Reborn back 9

She looked at the two little devils before her, unable to reconcile them with the fragile babies she had fought so desperately to bring into the world.

The front door suddenly swung open.

“What’s going on?”

Dominic’s deep voice resonated, followed by Cassandra. Seeing the scene, all three froze.

“Daddy!” The children’s expressions instantly shifted. They cried and ran to him. “Mommy threw away the cake and wouldn’t let us eat it, and she said she doesn’t want us anymore, boohoohoo!”

Dominic’s gaze fell on the cake in the trash can, then on Elara, who was covered in blood. His brow furrowed deeply. “Elara, why do you have to be so difficult with the children?”

His voice was as cold as ice. “Saying such things to your own flesh and blood, do you deserve to be

I mother?”

Elara propped herself against the wall, slowly rising. Blood stained her collar.

She looked at Dominic and suddenly laughed.

“When have I ever deserved to be in your eyes?” Her voice was hoarse. “Haven’t you always just eated me as a tool for procreation?”

Dominic’s pupils contracted.

“Since the wife you want is Cassandra,” Elara wiped the blood from her face, “and the children only rant her as their mommy, then I’ll step aside and complete your family of four.”

The air instantly froze.

Dominic’s face turned incredibly ugly. He stared intently at Elara, as if seeing her clearly for the first

“Elara, don’t forget,” his voice was deep and chilling. “The Thorne and Hayes families were allied hrough marriage. There was no love to begin with.”

“What do you want me to give you? Love?” He scoffed. “I’m sorry, I can’t.”

Elara heard this and started to laugh. As she laughed, tears streamed down her face.

Yes, he was right.

She was stupid, she was foolish, to think she could pull a god from his pedestal.

Dominic had indeed been pulled down before, but that person wasn’t her.

She should have known all along.

“Dominic, it’s alright…” Cassandra gently took Dominic’s arm at the opportune moment. “The children are scared. Let’s take them upstairs first.”

Dominic gave Elara a deep look, then finally turned, picking up a child in each arm, and left with

Cassandra.

Elara watched their retreating figures, blood still steadily dripping.

She regretted it immensely now.

Regretted marrying Dominic, regretted having those two children.
