Chapter 387
Under the clear night sky, Joyce, masked and hatted, hopped out of a taxi at the agreed spot–Harmony
Estates.
Once a luxury neighborhood, after more than twenty years, it had turned into a run–down old place.
Back in the day, only well–off families could afford a place in Harmony Estates.
The guy Joyce picked to be her baby daddy lived right here.
Getting out of the cab, Joyce scanned her surroundings, making sure no one was tailing her before slipping into Harmony Estates.
“She’s looking super suspicious,” Kayla muttered from inside a beat–up, nondescript car parked by the curb, her eyes glued to Joyce.
“Boss, are we really about to bust someone in the act?”
Aaron could hardly believe it-
He’d just arrived in Lunova, and now he was about to witness a real–life cheating drama.
“No,” Kayla said coolly.
“What?”
“We’re just here to watch and get it all on video,” Kayla said, her red lips curving into a cold smile, like a hunter waiting for prey to take the bait.
‘Damn, this just got even more exciting!‘ Aaron thought.
“She’s heading upstairs. Let’s go!” Kayla said, leading the way as she swung the car door open and stepped out.
She was rocking a sleek black leather outfit, looking totally badass. Aaron couldn’t help but think, “This must be what Kayla looks like on one of her undercover missions.‘
To Kayla, Joyce was barely a challenge to her.
Aaron, fully prepared, followed Kayla as the two of them slipped into the complex.
Under the swaying shadows of the trees, two figures kept their eyes fixed on them, barely making a sound.
They stayed perfectly still, using the shifting shadows to hide themselves–practically invisible.
It wasn’t until Kayla and Aaron disappeared up the stairs that the tall, skinny figure finally shifted. “Sir, isn’t that Amy’s sister–in–law?”
The cheerful voice was unmistakably Lennon.

Porter stepped out from the shadows, glancing up at the apartment building.
He lived here too. He wondered, ‘Wait, is Kayla actually here for me?‘
“Should I go back and take a look?” Lennon asked.
Porter nodded gravely. “All right, go ahead.”
Since this old complex didn’t have an elevator, Lennon crept up the stairs, careful to keep his footsteps as quiet as possible–he really didn’t want to bump into Kayla in the hallway.
By the time he reached the sixth floor–home–there was still no sign of anyone.
‘Where did they go?‘ Lennon wondered.
‘Could they still be upstairs?‘ he thought, frowning.
There were only seven floors in the whole building, and Lennon had heard both units on the top floor were empty now. ‘So what is Kayla even doing here with someone?‘
Lennon tiptoed up to the next floor, but as soon as he got there, he stopped dead in his tracks and quickly pulled his foot back.
Just as I thought–they’re on the seventh floor!‘ Lennon realized.
‘Nope, better not,’ he thought, his heart racing.
He quickly pulled back, hurried back to his apartment on the sixth floor, and texted Porter: [Sir, they’re on the seventh floor. Don’t come up, just stay hidden!]
Porter raised his brows in confusion, glancing up toward the seventh floor.
Sure enough, the lights on the seventh floor were on.
Behind the curtains, two silhouettes were making out, hands all over each other.
“Oh man, this is sinful…” Porter muttered, quickly looking away and whispering a little prayer to clear his mind.
‘No way… Is Kayla hooking up with Aaron?‘ Porter wondered, his mind spinning.
About half an hour later, Kayla and Aaron came out of the stairwell.
They were still looking sharp, not a single thing out of place–just like when they’d first walked in.
Porter glanced up again, and the silhouettes behind the seventh–floor curtains were getting wilder–things were really heating up up there.
‘Wait, is Kayla here to bust someone cheating? Is Tuff the one having an affair?‘ Porter thought, his mind racing.

“Boss, I got it all on video–this is some juicy stuff!” Aaron whispered excitedly.

Porter, with his sharp ears, overheard them, and now his suspicion that it was Tuff grew even stronger.
But then Kayla spoke up, her tone cold and certain. “I guessed correctly–she really does have a masochistic tendency.”
“I really didn’t expect it. She always looks so polished, but deep down, she’s got a wild side,” Aaron muttered, clicking his tongue in disbelief.
Joyce was crying while begging the guy to go faster–it was almost enough to leave Aaron scarred for life.
“If you ever get married, never go for a woman like her,” Kayla said, her tone full of warning.
“Definitely not!” Aaron nodded vigorously.
He had absolutely zero interest in hurting women in bed.
Porter lurked in the shadows, feeling a bitter taste in his mouth.
‘Tuff and Kayla just got married, and yet he’s already cheating.?‘ Porter thought, his mind spinning.
‘And what about Amy and Landon?‘ he worried.
Porter could almost hear warning bells blaring in his head. Maybe he should hold off on leaving Lunova for
now.
He hadn’t been able to raise Amy, but at the very least, he could watch over her and make sure she found happiness.
If Landon ever started straying, Porter would nip it in the bud the moment it started.
He’d already let Catherine down–he couldn’t let Amy end up unhappy too.

It was a freezing winter night in Lunova, but Joyce was snuggled up in a man’s warm embrace, splicing together audio clips on her phone.
Moans and breathy whispers echoed around the room, and the man got turned on all over again, his hands roaming over Joyce once more.
Joyce pushed him away. “Knock it off, I’m pregnant!”
“But you sure weren’t worried about that a minute ago, were you?” the man teased with a low laugh, totally
unfazed.
Joyce swatted his hand away again, her tone dead serious. “If you screw up my plan, there won’t be a dime to bail your family out!”
The man awkwardly withdrew his hand, looking embarrassed.

To make it look even more real, Joyce snapped a few pics of herself and spliced them together with the audio, editing it all into a short video. She double–checked everything, making sure there were no glitches or slip- ups, before finally able to sleep easy.
She’d already checked–Tuff was working the night shift tonight, so he wouldn’t be home. First thing tomorrow morning, she’d send that video straight to Kayla.
Joyce didn’t believe for a second that Kayla could hold it together after seeing that.
