Chapter 322
“Are you upset because of what I said earlier?” Yosef asked, carefully studying the expression on Skylar’s face Noticing this Skylar pressed her lips together slightly.
‘Does it have to do with what I said? But I don’t think there’s something wrong with what I said! Yosef thought..
“If it’s not the words, then…”
Yosef asked, “You think I’m just brushing you off and making up an excuse?” He was taking a wild guess.
Skylar’s delicate brows suddenly knitted. “I didn’t!”
Yosef noticed her emotions were clearly in turmoil. ‘Looks like I guessed right,’ he thought.
“Skylar, I’m not deliberately brushing you off,” Yosef said earnestly. “I just don’t know how to explain it to you.
“I wanted to tell you I got drunk out of jealousy, but then I realized I had no right to blame you, and that’s my fault.”
Yosef admitted with a helpless smile, “I was worried you’d get mad if I told you, but turns out not telling you made you just as
upset!”
After hearing Yosef’s explanation, Skylar inexplicably felt much lighter, though she couldn’t quite say why. ‘I can’t believe I’m letting Yosef lead me around by the nose now,‘ Skylar thought.
‘How could this happen?‘ Skylar wondered. ‘Could it be that I’ve just been seeing too much of Yosef lately?‘
‘Even a stray cat will slowly warm up to you if you keep feeding them, let alone a human,‘ Skylar frowned.
‘Right, that must be it,’ Skylar thought to herself. To keep from falling under Yosef’s influence any longer, Skylar resolved to limit their interactions as much as possible.
Yosef asked, “Skylar, mind telling me what’s on your mind?”
Skylar returned to her senses and turned her head, only for her lips to unexpectedly brush against something soft–Yosef’s lips.
Skylar paused, her eyes wide as she stepped back. “Hey! Why are you getting so close to me?” Her face was barely two inches from Yosef’s. One slight movement and their lips would engage.
“Skylar, you just kissed me, didn’t you?” Yosef teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
“That was just an accidental brush–it doesn’t count as a kiss!” Skylar protested.
Yosef arched his brow. “That doesn’t count?”
Skylar shot back, “Of course that doesn’t count!”
“Well, if that’s how you see it…” Yosef trailed off mid–sentence, and Skylar’s heart skipped a beat.
“What?” she blurted out.
Yosef leaned in and captured Skylar’s lips with a kiss. Their breaths mingled, hot and heavy, leaving Skylar breathless with heat as a delicate flush bloomed at the corners of her eyes.

Chapter 322
Seeing she was struggling to breathe, Yosef pulled back just enough: “Don’t forget to breathe, Skylar, he murmured gently.
Yosef gently cupped Skylar’s face in his hands and murmured, “Take it slow.”
“Yosef, who gave you the right to-
His kiss silenced Skylar’s protest once more. Just as Skylar opened her mouth to protest, Yosef captured her tips again, silencing her before the words could escape.
Without her even noticing, Yosef’s hand had somehow found its way to Skylar’s waist. Her waist was so slender. His hand could span it completely.
As Yosef gave her waist a teasing squeeze, Skylar felt all her strength drain away, and her body went limp against him. Seizing the moment, Yosef swept Skylar into his arms, laid her on the bed, and captured her lips with a deep kiss.
Yosef’s hand slid from Skylar’s waist, slipping beneath the hem of her shirt and tracing a slow path upward. Skylar’s heart leapt into her throat. She instinctively pressed Yosef’s hand down through her clothes and snapped, her voice edged with anger, “Yosef!”
Yosef replied calmly, “Mm–hmm?”
Skylar snapped, “Yosef! Where do you think your hand is going, huh?”
Yosef withdrew his hand without the slightest hint of shame. With an unapologetic grin, he said, “Sorry, Skylar. I couldn’t help myself. I got a little carried away.”
“Ugh, you!” Skylar was no match for his shamelessness. Flustered, cheeks burning, she swung her leg to push him away.
Yosef caught Skylar’s leg and, with a teasing grin, warned, “I’m on edge right now, Skylar. If you keep this up, things might get out of hand.”
Skylar squirmed in his grip and demanded, “Let me go, you bastard!”
Yosef playfully let go, acting like an obedient person.

But he didn’t let her get off the bed. His tall frame loomed over Skylar as he planted both hands on either side of her shoulders.
