into the cars and headed to Forlisle Rose Estates. Jonathan made a quick call and arranged for someone to bring Evelyn over in a bit
so she could check on Teresa.
Once they got back to the house, Teresa went to her room and asked Benny, “How’s it going with Yalena? What was the verdict?”
Benny answered honestly, “Fifteen days in detention.”
“What? She beat Lucas up like that and only got fifteen days in detention? She even deliberately tried to cause me to have an abortion!” Teresa exclaimed, clearly upset.
Benny sighed. “There’s nothing we can do. The Kelly family is doing everything they can to protect her. She didn’t go too far with Lucas, and half a month in detention is already enough for her to suffer.
“Honestly, we should thank Jonathan for having someone write Lucas’s medical records, making it look like he had stomach pain and was coughing up

blood, so he could fake being sick and stay in the hospital.”
Teresa was still frustrated, but she had to admit it made sense.

Looking at it another way, Lucas only ended up with some superficial wounds. Maybe that was actually a blessing in disguise.
Just then, Miriam walked in from another room. “Those men are fighting over who gets to hold the baby. I’m not going to fight with them over it. I’d rather just hug Teresa.”
Miriam rubbed her cheek against Teresa’s, thinking, ‘Teresa’s still the softest, way more comfortable to hug than the baby!
Teresa suddenly remembered something. “I need to go to South Mountain to give thanks for my wish coming true,”
She had gone to South Mountain before to pray for her baby’s safety, and since Felix had arrived safe and sound, Teresa felt she had to go back and keep
her word.
Miriam said, “No need to rush. Just rest up a bit more, and when you’re ready, I’ll go with you.”
“Or you could just let Jonathan take you to South Mountain,” Benny piped up from the side.
“I remember Jonathan was at South Mountain before, too…” Benny said.
‘What was Jonathan doing at South Mountain?‘ Teresa thought. But before Benny could finish, his phone rang.
“What’s the matter?” Benny frowned, his tone turning serious. “Oh… Really? Alright, I got it. I’ll inform the family.”
Benny hung up and turned to Teresa to explain. “It’s from the court. Jennifer’s case is scheduled. The trial will be in three days.”
