Chapter 343
Kayla and Amelia were both left speechless.
“I’m the live–in husband!” he declared. Tuff returned with a bag of oranges, specifically Kayla’s favorites. They weren’t anything fancy, but he picked them out himself at the market, making sure each one was just right.
“Tuff!” Maggie exploded with anger, completely taken aback by his words.
Kayla remained silent. Tuff was the only son in the Prescott family–there was no way he could genuinely become a live–in husband for the Kingsleys. He was fabricating stories to shield her.
“Mom, why are you back again?” Tuff said, sounding impatient.
“So now that you’re married, you’re ditching me who raised you?” Maggie snapped, glaring at him.
“That’s right! So, Mom, you should head home. I’m now the Kingsleys‘ son–in–law–I’ll visit Lunova when I can,” Tuff replied as he picked up the oranges and placed them into the fruit bowl. He seemed entirely at case, just like a homemaker.
Maggie’s temper shot through the roof. “You are out of your mind!”
“Mom, my mental state’s been a little unstable lately. Who knows, I might get even crazier,” Tuff grinned, hitting her right in the feels with that family guilt trip.
Maggie was so furious that she couldn’t speak; she pointed at Tuff, feeling as though her heart was bleeding. Sensing her distress, Kayla quickly interjected, “Mom, Tuff’s not marrying into the Kingsleys. I married into the Prescott family.”
Maggie finally calmed down a little, though she was still fuming. “You brat, are you trying to give me a heart attack?”
“Nope, Tuff replied with a cheeky grin. “But seriously, Mom, stop bringing up the live–in son–in–law thing, or I just might go through with it.”
Maggie was left speechless. ‘If he weren’t my son, I’d wring his neck!‘ she fumed inwardly.
“Mom, these oranges are super sweet. Try one,” Tuff said, shoving one into Maggie’s hand and shooting Kayla a playful wink.
Amelia couldn’t help but feel secondhand embarrassment for him as he flirted with his wife right in front of his mom. “Wow, he’s got skills!‘ Amelia thought. ‘Landon was also elite in the Flying Tiger Sect, but he would never do something like this.
“I’m not eating that!” Maggie huffed, brushing his hand away. “Fine, I’ll go–but you have to come back for your grandma’s birthday next month.”
Tuff frowned. It was already the end of the month, and his grandma’s birthday was less than two weeks away. With Kayla’s current state, he didn’t want to go anywhere.
“We’ll be there on time, Kayla spoke up.
Maggie didn’t care about Kayla’s answer–she wanted to hear it from Tuff instead. ‘Now that he’s got a wife, he doesn’t care about me anymore. Where did I go wrong raising him?‘ Maggie grumbled inwardly and stormed out, fuming.
Amelia let out a relieved sigh, then joked, “Tuff, am I not good enough for one of your oranges?”
“Catch it,” Tuff said, tossing one over without looking.
Amelia snatched it out of the air. But Tuff was already busy peeling one for Kayla, not missing a beat. “You know how to treat your wife!” Amelia grinned, teasing him.

“Of course,” Tuff said, full of swagger. “Wait, Landon never peels oranges for you?”
Amelia thought back and realized–he never had. ‘No way, I’m making sure he does it tonight, she resolved.
Kayla shot Tuff a glare. “Don’t try to start drama! That’s my brother you’re talking about!”

“Just messing around, Amelia. Don’t take it to heart. Landon’s just a bit old–fashioned, but I’ll set him straight for you one of these days. Tuff said quickly.
“No, don’t do that,” Amelia said, her ears burning red.
Landon was all over her last night–he just wouldn’t let her go. Ever since Kimsey was born, he had been coming up with new moves in bed, and she could hardly keep up with him anymore. If Tuff gave him any more ideas, she might never leave the bed again.
“Don’t worry, Amelia, I’ll take good care of Kayla. You don’t have to come by all the time,” Tuff said.
“I’m just here to drop off some things,” Amelia replied, nodding toward the coffee table. There were bulk packs of supplements–she went all out.
“Thanks,” Tuff said, grinning, acting all goofy.
Kayla shook her head and said, “Amy, I’m fine now. You can head home, don’t worry about me.”
“Okay! If you get bored, just come hang out with me,” Amelia replied.
“Okay,” Kayla replied.
Amelia felt truly reassured. With Tuff protecting her like this, Kayla was definitely in good hands–she was sure to be happy.
On her way home, Amelia stopped by the office, and the secretaries from the CEO’s suite gathered around her excitedly. “Mrs. Kingsley, it’s been so long since you last visited! Are you getting ready for baby number two?” one of them teased.
“Aaron’s been whining every day, saying, with Mr and Mrs. Kingsley gone, he’s been stuck doing all the grunt work,” another joked.
Amelia grinned. “Nope, no baby plans—just took a vacation with Mr. Kingsley.”
“Wow, you two were gone for ages! You must be nice to be so happy together!”
All they had done was shower her with praise. People had only noticed the wealthy throwing money around casually, living with complete freedom. However, they had never witnessed the hard work and dedication that went on when no one was watching.
“Mrs. Kingsley, Mr. Kingsley’s in a meeting right now. Want to go check up on him in his office?” one of the secretaries asked.
“Of course!” Amelia replied with enthusiasm. She walked into the office, still smiling at the secretaries‘ lively banter.
She hadn’t worked for a long time, and her fingers were practically itching to get back to it. Spotting some paperwork on the desk, she casually opened a file and, before she knew it, was fully immersed in work again.
By the time Landon finished his meeting and returned, she had already dealt with several documents. “Looks like my honey is a workaholic too,” Landon chuckled as he pulled her out of the office chair, sat down himself, and then brought her onto his lap.
“Isn’t it nice to have me here to lend a hand?” Amelia teased, her face looking even more radiant after she had lost weight during their time in Dreicean.
Landon wrapped one arm around her waist, cupped her face with the other, and kissed her passionately. “Of course it is.

Chapter 343
We’ve been away for a while, and there’s a mountain of work waiting for us at the office. I guess we’ll have to stay late tonight,” Landon sighed.
Landon didn’t want to work overtime. All I want is to cuddle up with you and sleep, he sighed inwardly.
“I’ll stay and help you out tonight,” Amelia offered.
“No way. You’re far too skinny right now–you need to rest and take care of yourself,” Landon said firmly. Landon wouldn’t let Amelia exhaust herself any further, since she had already endured so much because of him.
“Oh, by the way, I’ve already begun working on the matter we discussed last time. Once it’s resolved, I’ll formally resign,” Landon said, referring to his position in the Flying Tiger Sect.
Amelia still had no idea what his actual job was, but since he was leaving, she didn’t push for details. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and asked, “Are you willing to give it up?”
“The only thing I can’t stand to leave behind is you and our child,” Landon said with a weary smile, the exhaustion from the endless meetings evident on his face.
Amelia got up and quietly moved behind him, gently massaging his head and shoulders. Landon held her hands in place and said. “Honey, don’t.”
“Why?” Amelia asked.
“I just hate seeing you work so hard,” Landon replied.
Then maybe you should give me a break in bed for once,” Amelia teased, but her slender fingers kept kneading his shoulders.
Landon closed his eyes, enjoying the massage. “No way.”
“Honestly! You guys in the Flying Tiger Sect always act so righteous, but deep down, you’re all total flirts,” Amelia teased.
Landon opened his eyes. “You mean Tuff?”
“Yeah. Hitting on Kayla right in front of his mom? I couldn’t watch it,” Amelia said.
“Maggie’s back again…” Landon muttered. His gaze grew deep.
Amelia could tell he was worried. “Don’t stress. Tuff’s got her under control. She didn’t even get a chance to sit down before he kicked her out.”
“That’s more like it, Landon said, finally feeling at ease. Kayla had faced enough hardships in her life–he refused to let the Prescott family bully her any longer.
“Oh, and they’re returning to Lunova next month for Mrs. Prescott’s birthday. We need to prioritize Kayla’s treatment,”
Amelia said.
Landon sighed, sounding frustrated, “Let’s just hope Dr. Shawn brings back some good news.”
“Honey, I was reading this web novel where some ability users had healing powers. Does anyone in the Mystic Sect have that
kind of skill?” Amelia asked.
Landon’s gaze sharpened. ‘How did I not think of that before?‘
Since the Mystic Sect had been dismantled, everyone had been brought to the Flying Tiger Sect for thorough questioning. That included Monroe’s right–hand man, Lancet, and his medical team, all of whom were doctors. Landon’s master and Morgan wanted to examine them.

Without wasting another second, Landon pulled out his phone and made a call. “Master…”
