Evelyn nodded and said, “Let’s bring Lucas home first, and then we’ll talk.”

Lucas was still in the hospital, and Yalena was being held in detention for the assault and hadn’t been released yet. Teresa and Evelyn went to the hospital together to bring Lucas
home.
“Mom, Teresa, you both came,” Lucas said.
Evelyn walked over, looking him up and down. Seeing that Lucas’s injuries were almost healed, she felt relieved and said, “Let’s go home. From now on, our family will be together and happy.”
“Okay,” Lucas replied, hugging Evelyn. Then he hugged Teresa, too. Seeing how pale Teresa looked, Lucas’s heart ached as he gently brushed her cheek.
He said, “Why aren’t you resting at home? Why do you look so exhausted?”
“I’m fine, Lucas. Are you all better now?” Teresa asked.
Lucas patted Teresa’s shoulder and said, “Yeah, I’m all good now. Come on, let’s go home.”
Evelyn drove the car, and Lucas and Teresa settled in the back seat.
Seeing the two kids in the rearview mirror, Evelyn couldn’t help but tear up. She said, “If Hannah were here too, our family would be complete.”
Seeing the confused look on Lucas’s face, Teresa quickly filled him in on everything that had happened lately.
Lucas finally got it–so it was Jennifer, Peggy’s real daughter, who’d gotten herself into trouble with the law. “Teresa, did you get hurt by any of this?” he asked.
“No, I’m fine,” Teresa said softly.
Lucas said, “That’s all that matters. With Jonathan on your side, I’m sure everything will be fine.”
Evelyn chimed in, “What can he really do? Honestly, I think Teresa should just never have anything to do with him again. They can just discuss the kids and then go their separate ways.”
Lucas frowned and said, “Mom, that’s not fair to Jonathan. He’s the kids‘ dad–how can they just stop seeing each other?”
“Lucas, you don’t understand. After everything that’s happened between them, there are no

By the time they got back to Rosary Estates, Evelyn parked the car–the one she kept at Nareigh.
Teresa glanced at the Rolls–Royce Spectre in the garage; it had been sitting there, unmoved for ages. She remembered the conversations she once had with Jonathan.
“I had a purple one custom–made for you, with a starry sky roof. I think you’ll like it,” Jonathan had said.
“So, have a kid for you, get a car. If I give you another one, what else do I get?” Teresa teased.
“Are you serious? If you give me another daughter, the whole family fortune is yours,” Jonathan replied.
Suddenly, Evelyn’s voice snapped Teresa out of her thoughts. She gave herself a small shake, then stepped inside the house. She thought, ‘That car is always meant to go back to him.’
“I’ll make some ravioli for us. Lucas, what kind of filling do you want?” Evelyn asked.
“Anything’s fine with me. But making them is a lot of trouble. How about I just buy some?” Lucas suggested.
“It’s no trouble. The ones you buy from the store can’t compare to homemade. I’ll go get things ready,” Evelyn said, already planning to make a big meal to welcome Lucas back.
Seeing Evelyn making ravioli, Michael ran into the kitchen and asked, “Evelyn, are you making ravioli?”
Evelyn smiled and said, “Yeah. You like ravioli, right, Mike? I’ll make extra.”
Michael clapped his hands excitedly and said, “My dad loves ravioli too. Can I call him and ask him to come over and eat with us?”
Evelyn paused and frowned. Just as she was about to say something, Teresa walked over and gently patted Michael’s head.
Teresa said, “Go ahead and call your dad. Ask him if he wants to come. I’ll call him too in a bit.”
“Mom’s the best,” Michael shouted, running off to call Jonathan.
