“It’s a misunderstanding, seriously! She’s the one who told us to come here and stir things up!”
When the troublemakers saw the police getting ready to step in, they all freaked out and started pointing at Mandy, one after another.
The police immediately took Mandy into custody and were about to take her away.
She started screaming and threw herself into Theodore’s arms. “Dr. Gibson, they’re lying! Please, say something for
me!”
But Theodore pushed her off as he stumbled over to me and grabbed my wrist tightly.
“Are you out of your mind? Divorce? That was just a scare tactic! We never even filed any paperwork!”
I couldn’t hold back my anger anymore, so I just raised my hand and slapped him.
This was my first time doing this.
Even when I hated him the most, I always just hung up the phone calmly and never lost control like this.
He looked at me in disbelief.
“Scaring me?” I snapped, almost yelling, “Theodore, it’s me who wants a divorce, you jerk!
“When I saw that divorce paper you sent, I actually thanked you for being so cold-blooded for the first time. I didn’t even have to do anything. You basically kicked yourself out of my life for good!”
“Impossible! You must’ve lost your mind! You’re just being hysterical again! You’re talking nonsense! Even if you signed it, there’s still a one-month cooling-off period!”
He started panicking, trying to smile while pulling me toward him.
“It’s my fault, okay? I only acted like that because I was upset with you. Let’s just stop this, please? I said I’m sorry, Luna. Isn’t that enough?”
I shoved him away and then slapped the other side of his face.
“Theodore, you really underestimate me. If I had the money to make you a famous doctor, don’t you think I can find a way to get us divorced right away?”
I pulled out the divorce decree I already had someone get for me and smacked it against his face.
“Open your eyes and look, this is exactly what you’ve been dreaming of avoiding!”
Theodore stared at the divorce decree on the ground in shock, but he didn’t dare to pick it up.

He kept reaching out and tried to pull me closer.
“You’re lying. Didn’t you love me? How could you actually go through with a divorce?
“Luna, let me explain. I swear I never betrayed you, and I never let the kids down.
“The kids… I said I’d be there with you at their memorial service. For their sake, can we just let this go today? Can we just quietly be with them at their memorial service?”
I looked at him with bloodshot eyes.
The corner of my mouth twitched up into a cold, terrifying smile.
“The kids? Do you even have the right to talk about the kids?
“My two children were killed by you and that bitch.
“Now, even the last bit of their ashes has been crushed underfoot by the bastards you brought here, scattered and gone forever!
“You deserve to rot in the deepest hell, haunted every night by their spirits, paying for what you’ve done with your whole life!
“You’re not fit to be a father, not fit to be a doctor, and definitely not fit to call yourself human!”
