Timothy shoved everyone aside, strode toward Chloe, and grasped her arm with great force.
“Come with me,” he hissed.
Without giving her any time to react, he forcibly took her out of the crowd and headed in another direc-
tion.
The noisy crowd was soon left behind.
Soon, Roxanne was led out of the club. As she smelt the slightly cool air, the coat was finally lifted.
She looked up, only to meet a pair of deep-set eyes.
It was Johnny.
He still stood upright, yet his expression was grim. He studied her, his gaze probing, laced with a faint hint of fury.
Then he let go of her wrist and parted his thin lips, his voice carrying the same usual mockery.
“Good for you, Roxanne, hanging out in a place like this.”
His voice carried a hint of suppressed anger as his gaze swept across her slightly sexy dress. “This is what you wear? Stop disgracing my family.”
He took a step forward, his presence commanding. “If there was a reporter back in there who took pho- tos, who do you think Grandpa will deal with? You, or me?”
Roxanne looked up, her gaze calm and devoid of any fear. Instead, it was filled with fatigue, firmness, and an air of finality-the look of someone who had already let everything go.
She said, her words nothing but harsh, “Johnny, see you at the courthouse tomorrow at nine in the morning.”
The air immediately froze.
Johnny finally lost it, spitting, “What did you say? I can’t even criticize you anymore. Is that right?”
Her voice was chillingly icy. “If you have something to do, have someone deliver the divorce papers to me tomorrow. That works, too.”

Utterly pissed off, he let out a derisive laugh.

He ridiculed, “Who begged to marry me so desperately back then? Roxanne, all of this is your own choice.”
He found her utterly unreasonable. Everything was her own doing, wasn’t it?
“Indeed. You’re absolutely right,” she said frankly, deadpan.
“I was an idiot back then who made the wrong choice. So, I’m doing everything I can to fix it.”
Her voice was exceptionally calm, carrying an unmistakable resolution.
After saying this, she turned to leave the suffocating place, not looking at him at all.
“Roxanne!”
He reacted quickly, gripping her wrist so hard that it hurt her.
Staring at her, he threatened, his gaze sullen, “You’ll have nothing once you leave me. Are you sure this is what you want?”
She let out a soft, self-mocking laugh, as if she heard an ironic joke. “You talk as though I ever owned anything at all during our three years of marriage.”
All of a sudden, she found it hard to breathe, her eyes reddening.
He was rendered speechless. How could he possibly refute it? The truth was undeniable-they had never shared a life under one roof, and he had never paid her enough attention.
Just then, a drunkard, humming, staggered in their direction and was about to bump into Roxanne.
Almost instinctively, Johnny yanked her into his embrace.
His strong masculine aura, blended with the familiar scent of his cologne, instantly engulfed her.
She froze. Before she could struggle, his voice rang above her head. “I’ll take you home.”
“No need.”
She pushed him away hard, her gaze icy, her voice detached,
At the same time, glaring headlights pierced through the night as a sleek, luxury Maybach pulled over on the side of the road quietly.
The door opened, and a tall, beefy man stepped out.

He was dressed in a tailored black suit, his chiseled features and intimidating presence keeping others at bay.
He headed straight toward them.
Johnny’s pupils shrank imperceptibly as he saw the man, the anger on his face immediately replayed by politeness and detachment.
“What a coincidence, Mr. Sowle.”
Marlon glanced at him before shifting his gaze toward Roxanne.
His eyes were laced with gentleness as he said to her, his voice deep, magnetic, “I’ll take you home.”
She nodded gently, almost without any hesitation.
Remembering something, she added, “Chloe’s still in there.”
“Don’t worry,” he said concisely, “I’ll have someone go find her.”
Only then did she relax. She then walked directly toward the Maybach, not even shooting Johnny an- other glance.
Johnny stood in place and clenched his fists, his face livid.
Rage surged through his entire body as he watched her walk toward another man without hesitation.
The last shred of sanity warned him it wasn’t time to have a total fallout with Marlon just yet.
He took a deep breath to suppress his fury and then squeezed a perfect yet utterly icy smile.
“Then… Thanks for giving my wife a ride, Mr. Sowle.”
He deliberately emphasized the words “my wife”, seemingly announcing again that Roxanne was his.
Expressionless, Marlon instructed his bodyguard to go inside and find Chloe, his every movement ex- uding chilling authority,
Soon, his bodyguard led Chloe out of the club. Shortly after they slid into the Maybach, it pulled away and disappeared into the night.
Johnny made a call, his voice icy, “Go to Roxanne’s apartment and keep watch. If Marlon stays the night, report it to me at once.”
“Yes, Mr. Padilla.” Kennard, wearing nothing but white shorts, was ready for bed. He immediately re- sponded seriously before scrambling to get dressed.
