“I’ll hire someone to help you. Just be more careful from now on,” Maggie said, barely keeping her frustration in check.
Joyce, not missing a beat, pushed her luck. “So, will you come visit me often, Maggie?”
“Yes,” Maggie replied, jaw tight.
Joyce finally looked satisfied. “Thanks, Maggie.”
It wouldn’t really make sense to have the Prescott family’s staff take care of Joyce.
So Maggie, ever the strategist, hired two people from outside: a nutritionist and a cleaner.
What she didn’t realize was that she was falling into another trap again.
Just a few days after the contracts were signed, copies landed right on Kayla’s desk.
Then, Joyce called. “Kayla, thanks for working so hard to support me. Maggie’s been taking great care of me for the sake of her future grandchild.”
“It’s the least I can do,” Kayla replied.
She was already used to Maggie’s muddled ways and didn’t feel the slightest bit annoyed.
Instead, her calm reaction left Joyce completely at a loss.
“Kayla, are you crazy or something?” Joyce blurted out.
“No,” Kayla replied.
“Then what’s with that attitude?” Joyce pressed.
“A wife should be virtuous–and I’ve got that part down. A mistress is supposed to be beautiful, but you don’t even qualify. So I guess you’ll just have to make do with being useful,” Kayla shot back, her words smooth but cutting.
She’d just called Joyce ugly–without even using a single harsh word.
Joyce gritted her teeth in frustration. “You seriously don’t care that I’m hooking up with Tuff?”
“Of course I care,” Kayla said coolly.
“But then why…”
Kayla’s voice was laced with meaning. “You know better than anyone who you’re getting in bed with, Joyce. Don’t test my patience. Just focus on checking out Harmony Estates.”
Joyce broke out in a cold sweat.
‘How does Kayla know about Harmony Estates? What’s she getting at?‘ Joyce thought, her mind racing.
Before Joyce could get a word in, Kayla had already hung up impatiently and gone back to handling official business.
The Kingsley family was famous, and now that the Lunova branch was finally on track, business was so good that Kayla barely had time to rest.

“So, you’re finally ready to stop holding back?” Aaron leaned in, eyes gleaming with mischief, practically itching to get
started.
“The holidays are coming up. Let’s stir things up for the Lambert family–give them something to talk about. If you’re bored, go have some fun,” Kayla replied, her tone light but with an unmistakable edge.
“On it!” Aaron replied eagerly.
He rubbed his hands together in anticipation.
Awesome! Looks like there’s hope I’ll get to spend the holidays back in Lunova!‘ he thought, barely able to contain his excitement.
Landon had laid down the law, and Aaron wasn’t allowed to go home until he’d handled the whole Joyce situation. He’d been itching to get back for ages, and now, finally, it looked like his patience was about to pay off.

Meanwhile, as soon as Joyce hung up, she rushed straight to the Harmony Estates.
Porter and Lennon had just stepped outside when they spotted a pregnant woman heading up to the seventh floor. The two shared a look. The woman looked like Tuff’s mistress.
‘Damn, she’s already got a belly on her, Porter thought.
‘And Kayla’s just letting this slide?‘ he wondered.
‘Is this some kind of Kingsley family tradition or what?‘ Porter mused, a hint of sarcasm in his mind.
His gaze grew cold.
If Landon ever got another woman pregnant, he definitely wouldn’t stand for it.
“Hey, I think I saw that woman at Tuff’s wedding,” Lennon said, breaking the silence.
Porter’s scowl deepened.
‘Bringing his mistress to the wedding? That’s bold. Tuff’s got some nerve!‘ Porter thought, jaw clenched.
“Mr. Zuckerberg, should I go up and take a look? She won’t recognize me anyway,” Lennon suggested.
“Go ahead. And record a video while you’re at it,” Porter said.
“That’s right.”
Porter wondered to himself, ‘Now that there’ll be a video, should I let Amy know?‘
Joyce swept the room with a little gadget, just like she did when hunting for hidden cameras in a hotel.
She was in such a rush. She didn’t even bother closing the front door behind her.
Lennon hesitated. ‘Should I just watch from here, or should I go
inside?‘
His conscience stopped him short. ‘Better just watch from out here.‘
Following Porter’s orders, Lennon held up his phone and got a clear shot of Joyce tearing through the place, catching every

Joyce, her hair a mess and darting around the room, looked downright ridiculous.
Lennon burst out laughing. “Haha…”
“Who’s there?” Joyce spun around, startled.
When she saw it was just an unfamiliar boy, she finally relaxed a little and asked, “Who are you?”
“I live downstairs, across from you. I saw your door open and thought someone might’ve broken in,” Lennon lied smoothly, pocketing his phone.
“Delete that video!” Joyce snapped, her anger barely contained.
“Sure, just prove you own the place,” Lennon shot back.
Joyce was left speechless.
This wasn’t even her house–if she wanted to prove she was the owner, she’d have to get the real landlord involved.
But if she did that, it would just expose that she and the real owner were having an affair.
Because of Kayla, she was already a bit infamous now. If anyone started tailing her, she’d be totally screwed.
“If you can’t prove it, I can’t delete the video. What if the real owner reports this to the police? I’ll have to hand it over,” Lennon said firmly.
Joyce took a deep breath and asked, “You saw me, right? I wasn’t stealing anything.”
“Then what are you looking for?” Lennon pressed.
“This is my relative’s place. I must’ve forgotten something here last time,” Joyce said, trying to play it cool.
“So you gotta crawl around on the floor, searching every inch for it?” Lennon asked, eyebrow raised.
“Yeah, it’s tiny,” Joyce replied, her voice tight.
“Want me to help? That way, neither of us looks like a thief,” Lennon offered, stepping inside with a friendly grin.
Joyce was left speechless.
‘Whatever, he’s just some random guy. She thought to herself.
Joyce just wanted to check for hidden cameras as fast as possible, so she said to Lennon, “It’s a diamond stud, super sparkly.”
“Alright.”
Lennon dropped to the floor and started fake–searching right along with her.
The place had a really unique setup–aside from the bathroom and kitchen, it was all one big space.
The living room and bedroom weren’t even separated by walls, just a couch marking the boundary.
One couldn’t miss it–a huge bed right in the middle, plain as day.

Lennon had never laid eyes on a bed that enormous before. He found himself gawking, unable to look away.
“Ah-!” Joyce let out a startled yelp.
She suddenly collapsed onto the floor.
“Hey, are you okay?” Lennon hurried over.”
Joyce was gripping something small and black in her hand. Lennon recognized it instantly. It was a hidden camera.
It all made sense to Lennon now.
What Kayla was doing that night was setting up this camera.
He found her move so impressive. Someone was right there in the room, yet she could still install things without making a sound.
“It’s over, it’s over…” Joyce muttered, her voice barely above a whisper, looking completely drained.
“Need a hand?” Lennon offered, sounding genuinely helpful.
Joyce opened her palm, looking completely drained. “Can you help me see if there are any more of these things?”
“No problem,” Lennon replied.
Lennon started looking around the room.
‘Holy crap! There are four more!‘ Lennon thought, shocked. “This place is wired for 360–degree surveillance–no way to
