Chapter 10
The villain finally got what he deserved. All of this was the result of Hunter’s greed.
Ryan pushed through the door, carrying two cups of coffee. “Sorry to interrupt. My CEO, the investors will be here in three minutes.”
“What investors? You didn’t tell me we had a meeting today.” I asked, confused.
“I wanted to surprise you.” Ryan winked mysteriously.
Walking into the conference room, I was shocked to see partners from the country’s top venture capital firm, along with Jaxon and Chloe.
“Dad, Mom, how did you get here?” I said in shock.
“Ryan invited us.” Chloe hugged me with tears in her eyes. “He said today was an important day for your new venture.”
It turned out Ryan had contacted Jaxon and Chloe privately and used the new company’s performance this year to prove that my choice was right.
Since starting the new company, I hadn’t seen Jaxon and Chloe for a whole year.

I hugged them, feeling the long–lost sense of security and warmth.
“And there’s this.” Jaxon handed me an envelope. “This is something you’ve always wanted.”

Inside the envelope was an old photograph. Six–year–old me standing in the science museum, eyes sparkling with the light of dreams.
On the back of the photo was Jaxon’s handwriting: “To my little scientist, may you achieve your dreams.”
I was deeply moved.
In my past life, for Anthony’s sake, I gave up my dream of pursuing a career and disappointed Jaxon’s expectations. But in this life, I’m glad I didn’t make the same mistake again.
I firmly believe that in this life, I won’t die alone in a hospital bed again.
Loving Jaxon and Chloe, loyal Luna, and Ryan who has always supported me–they are all my strongest support.
“Thank you.” I said softly to Ryan. I wasn’t sure what I was thanking him for–the career opportunity he gave me, helping me reconcile with my family, or the fortune of him appearing in

“It’s not over yet.” Ryan gently took my hand, then turned to the investors present. “Today, besides the funding meeting, I have something more important to announce.”
Under my shocked gaze, Ryan knelt on one knee and pulled out a ring. “Eleanor, would you let me become your life’s permanent partner?”
The entire room fell silent.
I saw Jaxon and Chloe’s encouraging smiles, Luna’s tears of excitement, and in Ryan’s eyes, that unreserved love I never received in my past life.
At this moment, I felt all the blood in my body rushing rapidly. My brain seemed to be constantly releasing dopamine. I think this feeling is what happiness is.
“I have one condition.” My voice trembled slightly. “I want 51% controlling interest.”
“I’ll give it all to you.” Ryan smiled as he handed me the ring. “My heart has long been your wholly–owned subsidiary.”
This time, I didn’t hesitate, didn’t doubt, didn’t fear.
Because I knew this wasn’t a repeat of my past life’s tragedy, but

the beginning of a completely new life.
I smiled and said, “Deal.”

Then I extended my hand, letting this man who loved me deeply slip the ring onto my finger.
Sunlight streamed through the floor–to–ceiling windows onto us, bright and warm.
The shadows of my past life finally faded away, and I was truly
reborn.
The End.
