Chapter 350
“Everything’s fine…” Amelia said, her face lighting up as she put her phone down. She snuggled into Landon’s arms, grinning “tioney, Kayla’s home, and she’s doing great.”
“Good,” Landon replied, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. He tightened his embrace around her. “How about we give Kimsey a little sister?
“No way,” Amelia shot back without a second thought.
“Why?” Landon asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
“I want some peace for a while,” Amelia said, resting her head on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
“Mom can help out, and we could always get a baby nurse,” Landon suggested.
“It’s still a hassle. And being pregnant isn’t exactly a walk in the park. I’m not up for it right now,” Amelia replied.
“Alright, whatever you say. We’ll wait until you feel like it,” Landon said, giving her a reassuring squeeze.
“Good.”
Deep down, Amelia loved kids and had even thought about giving Kimsey a little brother or sister. But everything that happened with the Mystic Sect wore her out. Now she craved quiet more than ever.
“Honey, when are we going to Lunova?” Amelia asked.
Landon knitted his brows in frustration.
Amelia, not noticing his mood, went on, “My brother wants me to go back for my birthday. He wants to celebrate it for me.”
“Then, let’s just go early,” Landon replied.
‘Guess there’s no way around it,‘ Landon thought with a silent sigh.
Amelia’s birthday was two days before Daniel and Edith’s wedding day. Landon was hoping to stall as long as he could, thinking maybe his resignation
would finally be approved.
However, it looked like his resignation wasn’t getting approved after all. He was getting worried.
‘Why are you always making things difficult for me, Mr. Mitchell?‘ Landon grumbled inwardly.
The next day arrived, and it was Betty’s birthday.
The house was buzzing with activity early in the morning. Kayla got up to get ready, but her stomach started to ache again.
“Honey, my aunts and uncles are back,” Tuff said, bursting into the room with a big grin.
“Okay. I’ll be right there,” Kayla replied, popping two painkillers before changing and heading out.
The second and third branches of the Prescott family had all come back, each bringing their kids along
And every single one of those kids was a girl.
They’d all gone to Norava for the wedding, but that day was such a whirlwind. Then Jeffrey suddenly showed up, so Kayla never got a chance to meet them properly.

She had to officially meet them today.
“Hello, Terrell, Lily, Maverick, and Diane,” Kayla greeted them with a warm smile.

Following Maggie’s advice, Kayla covered up the scars on her face today. Without those marks, she was breathtakingly beautiful, enough to make an do a double–take.
However, it had been ages since she’d worn a prosthetic mask, and her skin felt hot and a little suffocated underneath.
“Kayla, did your face heal up?” Lizbeth, the eldest daughter of the second branch, asked curiously.
Everyone immediately turned their eyes to Kayla.
Kayla smiled and said, “Not yet. There are many guests today. I’m afraid to scare the children, so I did a little cover–up.”
“Oh! But you look gorgeous today, Kayla. Ever thought about getting some work done?” Samantha, Lizbeth’s younger sister, leaned in, her eyes sparkling.
Both girls were gorgeous and super sweet.
Kayla nodded. “I’m already working on it.”
“Awesome! You will soon be the most beautiful sister–in–law in all of Lunova,” Lizbeth said, grinning from ear to ear.
Lily chimed in, “Kayla, Tuff’s the only boy in this generation of the Prescott family, so you’re our one and only sister–in–law. The girls adore you.”
“Thank you!” Kayla said, her face showing genuine emotion, though her heart stayed guarded deep down.
With everything she’d been through, she never hoped the Prescott family would ever truly accept her.
‘It’s rare for sisters–in–law to get along. Look at the way Cynthia treated Mom, enough said,‘ thought Kayla.
“Kayla, I like you, too,” another voice piped up.
Two more girls arrived a bit late. They were Alina and Zara Prescott from the third branch of the Prescott family.
Diane was Joyce’s aunt.
Just when Kayla thought Diane might not be fond of her, Diane suddenly said, “Kayla, I heard Joyce’s been giving you trouble?”
“Not really,” Kayla replied, surprised, but she kept her cool with a calm smile.
“Joyce has been super competitive ever since she was a kid. She always has to come out on top. You don’t need to bother with her,” Diane said.
Kayla smiled. “Alright, thanks.”
Just because they are family doesn’t mean Hannah’s going to cover for Joyce. Guess I don’t have to worry about that. What a relief,‘ Kayla thought.
“Kayla, Tuff already gave us instructions. When Joyce shows up, we’ll make sure to keep her away from you so she won’t bother you,” Alina said.
Joyce is coming, too?‘ Kayla thought, surprised.
Kayla didn’t expect that.
She’d checked the guest list. There was no invitation for the Lambert family.
‘People are just showing up uninvited now? So shameless, Kayla thought,
“Kayla, how did you and Tuff meet? Tell us the story!” one of the girls asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity

Chapter 350
“I’d rather hear about the thrill of fighting and shooting from Kayla…” another girl chimed in, grinning.
The girls buzzed around Kayla, chattering away.
Lily and Diane just sat back, smiling and listening, looking like guests with nothing to do but enjoy the lively scene.
Kayla handed out the gifts she’d brought for the girls. Each one was a unique, high–end piece of jewelry or a designer bag.
The girls might come from wealthy families, but they didn’t have that kind of spending power themselves yet. Normally, there
afford stuff like this.

they could
With gifts in hand, they were all smiles, calling Kayla sweetly. Even Landen got royal treatment from them.
Landen had never been surrounded by so many “relatives” before, so he was all buzzing with excitement and joy.
“Kayla, go and check on the dishes in the kitchen and see if anything’s missing or needs fixing. And make sure the seating is all set up,” Maggie called out
from across the room.
Maggie was throwing her weight around as the matriarch.
The girls all got a little nervous. They’d heard Kayla was a strong woman who could handle herself in a fight. ‘Can she put up with Maggie’s bossy attitude? Are they gonna end up butting heads?‘ they wondered.
“On it!” Kayla called back.
She gave a quick wave to the ladies and girls, then headed off to the kitchen to get things organized.
The girls shot each other looks.
“Kayla is chill,” one of them whispered.
“Can’t believe she didn’t lose her temper…” another murmured.
Lily and Diane just exchanged smiles, keeping their thoughts to themselves.
They knew the drill when it came to this kind of family drama.
A smart daughter–in–law would never embarrass her mother–in–law/in public.
Kayla was one of the clever ones.
However, whether Kayla, the strong–willed big woman, would end up clashing with Maggie in the future, well, who knows? Looks like things were about to get lively in the Prescott family!
Betty wasn’t into anything flashy, so her birthday party was held right at home.
The whole family gathered in the morning, and friends and relatives came by in the afternoon. They didn’t invite many people. There were only about ten tables of guests altogether.
The butler and chef had everything running like clockwork, so the matriarch didn’t have to lift a finger.
Kayla took a quick look around the kitchen, but everything was already taken care of.
Lily came in, smiling. “Maggie likes to be in charge. Don’t take it to heart.”
“I’ve never managed household stuff before, so I guess I do need to learn,” Kayla said, then sat down in the kitchen and started playing a game on ker phone.

Lily thought, ‘This is what she calls learning? She’s got her way of pretending to go along while doing whatever she wants!
“Lily, what brings you to the kitchen?” Kayla asked, not even looking up from her game.
Lily replied, “Your sisters wanted some juice, so I came to make some.”
“Lily, you’re such a good homemaker, even making juice,” Kayla teased.
“Ha! Making juice makes me a good homemaker?” Lily snorted.
“Of course. I’m clueless about housework. All I’m good at is blowing cash and throwing punches,” Kayla shrugged. “Lucky for me, my making machine. He keeps my bank account overflowing.”
Lily could only stare, speechless.
‘Seriously, do you have to humblebrag like that?‘ Lily thought.
