This woman…

Alexander’s throat tightened.

He watched fluent French flow from her rosy lips with distinctive cadence.

She knew French?

Moreover… she’d addressed Mr. Berry by name-cleaware he was Fruyca’s ambassador, pivotal to the Ford family’s interests.

How many more secrets did she hold?

She was like a forbidden tome with an ornate cover. Though knowing its pages might bring ruin, he couldn’t quell the urge to explore.

So damned alluring!

Marianne embraced her gratefully:

“Darling, thank you! I hope you’ll visit Fruyca someday so I may properly host you.”

Lisa smiled faintly. “Opportunity will come. I adore Fruyca.”

Mr. Berry abruptly asked Alexander:

“Chase, might this exquisite lady be your esteemed madam president?”

Before Alexander could answer, an icy voice cut through:

“She’s my companion: Miss Bennett, Mr. Berry.”

Aaron appeared, his large hand resting lightly on Lisa’s fragrant shoulder.

Alexander felt the abruptness of having his rook taken just as victory seemed certain.

Vivian suddenly approached, linking arms with him:

“Alexander, let’s watch fireworks on deck.”

Seeing Aaron chatting happily with Mr. Barbara Jr. Berry, they excused themselves from the small gathering.

Soon after, thunderous booms echoed across the sky.

Fireworks had begun, and guests gradually moved outdoors.

Against the night sky, deafening “bang-bang-bang” sounds erupted as brilliant fireworks bloomed like enormous colorful flowers across the deep velvet darkness.

Tangerine reds, emerald greens, vivid purples, shimmering golds… countless sparks trailing long tails intertwined and exploded, illuminating the entire sea area as bright as daylight, yet dreamlike.

The fireworks barge floated approximately three nautical miles from the Ford Family’s main yacht.

This distance was perfect-far enough to escape the main vessel’s bustle yet close enough to capture the full spectacle, like watching a flowing, magnificent cinematic masterpiece.

“Wow, breathtaking!”

“Quick, take photos!

This angle is perfect!”

Guests raised their phones en masse, shutters clicking nonstop, trying to freeze this ultimate romance and luxury.

Above, Ford Family’s drone fleet circled silently like loyal eyes, recording the grand, beautiful moment from every angle.

Vivian melted against Alexander’s solid chest like a peacock finally spreading its plumage.

Tilting her face upward, her eyes sparkled brighter than the fireworks-a complex mix of exhilaration, infatuation, and fulfilled longing.

“Alexander, look… so beautiful…”

Her voice carried deliberate coquetry and a tremble.

As a waiter passed with a tray, Vivian swiftly grabbed two glasses of golden champagne.

Turning, she offered one to Alexander, her gaze locking onto him with burning intensity.

“Alexander,” she inhaled deeply, her tone turning utterly sincere.

“I was… foolish before. So immature.

When you were at your lowest, needing companionship most… I left you for… for that bullshit career.”

She paused, weighing words or perhaps recalling that shameful past.

“Truth is… I wanted to become strong enough, rise high enough… to deserve standing by your side as your equal, not your burden.”

Her eyes reddened slightly, voice thick with emotion.

“Thankfully, God still favors me. Tonight… the one beside you remains me.”

Alexander watched her, a faint smile curling his lips, tenderness lingering in his eyes.

“I never blamed you. As long as you behave… everything you desire can be yours.”

Everything?

Vivian’s emotions skyrocketed!

Was this his promise?

Tonight, she’d offer herself to him on this romantic sea.

Raising her glass, her gaze turned resolute yet hopeful.

“Alexander, to us… forever and ever.”

“Clink-”

The crisp chime of glasses pierced distinctly through the fireworks’ roar.

Both tipped their heads back, draining the champagne in one go.

Vivian set down her glass, contentedly leaning into him again as if merging completely into his life.

Just then, Alexander’s phone vibrated jarringly in his pocket.

He frowned slightly, pulling out his phone to check the caller ID. To Vivian, he said:

“I need to step away for a moment.”

With that, he turned and walked toward a relatively quiet corner by the ship’s railing.

Andrew’s voice came through the phone, reporting something in rapid tones.

Alexander listened silently, his deep eyes gradually frosting over like chilled ice.

After hanging up, he stood still, his sharp gaze deliberately scanning and searching through the crowd on the deck.

Matthew laughed and chatted with several socialites nearby.

Bruce held a wine glass, speaking softly with a lady in the corner.

But… Lisa was nowhere to be seen.

The woman who always stirred his emotions had vanished.

Wait-Aaron was missing too.

Those two…

An uncontrollable thought flashed through Alexander’s mind.

Where were they?

Could they be having a secret rendezvous in some hidden corner amid all this commotion?

A surge of nameless anger mixed with irritation instantly flooded his heart.

He practically gritted his teeth as he dialed Andrew again, his voice low and icy:

“Find my wife. Now!

Immediately!

Bring her to me!”

After hanging up, Alexander suppressed his frustration and turned to rejoin the crowd.
