As night fell, Landon, Amelia, and Kimsey arrived in Lunova.
Landon wanted to go straight to the Prescott family and stand up for Kayla.
“Hold on,” Amelia said, stopping him. “Let’s go home first and deal with it tomorrow.”
Landon was brooding. The thought of Kayla being sick and getting bullied made him mad as hell.
“Which place are we going to?” Landon asked.
‘Well, both the Hughes and Zuckerberg families want me to come home. Being this popular is kind of a headache, Amelia thought
“Let’s head to the Zuckerberg family,” Landon said.
He had a few things he wanted to discuss with Daniel.
“Sure,” Amelia replied.
Amelia gave the Hughes family a call, promising she’d drop by tomorrow. Once her grandpa gave his permission, Amelia could head to the Zuckerberg family without a care in the world.
Daniel and Edith were already in bed when they heard Amelia had arrived. They were over the moon.
They quickly changed out of their pajamas and got themselves presentable, waiting in the yard.
Edith was all excited, and Daniel couldn’t help but laugh. “Honey, don’t get too worked up. You need to take care of yourself. You’re expecting!”
“Okay, okay,” Edith said, sticking out her tongue. “My social circle is tiny. Mais is not home, and Giovanna hardly ever visits been dying to see Amy.”
“Lying at home all day must be tough on you. Once the baby’s born, you can go wherever you want,” Daniel said, instinctively touching Edith’s belly.
That bump wasn’t just chub. It was their baby.
“It’s not tough at all, but I get pretty bored when you’re not home,” Edith said.
Daniel was taken aback for a second.
‘What she needs is company,‘ he thought.
Daniel made up his mind to cut back on work and spend more time at home with her.
As they were chatting, Amelia arrived.
“Amy!” Edith sprang to her feet, making Daniel’s face turn pale.
“Easy, easy…” Daniel said, worried.
“Edith,” Amelia said, hugging her. “You look so pregnant. Are you carrying twins?”

“No. It’s just that all I do is eat and sleep these days. My weight’s out of control,” Edith replied with an embarrassed laugh.
Every time she went for a check–up, her weight shot up. It wasn’t just her belly. Her arms and face were getting rounder, too,
If Edith couldn’t slim down after giving birth, she’d end up chubby.
She’d never been a stunner. If she got even bigger… would Daniel still want her around?
“That’s just how it goes when you’re expecting. Take good care of yourself and don’t stress about it. Once the baby is born, your weight will come off,” Amelia said with a knowing smile.
Edith was glowing with happiness, but her love of beauty was making her anxious. She needed someone to hype her up a bit.
Sure enough, Edith stopped worrying. “Yeah. I can tell you bounced back so well after having the baby.”
“I’m slimmer than before I got pregnant. Go ahead, feel my waist,” Amelia said with a laugh.
“Wow, you are! So you can get skinnier after having a baby!” Edith exclaimed.
“And that’s not all. My skin also got better after pregnancy. Didn’t you notice?” Amelia grinned.
“I knew it! I do look a little prettier these days!” Edith said.
The two women were swapping stories about postpartum life and babies, taking turns holding Kimsey, who couldn’t stop giggling.
Daniel watched them, happiness written all over his face. “Man, nothing beats being here with my wife and kid.”
“What they want is simple. So for us…” Landon said, his brow knit in worry.
Landon felt depressed at the thought of Larry, his master, making things for Daniel.
“Sorry, I can’t do it,” Daniel let out a long sigh. “I can’t put Edith and Mais through that pain again.”
“I understand. I don’t want you dragged into it either. I’ll take care of my problems,” Landon said firmly.
Daniel asked, “How are you going to deal with it?”
“Now that I’m in Lunova, I’ll head back and talk to the elders face–to–face,” Landon replied.
“Alright. And Amy…?” Daniel trailed off.
“She doesn’t know,” Landon said.
Daniel fell silent.
Amelia was probably hoping Landon’s resignation would be successful.
“The day after tomorrow is her birthday. Are you ready?” Landon asked, his brow relaxing into an easy smile. “Amy said you’re handling her birthday this year, so I don’t have to worry about it.”
“I want to host a grand party to officially celebrate her return to the Zuckerberg family,” Daniel said.
Amelia’s status had never been made public, which was a knot in Daniel’s heart.
First, Amelia was pregnant, then all kinds of things kept coming up. But honestly, it was mostly because Amelia liked to keep a low

profile.
The Hughes family had only thrown a small, private celebration.
It was nothing like the kind of big celebration Daniel thought Amelia deserved.
“Are you sure Edith can handle two parties?” Landon asked. He didn’t object, just looked a little worried about Edith’s health.
“I’ve talked to her. She’ll only be there for a little while at the party. It’ll be fine,” Daniel assured him.
“Alright, you take care of it then!” Landon said.
Maisie had been hiding behind the flowering tree, quietly wiping her eyes before stepping out with a smile. “Hey, Landon, welcome home.”
“Mais? When did you get back?” Daniel blinked in surprise.
“I got here right after they did. You all seemed deep in conversation, so I didn’t want to butt in,” Maisie said, a little sheepishly.
As soon as she heard Amelia and Landon were coming to Lunova, she hurried home in the middle of the night.
Maisie was scared that if she showed up even a little late, Landon would try to go after Joanna, her mother.
Landon could see right through her and just smiled faintly.
Maisie must’ve overheard his talk with Daniel. Otherwise, she’d have already run off to tip off Joanna.
“Edith and Amy are still chatting. Go and join them,” Daniel said.
“Alright,” Maisie let out a sigh of relief and happily ran to the living room.
Daniel shot Landon an apologetic look. “Sorry, I’ve spoiled her rotten.”
“It doesn’t matter to me as long as she doesn’t screw up when it matters,” Landon replied casually.
Maisie had always been the neglected one, never loved by her folks. Honestly, it was kind of sad.
So, Landon knew he couldn’t mess with Joanna anymore.
The next morning, the Hughes family had a car sent over to pick everyone up.
Daniel teased his grandpa for playing favorites as he hopped in with everyone else.
Everyone piled into the car and headed to the Hughes family together.
When both the grandson and granddaughter arrived, bringing along the granddaughter–in–law and great–grandchild, the old man was thrilled.
Daniel brought up Amelia’s birthday party, and the Hughes family was all for it. They even said they’d use the party to formally announce Amelia’s status to everyone.
From now on, anyone who dared mess with Amelia was picking a fight with the Hughes family.

While the Hughes family was basking in happiness, over at the Prescott family, Kayla was getting hit with some passive–aggressive shade from Maggie.
“Emma, go and butcher those chickens. They don’t lay eggs, so they’re eating up feed for nothing,” Maggie said, her tone sharp
“Yes, ma’am,” Emma replied.
Emma shot a quick, sneaky look at Kayla to see how she’d react.
Kayla was sitting on the terrace six feet away, buried in her book and acting like she didn’t hear a word of it.
However, her heart was breaking inside.
Ever since she got back from the hospital, the whole family knew she couldn’t get pregnant anymore.
Except for Betty, who was still kind to Kayla, everyone else started giving Kayla attitude.
Even the servants were giving her a cold shoulder.
Luckily, the second and third branches of the Prescott family had left, or there’d be even more people making Kayla’s life
miserable.
“Kayla, have you ever considered surrogacy? Science can help you have another child,” Maggie pressed, stepping right up and confronting Kayla head–on.
“I haven’t. Not interested,” Kayla replied.
She rejected the idea without a moment’s hesitation.
“You’re not thinking about the family,” Maggie huffed, clearly frustrated. “Tuff is our only son. He has to have an heir. Otherwise, who’s going to inherit the Prescott family’s fortune?”
“It’s not like we’re royalty with a throne to pass down,” Kayla said coolly, watching Maggie put on her little show. “If there’s too much money, why not give it to charity?”
“How can you just squander it like that? The fortune our family built up over generations is supposed to be passed down to our children,” Maggie snapped, her voice getting sharper.
“Then give it to Lily’s and Diane’s families. The girls are still plenty young. They can pop out as many kids as you want once they’re married,” Kayla shot back without missing a beat.
“Absolutely not!” Maggie exclaimed, looking scandalized.
“Why not?” Kayla fired right back, not backing down an inch.
The servants were stunned when Kayla was going toe–to–toe with Maggie.
‘You are a woman who can’t bear children. Where do you get the nerve?‘ the servants thought.
