Jonathan asked, “Does Grandpa know about his illness?”
Werner sighed. “Of course not. I wouldn’t dare tell him. I’m worried he couldn’t take it.”

Jonathan said, “If Grandpa’s condition ever gets to the point where he can’t take care of himself, I’ll make sure he has the best medical team looking after
him.”
Werner held Jonathan’s hand. “Jonathan, it’s a relief to have you as the backbone of the family. That puts my mind at ease. But he keeps thinking about Teresa having the baby.”
Jonathan was dying to tell Hayden that Teresa had already given birth. But this definitely wasn’t the right moment. Even if he was going to say it, he’d wait until Teresa and the baby were home safe and sound.
If Hayden found out the baby was born prematurely, it would definitely be a shock to him. “Teresa hasn’t had the baby yet. She’s not due for another two
months,” Jonathan said.
Werner nodded. “Then the baby should just take your last name.”
Jonathan shrugged. “Does it really matter if the baby has my last name or Teresa’s?”
Werner clicked his tongue in surprise. “You’ve got this huge company. There’s gotta be an heir, right? If the kid doesn’t share your name, people might not accept it. And your mom probably won’t go for it either.”
Jonathan honestly didn’t care about any of that anymore. “I built this company from the ground up. However many kids I have, they’ll all inherit it together. The shares will be split evenly,” Jonathan said.
“It’s your Grandpa’s wish. I’ve already given up hope that Donald will ever have a kid. You’re the only one in the family with two children. Even though you and Teresa aren’t really remarried, at least let one of your kids carry your name.”
Turned out even Werner knew about this now. Jonathan asked him, “Who told you?”
Werner replied, “Teresa told me.”
Jonathan’s face suddenly darkened. ‘So she really wants to draw the line with me, huh? We agreed to wait three months before telling everyone, but now that Teresa had the baby early, she can’t wait to make things clear between us?‘
Just then, Jonathan’s phone rang.
It was Gary, calling to let him know the baby’s household registration was done and the baby’s name was Felix.
After hanging up, Jonathan turned to Werner. “Werner, if Grandpa asks, just tell him the baby’s name is Felix, that’s all he needs to know. I’ve got some work to take care of at the company, so I’ll head out now.”
“Jonathan, stay for dinner,” Werner said.
“No, it’s alright. Maybe next time,” Jonathan got in his car and drove away. On the way to the company, Jonathan couldn’t help himself anymore. He picked up his phone and called Teresa.
Teresa drew in a sharp breath. “Did Werner just tell you I talked to him, or did he mention how he begged me to let the baby have your last name?”
Teresa had made up her mind that from now on, she was going to speak up about everything. She wasn’t going to bottle things up anymore, and she sure wasn’t going to let herself get all twisted up inside.
“Werner came to my place and said he’d get down on his knees if I didn’t agree to let the baby have your last name, What was I supposed to say?” Teresa
said.

Chapter 964
Jonathan was caught off guard. “I had no idea. He never told me that.”
Teresa’s voice was raspy. “Well, now you know. Hiss…”
Jonathan immediately noticed something was wrong with Teresa and hurriedly asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“I’m fine,” Teresa replied.
“If you’re fine, then why do you sound so out of breath when you talk? What’s really going on?” Jonathan pressed.
