Chapter 6
Milton Osborne, one of his close friends, couldn’t help but giggle. “Woman trouble again, huh, Timo- thy? Looks like your fiancee hates Johnny’s guts. She’s making you choose between her and him.”
Timothy irritably ran his fingers through his hair. “Who knows what’s up with her this time? Ignore her. Let’s drink.”
Just then, someone pushed the door open.
A woman in a sexy red slip dress walked in elegantly-it was Maryanne.
She was the heiress of the Dolton family and a popular A-list actress.
Thanks to the lavish birthday party Johnny threw for her yesterday, her social media following had sky- rocketed to twenty million. She was now, without a doubt, the center of attention.
If she married Johnny, she’d be the most prominent woman in Seaville.
The mere thought that she’d be the wife of the richest man in town made her shiver in excitement.
Ignoring the gazes filled with either amazement or jealousy, she walked toward Johnny, sat next to him, naturally linked arms with him, and rested her head against his shoulder.
“John, can I be your plus-one for the Padilla Group anniversary this weekend?”
She no longer wanted to stay invisible.
Three years was long enough.
Johnny’s gaze softened. “I’ll have someone order a
a gown for
you tomorrow.”
Thrilled, she grinned. “Yay! You’re the best, John.”
Milton raised his glass. “I guess congratulations are in order, Maryanne.”
Timothy nodded. “The three-year agreement is almost up, huh? Everything you’ve endured finally pays off, Maryanne.”
Obviously, both Milton and Timothy wanted to see Maryanne with Johnny. After all, Johnny had never brought Roxanne to hang out with them.

Besides, Johnny and Roxanne’s marriage was a secret. Hardly anyone outside their inner circle knew.
To them, Roxanne was, at best, Johnny’s wife in name only. He could dump her at any time.
Maryanne gracefully picked up a glass and clinked it with them. “Thank you, Timothy, Milton.”
Heirs from three of Seaville’s four major families were backing her. Once Johnny divorced Roxanne, she could marry him rightfully.
Just then, Milton’s phone dinged. Seeing the message, he was so thrilled that he almost sprang from the sofa.
“No way! Ms. R is coming back!”
He held his phone up, the bold headline drawing all eyes to the news that Ms. R, the founder of Philomel Tech, would be at the Global Medical Summit next month.
Milton’s voice was filled with ecstasy, and even his eyes reddened. “That’s awesome! Finally, there’s a chance for my grandma!”
Sheila Osborne, his grandmother, had lung cancer. The doctors had announced she didn’t have much time left.
The news couldn’t have come at a better time.
Those around him were all stunned.
“Ms. R? That Ms. R? The one who came up with the cancer treatment equation three years ago and then just vanished amid all that admiration?”
“Ms. R is back? For real? I thought something bad happened.”
“Philomel Tech is totally untouchable in the medical world. That equation saved countless cancer pa- tients’ lives!”
“Ms. R appeared out of nowhere, amazing everyone with a single equation, and then-poof-vanished into thin air. Ms. R’s comeback is nothing short of explosive. I bet the Global Medical Summit next month is gonna be huge.”
Johnny sat not far away from them. His deep-set eyes were lit up with excitement at once.
The Padilla Group’s medical industry was undoubtedly top-notch domestically.
Everyone recognized him as the chosen one, for he had developed the nationally leading smart health- care system and had become the richest in Seaville within four years.

His extraordinary leadership had expanded the Padilla Group’s business to over eighty countries in the
world.
But… Ms. R?
Ms. R was a legend in the medical world, a leading force.
To him, Ms. R was like an unknown island, radiating a mysterious power that drew him irresistibly closer.
If he could invite Ms. R over, the Padilla Group’s position in the global medical field would be unparal-
leled.
