In this life, she would never repeat her mistakes.
From now on, she would live only for herself.
Three days later, it was Leo’s birthday.
The celebration was held at the city’s most luxurious hotel.
Crystal chandeliers refracted dazzling light, and a champagne tower sparkled in the center of the
ballroom. Dominic, as always, booked the entire floor for Leo’s lavish birthday party.
Elara stood in the corner, watching Leo and Mia, one on each side, holding Cassandra’s hands, flitting around her like joyful birds. The children clung to Cassandra throughout, deliberately ignoring
their birth mother.
Dominic stood not far away, his long fingers holding a champagne flute, his gaze occasionally falling on Cassandra, his eyes holding a tenderness Elara had never received.

“No wonder!” Someone next to him suddenly understood. “A first love is a first love. Even without the title of wife, she’ll always be the most important person.”
“Some people, what’s the point of scheming their way in?” Someone cast a scornful glance at Elara. “What’s the point of having children? They still can’t win their husband’s heart. I think she’s destined for a lonely life.”

She took a deep breath and turned towards the elevator.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, a hand suddenly slid in.
Cassandra elegantly stepped inside on her high heels, her red lips slightly curved.
“The divorce waiting period ends in three days,” she met Elara’s eyes. “You’ll keep your promise and
leave, won’t you?”
Elara pressed the 1st floor button. “Of course.”
“I want to leave more than anyone.”
Cassandra finally smiled with satisfaction. “Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of this family for you.””
“Anyway, Dominic and the children don’t like you. They’ll slowly forget you.”
The elevator slowly descended. Elara didn’t answer.
Suddenly-
“Boom!”
With a tremendous crash, the elevator shuddered violently, then plunged into darkness.
“Ah-!” Cassandra shrieked, frantically pulling out her phone. “Dominic! Help! The elevator broke
