Chapter 15 The Trouble
Originally, Isla had married Ronan with a purpose.

Ronan cast him a cold glance. “Assess the situation first. If she does find out, you know what to do.”
“Yes, Mr. Ellsworth.”
Ronan’s gaze lingered on Isla for two seconds before retracting.
Isla, sensing someone watching her, instinctively looked up. She only caught a familiar silhouette before it vanished on the third floor.
Just as she was puzzled, Logan returned, excited. “I found out, Isla. He’s the head of Cloudie’s top family. No one knows why he’s at the school, which caused all the commotion.”
“Cloudie’s top family?” Isla’s attention shifted, her brows furrowing.
That was the man Aurora had saved.
“Yeah, his name’s Ronan. I think he was classmates with my brother–they’re pretty close. My brother always follows him around, ignoring the family business. Oh, and if I remember correctly, your husband’s surname is also Ellsworth. How can two people with the same surname have such different family backgrounds?”
He complained, thinking Isla–so beautiful–deserved a higher–tier partner.
“People’s fates aren’t in their own hands. He doesn’t want this either. You’re not allowed to say such things about him, or I’ll be upset,” Isla frowned, admonishing him. She didn’t like others disparaging Rowan.
Logan was surprised. “You just met him, and you’re already defending him?”
Isla said coldly, “Whether my relationship with him is good or bad, that’s no reason for you to poke at someone’s weaknesses.”
Logan immediately shut his mouth, acknowledging his mistake. He hadn’t meant harm–just couldn’t resist a little teasing.
Isla still had class, so she didn’t say more to him. She turned and headed toward the teaching building.

Meanwhile, Aurora, well–dressed, arrived at the school with Lucas.

Lucas, now a sophomore, held a sunshade over Aurora and asked uncertainly, “Aurora, that bitch really came to our school?”
Aurora bit her lip. “My classmate saw her. She couldn’t have been mistaken. I just don’t know if Isla came here to cause me trouble.”
Lucas’s face darkened immediately. “Don’t worry, Aurora. If she dares to bully you, I won’t let her get away. I’ll escort you to the lab first, then I’ll go to class. As long as I’m by your side, she won’t be able to do anything to you.”
Aurora gratefully linked her arm with Lucas’s. “Thank you, Lucas. Having you here it’s really nice.”
Lucas scratched the back of his head, embarrassed. “You’re my sister. If I don’t treat you well, who else will? Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, nobody can mess with you.”
Aurora smiled sweetly.
Lucas accompanied Aurora to the lab. Just as they arrived at the teaching building, his good friend Tobias Ashford ran over and hooked an arm around his neck. “Hey, Lucas. When did you get a girlfriend and not tell your friends? And you’re personally escorting her? That beauty from our department has got you wrapped around her finger, huh?”
Lucas rolled his eyes. “What nonsense are you talking about? That’s my

sister–my real sister.”
The two had been close friends since middle school. Back then, Tobias had visited the Beaumont family and met Lucas’s sister Aurora. She was breathtakingly beautiful, and young Tobias had a crush, pestering Lucas to introduce them.
But Lucas was extremely protective of his sister and flat–out refused. Tobias was so frustrated he almost stopped being friends with him. Later, they went to different high schools but coincidentally ended up in the same university, which brought them back together.
Lucas’s expression darkened. “No it’s my other sister. I’ll explain later.”
He really didn’t want to hear anything about that wretched woman, Isla.
Ugh, it was annoying.
Tobias looked puzzled but didn’t push.
Respecting his privacy, he quickly changed the topic. “I heard there’s a beautiful new professor in our medical department. Everyone’s rushing to grab seats. We should go check it out too.”
“Really?” Lucas’s attention was caught immediately.

“Of course. I knew you’d like this. Come on.” Tobias tugged at him, and they hurried to grab seats at the front of the classroom.
Everyone around them was talking about the new professor–young, attractive, and apparently very capable.
The boys were buzzing with curiosity.
Lucas was secretly excited. He liked women slightly older than himself, who were caring like Aurora and made him feel secure.
His previous girlfriends hadn’t quite lived up to his expectations.
Now, hearing about a young, attractive female professor naturally made him thrilled.
But when he saw the figure carrying books and walking into the classroom, he froze.
He stared at Isla, utterly incredulous, his eyes widening in shock as she walked step by step toward the podium. “How–how is it you?”
