Chapter 966

She glanced at Jonathan, who was still asleep beside her. He’d worn himself out. She had no idea where he’d learned those weird massage tricks. Jonathan massaged her for hours, and she finally felt relief

She’d just given birth a few days ago, so of course, there was no way they could do anything intimate. Still, she couldn’t help but blush last night

She never expected him to stay by her side through all the trouble, fussing over her until the middle of the night

Someone was at the door. Michael poked his head in and called, Mom!”

Teresa put a finger to her lips. Shh, your dad’s sleeping. Let him sleep a little longer. She knew he must be exhausted

Michael finally noticed Jonathan sleeping next to Teresa and let out a surprise, Whoa, Mr. Lime. When did he get back? Hmph, he didn’t even tell me!”

He came back really early yesterday morning,Teresa whispered softly. You were already asleep, so of course he didn’t get a chance to tell you. Do you

want some breakfast?”

Michael nodded. He was there to have breakfast with Teresa

Go ahead and eat first,Teresa said gently. I’m not hungry yet. I’ll eat with your dad a little later.”

Alright. You two get some good sleep. Byebye!Michael said sweetly, carefully closing the door and tiptoeing out

Teresa lay back down, finally able to try and get some rest

Just then, her phone rang. It was Lucas. Teresa, Mom and Isabel are back,Lucas said. I didn’t tell Mom anything about you. I’m doing fine, and we’re all waiting for you to come home.”

That’s good. Make sure you rest up and heal. Once the baby’s out of the incubator, I’ll come back to Nareigh,Teresa replied

Sure,” Lucas replied

After hanging up, Teresa finally felt like she could get some real rest, no more pain, no more misery, not after all the trouble these past few days. It was the first good night’s sleep she’d had in ages

She wasn’t sure how long she’d been asleep, but when she finally woke up, Jonathan was already out of bed

The curtains were still drawn, so she had no idea what time it was outside. Teresa squinted and saw the man in front of her, broadshouldered and lean-

waisted, getting dressed

He’d flown all the way from Nareigh, crossing hundreds of miles, just because her milk was coming in and she was in pain. He was quietly fastening his

belt

Teresa found herself just staring at his back, completely lost in thought, watching him for a long while. She couldn’t quite describe how she felt inside. Her heart ached a little, but there was a touch of sweetness too

She remembered how, back when they were still married, he once told her that after they had kids, he’d take care of her with all his heart

When Jonathan finally turned around, it was too late for Teresa to pretend she was still asleep, so she greeted him

Does it still hurt?Jonathan asked

No, it doesn’t hurt anymore,Teresa replied. The postpartum nanny said I need to stick to lighter foods for the next few days.”

Alright, I’ll let the dining staff downstairs know,Jonathan said

Yeah, thanks,Teresa said softly. Whether it was him coming over last night or helping out with Lucas, she was grateful for it all

Jonathan finished putting on his pants and sat down next to Teresa, putting on his shirt. I was in the middle of a meeting yesterday, but I just left before it was even over. I told my team I was coming to see you.”

Teresa blinked in surprise. As Jonathan buttoned up his shirt, he added, What was I supposed to say? Sorry guys, my wife’s got sore tits from breastfeeding?”

Who says I’m your wife?Teresa retorted, rolling over and turning her back to him

Jonathan shot her a glance and gave a little snort. Back in the old days, people used to call any young, pretty girl wife.”

Teresa’s breath caught

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Once Teresa and Jonathan were both dressed, Jonathan went to answer the door

Mr. Lynn, you’re here as well. We have some great news for you and Mrs. Lynn.”
