Anna suddenly laughed–a terrifying laugh. “How pathetic. You’re about to be killed by someone’s scheme and you still don’t know why. Eleanor, you’re so stupid! Anthony has wanted to kill you since high school because your father reported his father for embezzlement that Christmas. His father went to prison, his mother couldn’t handle the reality and just abandoned him. Meanwhile, your father got promoted because of it. You’re the one who made him lose his family!”
This truth shocked me to my core.
What I thought was love in my past life had been nothing but a carefully orchestrated revenge from start to finish.
Anna looked at me with malicious eyes. “He pursued you, planned to marry you–all for revenge.
“As for me? I just enjoyed taking your things.
“People aren’t born on the same starting line. Why should you get good grades, good friends, and a wealthy father? Aren’t I prettier than you?
“But what good is being pretty? You can sit in an office and easily make millions with your brain, while I only get labeled as ‘the pretty one.‘ I was jealous of everything you had, so I wanted to take it all away!”

After saying this, Anna burst into maniacal laughter, completely losing her mind.
In the end, Anthony was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Anna, with multiple charges, should have received eighteen years. Given her mental issues, her sentence was reduced to ten years. After release, she would be sent to a psychiatric hospital.
Ryan had recovered well enough to be discharged.
I also successfully led the company in eliminating Anthony’s influence, then submitted my resignation.
“Are you really going to give all this up?” Ryan sat in his wheelchair, watching me pack up my office.
“I’m not giving up—I’m being reborn.” I placed the last photo in the box. “I originally joined this company to escape Anthony. There are too many bad memories here. I need a fresh start.”
“Would your new company consider taking on a partner?” Ryan handed me a business proposal. “I have some ideas.”
I opened the document and felt incredibly excited.

Sunlight streamed through the window onto his profile. I suddenly realized how handsome this man who had always quietly supported me looked when he smiled.
“Your potential goes far beyond what’s in front of you. Eleanor, whatever you do, I’ll support you.” Ryan’s eyes were filled with deep affection.
I extended my hand and said, “I have one condition. I want 51% of the shares.”
Ryan laughed heartily, gently taking my hand. “Deal, my CEO.”
A year later, our new company had become a rising star in the industry.
Today was the day Anthony’s appeal was rejected in prison.
