Gary heard the baby’s cries and reacted quickly. “Is that Felix crying? Has he finally come out of the incubator?” It was the eighth day, so it should be

Teresa told him Felix was out, and that soon she’d be able to take him back home to Nareigh, When the time came, she’d let Bradley and the rest of the family see the baby.
“That’s awesome! I’ll get in touch with Jonathan and ask when you guys are coming back. We’ll come pick you up,” Gary said.
“Okay.”
When Jonathan came back into the room with the baby, Teresa asked him, “So, when are we heading back to Nareigh?”
“Are you really that eager to go back?” Jonathan asked.
“I still need to check in on Lucas. As for the divorce, I’ll talk to my mom and Lucas myself,” Teresa replied.
And then there was Jennifer. She was still locked up, waiting for her court date. Teresa had a lot on her plate. She was desperate to get back home to see her family, and to witness Yalena locked up with her own eyes.
Seeing how impatient Teresa was, Jonathan couldn’t say no to her. He promised they’d head back the day after tomorrow.
“Mommy!” Michael’s voice rang out from the edge of the bed. “Look! Felix just opened his eyes!”
Teresa couldn’t hide her surprise. Felix had been snuggled in her arms for so long, but he’d kept his eyes shut the whole time. And at that moment, the very first person he saw was Michael.
Michael covered his face, looking shy. “The TV says that people fall in love with the first person they see when they open their eyes. Oh no, Felix’s in love with me! What am I supposed to do? I only have eyes for Mr. Lime!”
Jonathan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Relax, it’s not like that. You guys are both boys,” he said.
Teresa shot back, “Who says boys can’t fall in love with other boys?”
Jonathan let out a snort and raised an eyebrow at Teresa. “So, this is how you’re raising your son?”
“I’m just telling it like it is, okay? I’m way more open–minded than you,” Teresa teased.
“Hey, how am I not open–minded? You’re making me sound like some old man. I’m only three years older than you!” Jonathan grumbled.
Jonathan let out a little huff and stopped bickering with Teresa. He bent down and scooped Felix up from the bed. Finally, after all this time, he could actually hold his baby in his arms,
Jonathan’d missed the moment when Michael was born, and that regret had haunted him ever since. But that time, he hadn’t missed the birth of his
second child.
He gently cradled the baby’s head, placed him in the crib, and then, with utmost care, started changing the diaper, using a wet wipe to softly clean the baby’s delicate skin.
His movements were a bit clumsy. After all, this was Jonathan’s first time changing a diaper. In no time, Jonathan actually found himself breaking out in
a sweat.
Felix kicked out with his legs, and those adorable feet thumped right into Jonathan’s palm.
That was the power of a new life. Jonathan wiped the sweat from his brow, then bent down and planted a gentle kiss on Felix’s cheek.

Jonathan shot Teresa a look. “Where does he even learn this kind of stuff?”
Teresa rolled her eyes. “Don’t look at me, I didn’t teach him that. He gets it all from TV.”
Jonathan quickly scooped Michael up, lifted him high in the air, and planted a kiss on his cheek, trying to reassure his eldest son.

“How could I not love you? You, Felix, and your mom, I love all of you…” But just as he was about to finish, Jonathan coughed awkwardly and abruptly changed the subject.
