After taking a few steps, he spoke again. “Check what this woman is doing at school.”
David nodded hurriedly. “Yes, sir.”

No one knew that this scene had been captured in a photograph from a distance and posted in the university’s class group–specifically sent to Aurora. “Aurora, look. Isn’t this your sister? Why is she talking to a construction worker?”
Though most had graduated, many students remained at the university preparing for exams, especially medical students. This university group was created privately during graduation, with almost all classmates in the same major included.
The person who posted the message, Lily Green, had been a good friend of Aurora’s in college.
She had spotted Isla at the school gate earlier and thought she had been mistaken. Then she saw a man by her side, curiosity got the better of her, and she followed–only to witness this
scene.
Aurora and Isla were in the same year, attended the same university, and were in the same major.
People often said they looked very similar. Her brother had noticed it, reported it to the family, and only then did they start suspecting whether she was their long–lost eldest daughter.
When the paternity test confirmed it, it was true. Aurora naturally accepted the reality and embraced the whole family.
In the photo, only Isla’s face was visible, and the man’s head was topped with that conspicuous yellow safety helmet.
Aurora quickly spoke up. “Everyone, don’t misunderstand. That’s my sister and her husband. They just got married not long ago. Most of you probably didn’t know. My sister is always low- key, she just somehow came to school today.”
“Low–key? Shouldn’t she be too embarrassed to show her face?”
“Maybe she heard that Gideon’s student was back in the country, so she came to get familiar with the scene?”
“She still has the face to come to school? After what happened back then, if it were me, I’d have died. And she’s alive and well. I have to admire her nerve.”
“Don’t say that, Aurora’s still here.”

“Why not? Aurora always explains and defends her, and she in the end, even tries to dump the blame on Aurora. People like that, even if they’re my own sister, I wouldn’t indulge them. Aurora’s just too kind to hold it against her.”
The discussion about Isla in the chat group became lively.
She had always been a hot topic in their major, and naturally, that hadn’t changed.
People had thought she was abroad, and no one expected her to return.
“Felix isn’t with her anymore? How come she’s married?”
“She’s so messy; who knows how many people she’s been with. How could Felix want her?”
“True. And now some naive guy has taken the chance.”
“I can’t imagine how the school’s former beauty ended up like this. That guy’s wearing a construction helmet–is he actually working on–site, Aurora?”
Aurora explained, “No, it’s not like that. My brother–in–law’s family used to be wealthy, but they went bankrupt later. That’s why it’s like this.”
The discussions in the group grew more intense.
Aurora glanced at the messages, a faint smile playing on her lips.
She pulled up Owen’s number and called him. “Owen, it seems Isla has come to Cloudie University. I’m not sure if she’s looking for me. I’m a little scared, but don’t worry–I’ll handle it. No matter what, Isla is still my sister, she wouldn’t harm me, right?”
Owen’s angry voice came through the phone. “She dares.”

Inside the office, Isla had just sat down when Logan, irritated, spoke. “What’s wrong with this lousy school? I told you to keep things low–key, yet they invited so many people and even alerted reporters. I heard a few doctors from the central hospital came too. If our mentor hadn’t insisted on bringing you here, we wouldn’t have come to this mess.”
Isla calmly poured herself some tea and took a light sip. “I chose this school myself. It has nothing to do with our teacher.”
“Ah?” Logan was slightly surprised. “Why Cloudie University? Weren’t other schools inviting
you too?”
Isla replied coolly. “Of course, I have my reasons. Talk less, do more.”

“And what about the experiment? I heard the principal brought many people to observe your experiment, even doctors from several hospitals.” Logan rubbed his temples in frustration.
Isla tugged at the corner of her lips with a hint of mockery. “I never agreed to go. But I suppose I could give them a little gift.”
Logan was about to ask more, but Isla cut him off. “I have class soon. Go tell those old fools clearly. If they dare to use our mentor’s reputation for publicity again, they’ll bear the consequences themselves.”
Logan straightened immediately and nodded.
The title of a world–class medical professor was not to be treated lightly.
Isla had always kept a low profile since returning, knowing that being too conspicuous would only bring trouble and draw unwanted attention.
