Chapter 366
Chapter 366
“Joanna handed it to Marvel, and then Marvel passed it to me. Honestly, I can’t make any sense of it, but he claimed it was an extraordinary book. Here, you take it back,” Amelia said.
Daniel flipped through it and grimaced. “I don’t get it either.”
“If none of us can understand it, what’s the point of passing this book down through generations?” Amelia asked, looking
confused.
Daniel shook his head. “No idea.”
“Even the head of the family doesn’t know? This book’s gotta be something special,” Tuff remarked with curiosity, leaning
in for a closer look.
He stared at it for a moment and realized, except for what was on the cover, he couldn’t recognize a single word.
“Maybe I should let you study it then, Mr. Prescott,” Daniel teased.
“Nah, that’s your family heirloom. I wouldn’t dare,” Tuff said, backing off with a sheepish grin.
Their banter lightened the mood considerably.
As they stepped out of the Prescott family house, Amelia turned to Daniel. “Hey, is your wedding happening as planned?”
“can’t let Edith down again, but…” Daniel said, his heart heavy with worry.
‘Jonny is stirring up trouble again, and it might affect my wedding. Since marriage is a once–in–a–lifetime event, it’ll be tragic if anything goes wrong,‘ Daniel thought to himself.
“Daniel, maybe this is the chance we’ve been waiting for,” Amelia said.
Daniel froze, then felt even worse inside.
Now that the Prescott, Kingsley, and Zuckerberg families were all in this together, he was sure the crazy Jonny would seize
the chance to cause chaos.
“I’ll discuss it with Edith first,” Daniel said, torn between his options.
Neither Landon nor Tuff brought up this chance.
it was not like they hadn’t thought of it, but they didn’t want to make things harder for Daniel,
Landon and Amelia stayed temporarily with the Prescott family as companions to Kayla and her husband.
Betty made a special trip to greet them and comfort Kayla.
Maggie was the only one who didn’t show up or say anything.
The way Maggie treated Kayla made Landon furious. He was about to blow up several times, but Amelia always managed
to calm him down.

Chapter 366
“Right now, finding Landen is what matters most. Don’t stir up trouble,” Amelia said.
“If this ever happens again, Kayla will never set foot in the Prescott family’s house!” Landon said coldly.
“Of course, of course!” After a lot of back–and–forth, Amelia finally talked Landon down. She couldn’t help but think to herself, ‘Not every daughter–in–law gets blessed with a great mother–in–law. Guess I hit the jackpot this time.
“Honey, why don’t you get some rest?” Amelia said as she took the rare initiative to help Landon out of his coat.
Landon caught her hand and asked, “Where’s Kimsey?”
“The nanny’s with him. He’s already asleep. I had them move over from the Zuckerberg family’s place today so I could look
after him more easily,” Amelia replied.
“Could you go get Kimsey for me?” Landon asked.
Amelia teased, “What’s this? Missing your boy already? It’s only been a day!”
Landon forced a smile. “Yeah.”
Amelia thought to herself, ‘He must be completely exhausted to act like this. Maybe having Kimsey close by will help cheer
him up.‘
She turned and walked into another room. After she left, Landon picked up the fruit knife from the table and drew it across
his finger.
A thin line of blood welled up, quickly swelling into droplets that pattered onto the table.
Amelia walked in with Kimsey, and when she saw Landon’s bleeding hand, she gasped. “Honey, what happened to your
hand?”
“Just tried to cut some fruit and slipped.” Landon shrugged, grabbing a tissue to wipe away the blood before reaching out
with his other hand to take Kimsey.
Kimsey was already nine months old with several teeth, but hadn’t started talking yet.
Landon’s mother had told him that both he and his sister spoke early. They were saying “Mom” and “Dad” when they were
eight months old.
Is there something different about Kimsey?‘ Landon wondered.
“Wimsey, did you miss Daddy?” Landon pushed aside his worries and played with his son, smiling.
“000 goo go gal” Kimsey bounced energetically on Landon’s lap, his smile as bright as sunshine.
Amelia, worried that Landon might not be able to hold Kimsey steady with just one hand, quickly stepped in to help.
Landon casually held up his injured hand in front of Kimsey. Instantly. Kimsey stopped bouncing and smiling, his eyes fixed on Landon’s finger
Landon felt his throat go dry with tension.

He hoped Kimsey was the gifted healer, but at the same time, he hoped Kimsey wasn’t. The contradiction tore at him.
If Kimsey had that gift, he could heal Kayla. But those born with extraordinary gifts could never live ordinary lives.
“Honey, be careful. Kimsey might bump your hand. I’ll take him,” Amelia said.
But immediately after she said that, Kimsey reached out with his chubby little hand and gently grabbed Landon’s finger.
“Careful. Kimsey. Daddy’s hurt. If you grab him like that, it might hurt… Wait, what?” Amelia didn’t even get to finish her sentence before she was left completely stunned.
Because when Kimsey let go, the cut on Landon’s hand was just gone!
“Kimsey, it is you,” Landon murmured, hugging his son tightly, his heart a storm of emotions.
Amelia was stunned for a long moment before she finally managed to speak. “Honey, this is…”
“Kimsey’s an esper, too. He has a healing ability,” Landon said.
Amelia was stunned.
By the time Daniel got home, it was already past ten, and the night was deep.
Edith and Maisie were snacking while binge–watching a show.
“Daniel, what kept you out all day? You should’ve come home earlier to spend more time with Edith,” Maisie said.
“Here, take a look at this,” Daniel said as he handed the book to Maisie.
Maisie flipped through it and frowned. “What language is this? I can’t read a single word.”
“It’s our family heirloom,” Daniel replied.
“Pfft! What kind of heirloom is this? Looks like junk to me,” Maisie snorted.
“Joanna stole it, and the Mystic Sect ended up using it to whip up a cure for that love spell,” Daniel explained.
Maisie’s smile vanished. She flipped through it again, but she still couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
Moreover, the book appeared fire–damaged, with frayed edges all around.
“I want to reach out to her,” Daniel said, watching Maisie’s reaction.
Maisie’s face went pale. “Daniel, you swore you wouldn’t…”
“That’s exactly why I need to protect her,” Daniel said.
Maisie just stared at him, bating her lip, too shocked to say anything
“The Mystic Sext still has some real heavy hitters, and now they’re all under Jonny’s command…” Daniel said.

“Wait, didn’t Jonny die ages ago?” Maisie cut in, totally stunned.
“Clones, remember?” Daniel replied.
Maisie felt a chill run down her spine. “Just how many clones are there?”
“Not sure. So, you understand now?” Daniel asked.
“Yeah… I get it,” Maisie replied, feeling utterly terrified.
Her mother was bound to the Mystic Sect, and as long as that group existed, her mother would never truly be free, let alone ever grow old with her beloved “husband.”
‘If there were a whole bunch of cloned versions of my dad…‘ Maisie thought, then shook her head hard, trying to banish that horrifying image from her mind.
Edith was confused. “What exactly is going on?”
“Edith, our wedding is still happening as planned, but someone might try to ruin it,” Daniel said.
“What?” Edith was startled.
Daniel quickly grabbed her hand. “It’s okay. Don’t be scared.”

Then he laid it all out for her, including how Jonny had stirred up trouble in Lunova and how they managed to bring down
the Mystic Sect.
Edith was horrified by what she heard.
She never knew that they had been through countless life–or–death situations without her knowledge.
Compared to them, she was so blessed.
Growing up, her parents and Joanna doted on her. Now, after getting married, Daniel and Maisie always had her back.
Even when she got a little moody, everyone would bend over backwards to make her smile. She had never truly faced any real danger.
“Edith, is that okay with you? If you’re scared, we can postpone the wedding,” Daniel asked with concern.
Edith took a deep breath and thought, ‘Of course I’m scared. Who wouldn’t be? But when the people I love need me, how could I possibly back down?‘
“It’s okay,” Edith said firmly.
Daniel was surprised, his heart swelling with emotion. “Edith…”
“I know you’ll protect me and our child,” Edith said with a calm smile, her poise unwavering.
Maisie’s heart ached, and she turned her head away.
‘Even Edith can be this brave. My cowardice seems ridiculous in comparison,‘ Maisie thought.

She quietly slipped out and went back to her room, then called Joanna. “Mom…”
“I thought we agreed not to stay in touch.” Joanna’s voice was warm, dripping with quiet happiness.

Maisie felt her heart ache even more, her voice hoarse. “Mom, the Mystic Sect is still there. There’s another Jonny clone in Lunova, and he’s brought backup. Monroe’s been quietly pulling all the elite guys from the Kington Gang.”
“Who told you that?” Joanna asked, her voice full of shock.
“Marvel,” Maisie replied.
“Marvel?” Joanna repeated, clearly confused.
“He’s Monroe’s twin brother. They stick together like glue, and even the head of the Kington Gang has no clue he’s around. Mom, did you know about him?” Maisie asked.
Joanna paused for a long moment before finally saying, “No.”
“Mom, the Flying Tiger Sect is searching for you. Landon and Daniel intercepted them for now,” Maisie said.
“They’re looking for me? I’m not part of that world anymore. I’m no threat to them anymore,” Joanna replied.
“But you’ve got a highly successful clone by your side. It draws too much attention,” Maisie said. “Mom, it’s not just the Flying Tiger Sect. I’m afraid others might come after you, too.”
Joanna felt a chill run down her spine.
She’d already seen this coming, so after the Mystic Sect got wiped out, she took off from Dreicean with her “husband” in
tow.
They settled down in a quiet fishing village where the internet barely worked.
But if someone was determined to track them down, there was no way they could stay hidden for long.
“Mom, please come back. We’ll face this together,” Maisie pleaded in a low voice, her heart pounding.
She lacked both courage and confidence.
Joanna fell silent again.
The long–distance call carried the sound of their breathing. It was as if they were just a breath away, but separated by an
ocean.
“Mom, Daniel promised he’d never hurt you or him again,” Maisie added.
Joanna remained silent,
Maisie was on the verge of tears as she asked, “Mom, have you ever thought about it? What if there were more versions of
Dad out there…”
“That’s impossible!” Joanna blurted out.

“There are already two Jonnys,” Maisie said with a bitter smile. “Monroe is even more unhinged than Jonny. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do.
“Mom, please come back. I don’t mind if you bring him along. I promise, I’ll do everything I can to protect you both.
“Edith and Daniel are about to get married, and I’m worried the Mystic Sect might try to mess things up.”
Joanna finally wavered. “Let me think about it,” she said softly.
“Alright, Mom, but please, give it some serious thought,” Maisie added.
After she hung up, Maisie let out a long, relieved breath.
Now that she had taken this step, the rest was up to fate.

Whether her mother came back because of her or for Edith, Maisie just hoped Joanna would return and lend them a hand.
