“You don’t remember?
If they brought you any later, you would have been cooked!”
Matthew said exaggeratedly.
Andrew knocked and entered. The moment he saw a conscious Lisa, his eyes immediately lit up.
“Ma’am, you’re finally awake. You scared… the boss to death.”
Scared Alexander to death?
Andrew caught a trace of confusion from her suspicious look.
“Ma’am, you had a high fever at noon, it shot straight up to 41.2 degrees! The boss personally brought you to the hospital. He charged in shouting for help, his whole body shaking!”
“You’ve no idea – he carried you the whole way while dodging media and paparazzi, making sure no- body got your photo.”
“Tsk tsk, Boss, you were seriously manly this time.”
Andrew started rambling nonstop.
“When you were on the IV drip, he just stood frozen in place, eyes all red.”
He pointed to the hospital room corner, then lowered his voice behind his hand, “I bet he cried!”
“After all these years working for him, I’ve never seen him so panicked and flustered.”
Matthew and Lisa exchanged glances.
They felt like they’d just heard a corny joke!
“Andrew, showbiz is missing out big time without you.
What an actor!
Matthew rolled her eyes at him – total flatterer.

“Ma’am, you must be hungry. I’ll grab you some food.”
Andrew rubbed his head, grinned, and slipped out.
Right outside the door, he speed–dialed Alexander. “Boss, Ma’am’s awake! But her eyes are red… proba- bly wants to see you!”
“I’m coming now!”
Andrew clenched his fist in a YES motion.
Without him, this family would totally fall apart!
Lisa had no idea what was going on, but Matthew was talking with great animation.
“Lisa, Vivian is done for this time!
Heaven’s really helping us!”
“Now the whole internet knows she knowingly became the other woman, breaking into someone’s mar- riage!
Let’s see how she keeps up her pure innocent act!”
Lisa had just gotten over her fever and was still weak, her mind working slowly.
She looked at Matthew, confused. “What do you mean?”
“You don’t know?”
Matthew leaned closer, lowering her voice but unable to hide her excitement.
“This morning Vivian held her fan event, then your marriage license with Alexander got exposed! Now everyone knows she’s the homewrecker!
Rock–solid proof!”
“Her fans turned on her right then – so satisfying…”
Lisa’s heart jumped. So… the whole world knew about her secret marriage to Alexander?
She took Matthew’s phone and opened a webpage.

Chapter59
[Homewrecker of the Century]… Glaring headlines flooded the screen.
No wonder… no wonder Alexander blew up at her earlier, demanding what she was playing at.
So that’s what he meant.
She’d thought he meant the Community Hospital fire and stubbornly admitted it!
Lisa felt the room spinning.
Now the plot veered off again – with their marriage exposed, the divorce might get complicated.
She looked up, puzzled. “Who leaked the marriage license?”
Her voice held a faint rasp.
“Who knows? Guess heaven couldn’t stand her anymore – wants her ruined!”
Lisa thought: only a handful had seen that license.
Who’d expose her and Alexander’s marriage license now?
This was dragging her down too!
Like some hidden eye watching.
“Oh,” Matthew remembered, “the police called today.”
“Said Patricia’s lips are sealed tight as a clam – won’t talk.”
“Bet she’s waiting for that witch Cynthia to rescue her.”
Matthew curled her lip, sneering.
At Cynthia’s name, Lisa’s face froze, eyes turning icy.
Her lips curved in a cold smile.
“Then let her rot inside, being her master’s scapegoat forever.”
“Cynthia…” she spat, each word dripping hate, “I won’t let her get away!”
Lisa stayed silent but calculated fast: the Campbells would fall soon, but Cynthia… must pay.
And that license leaker… who?
Why?

“Matthew, my phone’s not here – tell Aaron I’m fine so he won’t worry.”
Lisa handed back the phone.
“Sure, no problem.”
Matthew agreed readily, pulling out her own phone.
Just then, the hospital door swung open.
Alexander walked in.
He brought the outside chill with him, face dark as storm clouds.
Matthew immediately put away her phone and tactfully said, “Um… I’ll go get you some hot water.”
With that, she slipped out and thoughtfully closed the door behind her.
The hospital room held only Lisa and Alexander now.
The air instantly thickened, becoming so stifling it choked the breath.
Lisa lifted her gaze to meet his icy stare, momentarily at a loss for words as awkward tension hung heavy between them.
He approached the bedside without speaking, frost in his eyes. Suddenly he reached out to touch her forehead.
Lisa instinctively flinched away, refusing any contact with this man.
He embraced Vivian daily–she found him repulsive!
The atmosphere crackled with suppressed fury, smoldering embers of resentment in both their eyes.
