Chapter 91
I had finished cleaning up and collapsed onto the couch in front of the fire long before Aiden was finished in the bathroom. I caught the scent of his shower gel before I saw him, my eyes lifting from the book I picked up from the bookcase by the door. In the warm golden light of the fire, Aiden’s skin glowed like gold, his tattoos a colourful display of blues, pinks and oranges before coming to an end on his shoulders. Even then I could see the definition of muscle wrapped around his arms, flexing under the skin with each lazy movement.
I couldn’t tell if Aiden had purposely left his shirt off but I nearly choked on my own saliva when I saw how low his joggers were riding on his hips. The smooth planes of his chests seamlessly met with the soft rise and dip of his ribs while his abs blended into the v of his hips.
I felt fire flood into my cheeks as liquid heat pooled in my belly making my thighs clench. How did he do that? How could he easily turn me into a blushing, flustered mess. It was cruel and
unfair of him.
“What’s got you blushing, El?” He pried as he moved towards the couch slowly, his eyes
flashing in amusement.
He knew exactly what had me blushing.
“Nothing.” I mumbled and looked at the book in my lap, trying to find some composure. “I’m
just reading.”
“Uh–huh.” He sounded amused as he sank onto the couch next to me, his arm resting on the back while his fingers played with the ends of my hair. “Is it interesting?”
“I don’t know.” I replied, casting a fervent glance his way. “I had only just started when you interrupted me.”
“I’m sorry.” He wasn’t. “Carry on reading, I won’t talk anymore.”
It was a trap. I knew it was. I could hear the fire in his voice, the way his voice lowered almost to a growl. He was teasing me and he was up to something.
When nothing else happened and Aiden didn’t say anything else, I focused back on the book. It wasn’t anything exciting, just a book about the history of the area but the photos had piqued my interest and I wanted to take a look. However, as soon as I settled into a rhythm of reading, Aiden pounced. He must have been waiting like a cat watching a mouse before he attacked. His hand moved first, delicately brushing my hair away from my shoulder gently before his plump lips sound the sensitive skin of my throat, tongue gliding over my pulse. I sucked in a sharp

breath, chills running down my chest and lower. My scalp tingled when his hand came to cup the back of my head to keep me where he could torture me.
“Aiden, I thought you weren’t going to distract me.” I almost whined and yet my body betrayed me and leaned into his touch.
“Hm, I never said anything about not distracting you.” He crooned in my ear, the sound sending hot vibrations through me. “I just said I wouldn’t talk.”
Before I could even argue he was pushing me back against the couch, one hand blindly grabbing the book from me and chucking it away while he attacked my mouth with hungry, lustful kisses. I whimpered, unable to resist kissing him back, letting him pin me to the soft cushions with his body. His skin was smooth and hot as I ran my fingers through his damp hair and down over his shoulders and back. A soft bite to my bottom lip had me gasping only for Aiden’s tongue to plunder my mouth greedily as it explored my mouth and my tongue until all I could taste was him.
I was breathless by the time Aiden pulled away and yet, while I lay panting under him, Aiden’s mouth was attacking my throat and neck, his hands kneading my hips before grabbing my legs to push them apart and let him settle between them.
“Aiden…” I mewled, wriggling a little in protest at his attack. “I don’t think the couch is big enough for us to both be on it like this!”
“Hm,” Aiden finally lifted his head, his eyes finding mine as he frowned in thought. “You’re right, this is pretty uncomfortable.”
I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but I wasn’t expecting to find Aiden hopping to his feet or me feeling overwhelmingly disappointed that he wasn’t kissing me to death.
“What are you doing?” I raised an eyebrow, sitting up.
