Chapter 105
PRIMUS ALEXANDER’S POV
You fucking ruined everything,” he snarled, chest heaving. “You had one job. Yet, you went to mark her all over again.”
Levi’s fist cracked against my jaw before I even had the chance to breathe. My head snapped sideways.
I glared at him. “Careful, Levi.”
“Careful?” he barked, stepping closer. “You think I care if you’re the Primus right now? Do you know what you’ve done? You let your beast take her. You forgot everything we discussed.”
His words stung because they were true.
My jaw tightened, muscles twitching. “You think I don’t know that? The second I touched her I—” I stopped, shaking my head. My wolf growled inside me, restless even now, craving her again. “I couldn’t stop it. Not when she looked at me like that.”
Levi’s eyes burned. “That’s not an excuse. You’re supposed to protect her, not fucking destroy her because you have no self–control.”
I stepped into him, both of us nose to nose, the air between us hot with rage. “Don’t you dare think you understand what it’s like, standing there every night, watching her break, watching her sleep, smelling her skin, washing her body, hearing her call my name in her sleep. You don’t get it.”
“I get enough,” he shot back. “I get that if you keep this up, she won’t survive it. Your beast will eat her alive before we ever fix this, because that’s what it wants.”
I ground my teeth until my jaw ached.
“Look at you.” He pointed at me, his chest rising and falling fast. “Just take a good look at yourself. Do you want her to be like you? You think she can survive it? Your curse? Your torments? You told me you hated the fear in her eyes the day she saw your beast, remember?”

Of course, I remember. How could I ever forget?
Every word he said slammed into me harder than his fist.

“You might not love her but you two made a deal. You’d give her protection and respect while she gives you an heir. But just because she hasn’t given you one yet, doesn’t mean you should be soo careless, Alex. You need an heir, not a freaking immortal bedmate.”
I wanted to deny it, to punch him in the face for even suggesting it—but I couldn’t.
Because what he said made sense.
Silence hung between us, broken only by the sound of my rough breathing.
Finally, I muttered, low, “It won’t happen again.”
Like a child making a promise to his father.
Levi scoffed, eyes narrowing. “You said you’d fix it days ago but look at what you’ve done. You came back marked again. You just went back to square one all because you can’t control that…. thing between your legs.”
I looked away, blood boiling and heat rising. “I’m still in control. Stop making it seem like it has a kind of its own.”
“Doesn’t it?” Levi shot at me, his face twisting in disgust. “I know how lustful your beast can get. You’ve lost this round, Alex, and now I don’t even trust you for the
next.”
I clenched my fists until my nails cut into my palms. “Not this time.”
But even as the words left my mouth, I felt the lie burning my throat.
Because I already wanted her again. I wanted to touch her so badly that I’d been aching all week just by catching her scent or seeing her close.
Levi saw the twitch in my jaw and cursed under his breath. He shoved my shoulder, pacing the room. “You’ll damn us all if you keep going like this. What about the scales? Has it reduced?”

Before I could respond, a knock came sharp against the wood.

We froze. My jaw ached where he’d hit me, but the sound in the hall was worse than his fist.
Before I could answer, the door pushed open wide.
Aquamarine stepped in, smiling like she used to whenever she had something strange to show me, as if last night hadn’t wrecked everything. Her hair was still a mess from sleep, her lips red and bitten. She was glowing with the kind of softness that twisted my chest.
“Alexander,” she said softly, almost shy. “Levi—”
Her eyes darted between us, not noticing the tension. She stepped further inside, holding something behind her back like a surprise, her smile nervous but hopeful.
Her innocent and curious eyes tightened my throat, every instinct clawing to pull her into me. To tell Levi to fuck off. To forget all of it and just keep her.
“I have something important to show you… I traced out some familiar writings in the Book of—”
Instead, my rage snapped.
“What the hell are you doing here?” My voice came out louder than I meant, sharp enough that it echoed through the wide–open door.
Her brows rose up and she looked back at the hall, startled by my tone. She turned back to me, her smile faltering. “Me?–”
“Who else entered here, woman. You think you can walk in here after what you did yesterday?” I cut across her.
Her face drained, but she didn’t speak.
Levi’s eyes flicked to me, tight with warning, but I kept going, every word venom I couldn’t stop.
“Don’t mistake what happened last night for anything more than your role here.”

“My role?” She questioned, her eyes squinting.

“Three months ago you made a promise. I’ve given you enough time to keep it. Yet, all I’ve not only gotten silence but I’ve gotten the chaos you brought with it.”
The silence that followed wasn’t silent at all–murmurs carried in from the hall, guards shifting, servants pausing. They’d heard me. They’d all heard me.
Aquamarine just stood there, eyes wide, lips trembling but shut tight. And for a moment, I wished she’d shout back, wished she’d fight me. But she just stood there with that broken look.
“But-”
“Don’t ‘but‘ me,” I snapped at her. “You’d better pray to the Goddess for divine intervention, Aqua. Or else, that cage would be the least of your nightmares.”
Her pupils dilated as her trembling lips parted slightly.
“Don’t forget, you have thirty minutes before apologising to Fiona. Two weeks before giving me pregnancy news.” I sneered, grabbed her arm and shoved her out of the room. “Now, get out of my sight before I snap your neck.”
She turned, slow and stiff, and walked out. Head hung low and her arms wrapped
around her.
The sound of her footsteps faded, but the weight of my words stayed, crushing, choking.
The murmurs in the hall grew louder until a guard hurriedly pulled the door shut to block the sound. But I knew the words would spread, faster than fire, faster than I could stop them.
This method would be faster.
Levi muttered under his breath, “That was too much. Threatening her with pregnancy? And that snake?”
“I’m not even started yet.” My voice was flat, but inside, my wolf was pacing, howling, clawing to run after her. “It’s three months already, Levi. How long am I supposed to wait for a child?”

Levi stood there, staring like he didn’t recognise me anymore. “How would I
know? But you shouldn’t expect the one who cursed you to make things easy for you.”
I know that.
But hell, I can’t continue to pretend that it’s not getting to me.
