Chapter 76
Andrew continued, his voice low,
“You know he was badly wounded then, yet he forbade anyone from telling you.”
Forbade anyone from telling her?
Why?
Lisa’s thoughts churned wildly. Why did he know the truth yet choose silence? Choose to protect Vivian?
“If Vivian hadn’t threatened him with that owed favor, Alexander
would never help her again.”
Andrew’s words dropped like a boulder into the stormy sea of Lisa’s
heart.
“A favor?
What favor?”
Lisa finally spoke, voice parched. She lifted her head, eyes fixed on Andrew, brimming with confusion and inquiry.
Andrew hesitated about answering when two knocks sounded at the door. He swiftly withdrew the tablet and stood attentively aside.
Alexander pushed the hospital door open again, walking to the

bedside without a word.
He bent down, reached out, and scooped Lisa up–blanket and all–in
one motion.
Caught off guard, Lisa gasped as her body left the bed, heart lurching violently.
“What are you doing!”
She twisted her head, meeting Alexander’s icy expression.
“Let me go!”
She struggled, jolting the wound on her arm. White–hot pain shot through her, drawing a sharp inhale.
But Alexander carefully avoided her injury, locking her firmly against him. “Stop moving! Tear those stitches open, and they’ll have to sew you back up!”
“Alexander!
Release me!
Did you hear me?!”
Her voice rose to a shrill, frantic pitch.
Alexander ignored her completely, striding toward the exit with her in
his arms.
“I’m taking you somewhere safer to recover. This place isn’t secure- you’ve made too many enemies!”

He offered no further explanation.
Lisa froze. Had the aristocratic family tracked her down?
The Global started next week. They’d already entered the country.
Were yesterday’s kidnappers from them too?
Impossible–that lunatic couldn’t be connected to the aristocratic family. If they moved against her, they’d send mercenaries.
Did Alexander know she was The N Pioneer?
“What’s safety to you?!
Put me down!
I don’t need your protection.”
Lisa writhed in his hold, trying to kick him.
But her strength was nothing against Alexander’s.
The man carried her, his steps steady as he traversed the corridor, heading straight for the hospital rooftop helipad.
Andrew was already waiting there.
Fifteen minutes later.
Alexander stepped onto the helicopter’s boarding ladder, holding Lisa
in his arms.
He settled her into a seat, leaning over to fasten her seatbelt.

Lisa continued cursing him, struggling to push him away, but Alexander methodically secured her before taking the opposite seat.
The cabin door sealed shut.
The helicopter ascended gradually, soaring toward the western outskirts of Seattle.
Shortly after, a black Maybach arrived at the hospital entrance.
Aaron watched the roaring helicopter in the sky, his eyes darkening as he slammed his fist against the car door.
He knew he was too late!
Damn Alexander!
Lisa stared out the window at the shrinking hospital, her heart sinking inch by inch.
She turned to face Alexander across the aisle.
The man was watching her, his expression utterly unreadable.
Suddenly, the helicopter banked sharply right. Lisa gasped, yelping in alarm.
With a thud, Alexander lunged across, wrapping his arms around her.
Still trembling from fright, Lisa instinctively planted a kiss on his chiseled left cheek.
Alexander arched an eyebrow. “Quite proactive, aren’t we?”

Lisa’s face flushed crimson. She squeezed her eyes shut–out of sight, out of mind.
Andrew’s gaze flickered: That pilot deserves a raise and a bonus.
Twenty minutes later, the helicopter landed smoothly at Riverside
Manor.
Just twenty kilometers from Seattle’s Coastal Urban District, it boasted picturesque mountains, clear waters, and sweeping views.
It was conveniently accessible for Alexander to handle company affairs.
He’d purchased this mountain years ago, originally planning a luxury
resort.
Later, when Victor’s health declined, he commissioned this estate nestled against the slopes and waterways.
It featured meticulously curated exotic gardens, organic orchards, even stables–every corner exuding serene and luxurious tranquility.
Sadly, the old man preferred his familiar family manor, leaving this
vast estate vacant.
The cabin door opened with a whoosh.
Alexander leaned down, his long fingers unbuckling Lisa’s seatbelt.
His arm slid around her, ready to lift her up.
Lisa shoved him hard, her tone brittle: “I can walk myself!”

Alexander arched an eyebrow, silent, just watching her.
Lisa bit her lip, struggling to stand.
The moment her right foot touched the floor, searing pain shot through her ankle. Her legs buckled, sending her tumbling forward!
Alexander reacted instantly, his arm snapping out to catch her firmly against his chest.
He looked down, a teasing curve at his corner of his mouth: “Oh?
So you wanted to throw yourself into my arms?”
His warm breath brushed her ear.
Lisa flushed crimson with a mix of anger and embarrassment.
“Let go!
Get Andrew to help me!”
Andrew, standing nearby, subtly stretched his neck, about to step forward.
