Chapter 941
A nurse stepped out from inside the delivery room. Jonathan was the first to rush forward, standing guard at the door, Gary and Benny hurried over as well.
The nurse took off her mask, let out a deep breath, and said, “Mr. Lynn, your wife just had a baby boy.”
Hearing this, Benny and Gary both let out a sigh of relief.
“Mr. Lynn, but the baby…” the nurse started to say, but was quickly interrupted.
“How is my wife? Jonathan asked. His only concern right now was for Teresa.
“She passed out,” the nurse said, a bit nervously.
Jonathan’s heart dropped. He instinctively moved to rush inside, but stopped himself. He couldn’t go in without a sterite gown.
“Mr. Lynn, don’t panic. What I mean is, your wife just fell asleep,” the nurse quickly explained, trying to reassure him.
She continued, “The baby looks healthy for now, but since he was born early, he’s in an incubator and will need to be watched for at least a week.”
Those words hit Jonathan like a knife to the heart. Teresa had gone into premature labor and fainted. His child was born early and now lay in an incubator, already facing a difficult fate.
Jonathan stood there, and then slammed his fist hard into the wall beside him. He hit it again, right in the same dented spot. It was like this was the only way he could let out all the pain and regret churning inside him.
Gary saw Jonathan’s hand was already bloody and bruised, and was about to step forward, but Benny stopped him. He k Jonathan must be in a really bad place and needed to vent.
Gary felt even guiltier. Jonathan had put his trust in him, but he’d let his guard down. Overwhelmed with remorse, he just walked out, not even sure where he was headed.
Finally, Teresa was moved to a hospital room. After over ten hours of labor, she was still unconscious.
Sweat soaked her long hair, and her face looked even paler in contrast. Her lips had lost all color, and she slept on, her brow furrowed in pain. She looked like she’d dropped ten pounds overnight.
Drop after drop, Jonathan’s tears fell onto Teresa’s face. He held her hand tightly, wiping the sweat from her face and brushing away the tears he had shed onto her cheeks.
Her hand was ice–cold, and he desperately wished he could warm her up. The thought of all the blood she’d lost made Jonathan’s heart ache so much. He almost wished he could give her his own blood if it would help.
“Doctor,” Jonathan turned anxiously to the/physician. “How soon is my wife going to wake up?”
“We really can’t say for sure,” the doctor replied gently. “She went through a long labor. She’s completely exhausted and very weak right now. What she needs most is plenty of rest.”
Another tear slid down from the corner of Jonathan’s eye.
Benny had never seen Jonathan cry like this before. Even back in the early days, when Jonathan was in Eleneburg drinking himself

sick every night, and when Benny called, Jonathan was all alone in the hospital with a bleeding stomach.
His business was stolen, he was betrayed countless times, went through so much hardship, but he never shed a single tear or uttered a word of complaint.
But now, in front of Teresa, this man who could endure anything physically was silently breaking down, his face covered in tears. Benny couldn’t help but feel bad for Jonathan.
He put his hand on Jonathan’s shoulder and gave it a reassuring pat. “Teresa will be okay, I’m sure. She’s just really tired. When my mom had me, she was in labor for two whole days, and then she just slept for three days straight.”
Jonathan remained silent. He lowered his head and placed a gentle kiss on Teresa’s forehead.
