The doctor said excitedly, “It’s the eighth day in the incubator for Felix. All the indicators are fine, and he can be taken out of the incubator today.”
When Teresa heard the good news, she couldn’t hold back her tears. She was finally going to see her baby.

A faint smile appeared on Jonathan’s lips. He was just as happy. He went to get Michael, so they could welcome their newest family member together.
The moment the baby was taken out of the incubator, the doctor handed him to Teresa.
Teresa held the baby carefully, feeling a wave of relief. She had been in a coma for three days and then spent five days recovering. She finally got to see the baby she had carried for ten months.
‘No, it was only eight months,’ Teresa thought, ‘If it hadn’t been for Yalena, who forced me into early labor, my baby would have been born full–term.‘ She would never let herself forget what Yalena did.
“Baby, from now on, Mommy will always protect you,” Teresa said, hot tears welling up in her eyes as she lowered her head and gently kissed her baby’s
forehead.
Michael leaned over to greet Felix. “Hey, Felix, I’ll look out for you, too. We can play together from now on, and you can call me Mike.”
Suddenly, the baby’s sharp cry pierced the quiet of the ward.
Teresa held the baby and tried to soothe him, while Michael, feeling nervous and unsure of what to do, quickly tugged at Teresa’s sleeve. “Mommy, why is Felix crying? Did I say something wrong when I greeted him?”
Teresa smiled at Michael’s concern, and the doctor also smiled and explained, “It’s actually a good thing that Felix is crying. If he didn’t cry, he might be a mute, you know.”
Michael nodded, still a bit confused. “Alright then, Felix, just cry your heart out. Cry as much as you want.”
With Jonathan by her side, Teresa carried Felix back to their room, planning to nurse him.
Jonathan brought over some bottles of breast milk. “Can’t he just have the ones I pumped for you yesterday?”
Teresa blushed as she remembered what happened yesterday, shooting Jonathan a glare. “Just take Mike out of here, will you?” Besides, her breasts were feeling uncomfortably full.
Jonathan’s eyes lingered on Teresa’s perfect skin, his throat bobbing as he swallowed, his gaze darkening with desire.
Just as Michael was about to come closer, Jonathan quickly scooped the little guy up. “Mike, let’s head out for a bit.”
“But Dad, I still want to stay and watch Felix,” Michael pouted.
“We’ll come back to see Felix later. Right now, your mom needs to nurse him,” Jonathan said.
With obvious reluctance, Jonathan closed the door behind him. He couldn’t help but remember the way she felt in his arms last night.
Not being able to touch her for so long was driving him insane. Things happened last night that nearly pushed him over the edge.
But Jonathan knew where the line was. Teresa had just given birth; there was no way he could do anything with her at that moment, no matter how
much he wanted to.
After a good feed, Felix dozed off blissfully in his mother’s arms, looking completely content.
Felix definitely took after Teresa, while Michael, on the other hand, was the spitting image of Jonathan.
Just then, Teresa’s phone rang. It was Gary, calling to say that Felix’s birth certificate was all sorted out.

surname.
“Teresa, did I handle everything okay?” Gary asked.
“All done, thanks a lot,” Teresa replied.
Just then, Felix in her arms woke up again, wailing loudly. Time for a diaper change.
