“I had Cynthia take you back.” Jaxson released my 

hand and walked 

away. 

Caroline, watching him go, clenched the bracelet, malice in her 

eyes. 

“Damn Charlotte.” 

Who did she think she was, trying to steal someone’s man? 

She pulled out her phone, walking to the side, quickly dialing a number.

I reached the parking lot, surprised to see Reynald following. 

I turned.“Reynald?” 

He stopped in front of me, shrugging.“I believe you, Charlotte. You’re not that kind of person.” 

I hesitated.“Why did you believe me?” 

“I trust James‘ judgment,” he said, crossing his arms.“Mr. Kendall never misjudges people, and neither do I, especially when it comes to identifying women of questionable character.” 

Reynald had countless female admirers, earning the nickname “friend of women.” 

He’d seen it all, women trying tricks, only to fail. 

I smiled. “Thank you.” 

“You’re welcome, Charlotte,” he said, moving closer.“Do you need any help?” 

I looked up, meeting his gaze, puzzled. A voice, indifferent, from behind.“Is Mr. Steward interested in her?” 

I knew who it was but didn’t look back. 

Caroline’s actions were infuriating, but Jaxson was the most embarrassing. 

Reynald tutted.“Mr. Hamilton, how could you abandon your girlfriend like that? Isn’t she official yet?” 

Ignoring him, Jaxson stopped in front of us, grabbing my arm, pulling me to his side.“I need to talk to her.” 

“Because of your girlfriend?” 

“Nothing to do with Mr. Steward.” 

“Her affairs, of course, are my concern.”
