PRIMUS ALEXANDER’S POV
I stared at Aquamarine, taken aback by her question. Send her away? Back to her old pack or wherever my other girls
were?
“Why would you think that?” I asked, trying to sound calm, but my voice betrayed me, coming out sharper than it should.
“What happened to the ladies before me? Don’t they also have children for you,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “Am…. am I just here because my looks intrigue you? My hair, eyes and the scroll. What if I didn’t have all of that?”
A pang of discomfort hit me.
I never realised Gaia’s presence would disturb her soo much. “I never planted my seeds in them. I never formed a bond with them, nor did I intend to.”
Aquamarine’s eyes were on mine and I could see the vulnerability in her eyes. It tugged something deep within me.
I tucked some strands of hair away from her face. “But with you… it’s different. You’re my mate. I want you by my side.
Don’t I need to know my mate’s identity? You’re too good to be true Aquamarine.”
Aquamarine’s eyes relaxed slightly, but I could still see the lack of trust in them. I knew this conversation was far from
over. There were still unanswered questions and I could sense the weight of them bearing down on her.
“So nobody has been crowned your Luna before me?” She asked, sounding soo insecure and wary. “What if another
mistress shows up after Gaia?”
I leaned in, my voice taking on a possessive tone. “You’re my first mate, Aquamarine,” I confessed with a sigh.
I watched Aquamarine’s mouth hang open and then it closed back. I clearly understand her reaction.
“Nobody, aside from you, has been crowned as my Luna. And as for others, Gaia’s story will serve as a warning.”
Aquamarine’s lips curved downwards. “I still don’t want you to kill Gaia. She said-“.
I cut her off, my tone firm. “After everything that happened, you still believe the words from her mouth? She’ll say anything to get what she wants, Aquamarine. Don’t believe anything she tells you.”
I felt her heart racing against my chest. I needed her to trust me again. “If you don’t believe me, you can ask Juliet about the others. She won’t lie to you.”
She bit her swollen lip and tooked down “She offered me safety and peace. For a moment, I believed her,” she murmured.
The weight of her words settled heavily on me. I had promised her the same things, but instead, I had been questioning her appearance and her motives. Thad been too busy chasing scrolls and ancient books when I had the solution to my problems in my hands.
“But she told me to reject you find, Aquamarine said with a sigh.
The veins in my body pulsed soo hard that i froze. A shiver ran down my spine despite the heat. I watched her mouth

move but all I could hear was the echo of her words playing over and over again.
“Primus-”
I couldn’t take it anymore.

I smashed my lips into hers, kissing her feverishly and desperately. Silencing her before she says those words that I never imagined I would hear.
The thought of her rejecting me was unbearable and I knew I had to make things right between us.
God, I’ve been a fool. A bigger fool than The Order.
She began muffling sounds underneath my kiss, and we pulled away, gasping for air. Our bodies shook as I pulled her warm, soft form on top of mine. My arms wrapped her small waist as if she would vanish any moment from now.
After everything I did, she rejected Gaia’s offer? Gaia would have given her a better life. Wealth, protection, power, everything she wanted.
But she gave it up, just because of me.
And me?
I was the one who left her. I made her face this nightmare alone,
“I’m sorry,” my voice shook as I cupped her face. “I’m sorry for putting you in danger. I was soo invested in your identity that I didn’t prioritise your safety.”
“I got too excited. Too carried away and I ignored your complaints.”
Aquamarine’s white eyes and mouth widened in surprise. “Primus, you-”
“It’s my fault,” I interrupted, my voice cracked with soo much regret that my throat hurt. “I thought Gaia wouldn’t kill you. A part of me thought that there was still an ounce of kindness left in her. But I was blind to her true nature.”
Aquamarine’s eyes relaxed as she leaned into my touch. Her face melted into my hand as she spoke calmly. “I understand.
But I won’t accept that. Never.
“No, you don’t,” I spoke in a strained tone, “You don’t know how scary it was for me seeing you all battered up by the person I told you not to bother about. I can’t even explain the way I felt when I saw you sealed in that sinking tree”
I released a hot breath and closed my eyes. “Clueless, angry, guilty-
1 felt Aquamarine’s lips against mine. “Tunderstand,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
I wrapped my arms around her, holding her close as we kissed again. But as we broke apart for air, I looked into Aquamarine’s eyes.

“I thought I’d really die last night,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “I thought I wouldn’t get to see Kath, Juliet… or you again.” Her eyes welled up with tears as she continued, “I…. I felt soo scared…. soo weak that all I could do was cry and pray you’d show up.”
Her voice broke as she added, “I was praying that, maybe, just maybe, you would storm in to save me. Just like you did the first time we met in my pack.”
“I’m here now, Aqua. I’ll never leave your side again.” I kissed her forehead and her hand. “I won’t risk losing you.”
Aquamarine grinned as she gazed at me. I smiled back as I gently stroked her hair. “Are you still feeling pain in your
head?” I asked.
“Not really,” she replied. “Although, I just feel the most pain in my stomach and head,” she replied.
Fear gripped me and I turned to the door. “Guards! Send for Jul-”
