Cold Revenge of The Outcast Heiress
Chapter 4 The Partiality
All eyes were fixed on Aurora.
It was as if Isla didn’t belong here.
It was a scene far too familiar.

How many times had she stood silently in the shadows, watching everyone fuss over Aurora, her own tears wiped away alone in some dark corner? It was so many that Isla couldn’t remember.
Aurora had perfected the role–the fragile, pitiful girl with a tragic past, yet strong enough to endure.
Anyone who dared oppose her would be condemned. “She’s already suffered so much. How can you still fight with her?”
Aurora, while pretending to be sensible and well–behaved, gradually made everyone feel guilty and, step by step, won their hearts.
But Isla now saw the act for what it was–an elaborate performance, a carefully laid snare.
Did Aurora really think she was still that naive fool who could be trampled underfoot with a single flick of her hand?
As the family murmured tender reassurances, Aurora pushed away her brothers‘ support, feigning a wince of pain. Then, biting her lip as if summoning all her strength, she turned to Isla with watery eyes. “Isla, are you still mad at me? Today, Lucas and I went to the airport to pick you up, but we didn’t see you. I tried calling, but you wouldn’t answer.”
She bit her rosy lip, feigning a hint of hurt. “It’s been so many years and you still won’t accept me?”
At her words, the Beaumont brothers behind her immediately furrowed their brows, their expressions hardening.
Before Isla could even respond, Aurora stepped forward a few paces and grabbed her hand. “If you really can’t accept me, that’s fine. I can move out I just hope you won’t be angry with the family anymore.”
But Isla yanked her hand back sharply.
“Fine, then move out,” she said flatly, her voice cold and indifferent.
Aurora froze.

flickered with confusion. Three years had passed, and Isla had grown cautious, it
But that didn’t matter–there were always others to discipline her.
Aurora sneered silently.
Sure enough, the next second, Jasper’s face darkened as he scolded, “What are you trying to do? You actually want Aurora to move out? Aurora is your sister. When will you ever learn to be reasonable?”
Isla didn’t even glance at him. Calmly, she took a handkerchief from her pocket and began wiping her fingers.
Her hands were delicate with defined knuckles—almost like exquisite pieces of art.
Yet now, no one appreciated it. Aurora’s face darkened at the sight.
Just as everyone was stunned by Isla’s composure, Isla suddenly stopped, meeting Jasper’s gaze.
The brother Isla had once respected and admired now saw only coldness in her eyes. “Wasn’t it her idea? How did this turn into me being unreasonable, when I was the one who first suggested she leave?”
Jasper was momentarily speechless.
A mist formed in Aurora’s eyes, and she quickly looked down, trying to hide her vulnerability. “Isla if you’re upset, direct it at me. Don’t hurt Jasper like that.”
Isla laughed, a sharp, mocking sound. “What are you talking about? When have I ever been upset? I was just answering him. How is that hurting him? Do you really think everyone has a heart as fragile as yours–glass–clear and shattering at the slightest touch?”
Aurora’s jaw tightened.
On the surface, it sounded like a compliment–but she knew better. Isla was ruthlessly mocking her.
A shadow passed over Aurora’s heart, yet her tears began to fall anyway. “I–I’m not.”
“Enough already. Always making a scene the second you come back–what is that about?” Julian snapped impatiently, clearly aiming his words at Isla.
Owen shot Isla a cold look as he helped the still–weeping Aurora. “Aurora, stop expecting anything from her. Some people never change. Don’t let it get to you. Come on, let’s get you

seated.”
Aurora dabbed at her tears, whispering, “It’s not Isla’s fault; it’s mine.”

Jasper frowned as he observed Isla. Something had shifted in his sister–but he didn’t care enough to probe.
With a shrug, he muttered, “Don’t do anything unnecessary.”
Dinner ended with everyone fussing over Aurora, leaving Isla to eat quietly.
Once finished, she rose and returned to her room.
Cora slammed her fork down. “Three years abroad, and she still hasn’t learned. Look at her— what a waste of raising. I should have let her die over there.”
Julian frowned. “And if she had died who would have married Aurora off to that useless
Ellsworth loser?”
Cora fell silent immediately.
The Ellsworth family from Cloudie had once been a prestigious family. Years ago, the elder Beaumont family had arranged a marriage alliance for Aurora.
But fate intervened. Aurora had been kidnapped and gone missing for over a decade.
Then the Ellsworth parents died in a car crash, and their estate was plundered by greedy relatives. The young heir, Rowan, was abandoned, dropping out of school to work in a garage. A couple of years back, he was crushed under a car, leaving him disabled.
The marriage had long been forgotten.
But then, Rowan’s relatives sought to settle their debts of honor, while the Beaumont family, pressured by past agreements and social face, could not refuse outright.
The Ellsworth family, aware of the Beaumont family’s hesitancy, publicized the situation widely, leaving the family trapped between embarrassment and obligation.
Aurora, unwilling to marry the crippled Rowan, remembered Isla, still abroad.
And when they learned that their daughter had saved the Ellsworth heir, Ronan, the family was determined. Isla must never marry that useless loser, Rowan.
“It’s funny, isn’t it? Their surnames are the same, and their names even sound alike. For a moment, I thought they were the same person,” Julian remarked.
Aurora, equally surprised, only understood the magnitude of what she had done after seeing

Cora stroked her daughter’s hair gently. “Though they share a surname, their lives couldn’t be more different. Aurora was fated to meet the Ellsworth family. She deserves the best–perhaps heaven itself guided her to meet young mentor Ronan.”
“Now the question is will Isla agree to marry him?” Owen’s voice cut through, cold and sharp.
His glare carried old resentment.
Years ago, his girlfriend of three years had been pushed into the pool by Isla and drowned.
He bore Isla no forgiveness.
Right now, he felt no guilt about making Isla marry in Aurora’s place.
Julian’s voice dropped, icy. “Doesn’t want to marry him? She will anyway.”
