Chapter 12
“Really?” Collin blinked.
He didn’t understand anything.
But he knew that as long as what he did could make his mother happy and earn her praise, it was a good thing.
Caroline smiled and touched his face.“Collin, you also really wanted Jaxson to be your dad, didn’t you?”
He nodded happily.
Her smile grew colder. So you must make sure to please Jaxson and make him like you more,
He nodded eagerly.“I will!”
understand?”
Jaxson’s POV
had just arrived at the company when Cynthia Erickson approached me.
“Mr. Hamilton, Madam Hamilton is waiting for you in your office.”
I nodded and walked in.
Grandma sat on the sofa, elegantly sipping tea.
She looked up as I approached.
“I heard you arranged for that woman Caroline to be placed in Charlotte’s hospital?”
I loosened my tie, sitting opposite her. “Did Charlotte file a complaint?”
She slammed her teacup down.“Jaxson, why do you always suspect your wife? Would Charlotte be the kind of person to betray you?”
I gave a faint smile.“She won’t.”
“How Charlotte married into the Hamilton family back then, and how you forced me to marry her, I haven’t forgotten.”
Her face darkened slightly, a hint of mockery flashing across it.
“If she really sues, does that woman Caroline still have a chance to return to her country?”
I fell silent for a moment, meeting her gaze.
“Don’t touch her again, I said.
She laughed scornfully,
“She took ten million from me to leave you back then. What’s so good about a woman who forgets loyalty for profit!”
“If it weren’t for you meddling, would she have left?”
“You…” She thought for a moment, then laughed and stood up.
“Jaxson, you’re barking up the wrong tree, mistaking a dime for a diamond. One day you’ll eat your words.
I’m washing my hands of this Charlotte drama–if you wanna file for divorce, that’s on you now, Handle your own mess.”
She walked out.
My jaw muscles twitched, my dark brows furrowed.
How could I possibly regret it?
She got the wealth and glory she wanted could she live with it
No. She couldn’t leave me.
