Chapter 61
BREEDER AQUAMARINE’S POV
Footsteps again. Fast this time.
My eyes widened in shock. Levi had returned but with the drawer in his hands. Take the book,” he mumbled.
I looked at him confused and scared. “Why did he have to bring the drawer here? Levi, the Primus would notice. Does he know that you’re here?”
But he just waved it off, “Don’t be scared of him. I’ll take the blame. Just show me what you have to
But I did as he asked, my hands shaking as opened the cov
he cover. A piece of paper slipped out, and I showed it to Lev.
But then I remembered he can’t read and neither can I. I can’t even say it out loud to him. I sighed in frustration. How could I convey the information to him?
Levi eyed the paper for a while before looking at me, “Did the person give it to you? is the person from this pack?”
י
“Yes, I instantly felt a sharp stab in my chest and I jerked back, wincing in pain.
“Luna? Are you sure you’re ok?” Levi asked, voice low and his brows creasing slightly as his hands rubbed on my back. “Why are you reacting like this?”
I nodded but deep down, I knew I had more coming “it’s fine, I’m just weak,” I sighed, taking in deep breaths, trying to ignore the pain.
My mind raced, before an idea suddenly popped up in my head. A way to tell him
“I–I was told to prepare a meal” I stammered, breathing heavily then paused to see if I would feel pain. But none came, so I continued. “Well, three square meals.”
I reached up, yanked a lock of my tangled hair out, and shoved it through the bars. Tve…… served breakfast.”
Levi stared at me confused. Then after a while, he nodded like he understood me. I wished he really did because I had no other way of telling him.
“Do you have something sharp, like a knife?” I asked, holding put my hand.
Levi hesitated before he handed me a dagger
I slit my wrist and let the blood flow into the vial.
“Wait–what are you doing? Levi whispered harshly,
*Served lunch.” I nodded, handing him back the black vile. “The Primus gave me a pair of this perfume weeks ago. It might help find the person,” I said, staring deep into his green eyes. “I couldn’t give dinner because it was collected from me.”
“Collected?” His brows creased again and he stared at me confused then his eyes went wide. “Was it the… food we saw you with?”
I bit on my lip but didn’t say anything. “But…“I paused, “the hungry person…. requested for…. the devil’s food. Not mine and I did as asked.”
Levi’s eyes went wide and he didn’t even blink. I felt his aura shit a little, as if sensing a threat. But I was glad, because it meant he understood everything Isaid.
I hoped.
“Who is eating them?” Levi’s voice went soo cold that I almost shivered.
I shook my head. “I can’t say more than that Levi.”
He crouched again, more serious now. “Do you want Katherine to die?
Tears burned my eyes as I shook my head.
“Alexander and the Order are not planning to let this slide, Luna,” he warned. “Only your words can save both of you”
A bitter smile spread across my lips. No, it would kill both of us.
Levi’s jaw clenched. “It’s been four days since you stepped outside. Do you want to continue staying in this cage? You look starved and sick, Luna,” his tone suddenly went harsh, like he was scolding me.
I looked away, my gaze drifting to the silver bars surrounding me. I felt tiny.
I’ve only fed on raw meat and half a cup of water per day.
“Why can’t you command him to listen to you? Why didn’t you mindlink me to save you from this hell? Why are you letting yourself suffer?” he growled.
I sighed, “I don’t know how to. Even if I do it again, the Primus would be angrier.”
Levi locked away from me.
“But I don’t want to disrespect him even though he treats me like this,” added, my words hanging in the air, “it would only prove to him that he was right. That I’m truly here to take over his men and his pack,” explained, my voice barely above a whisper
“Luna,” he whispered softly.
1 shook my head, my eyes welling up with tears. “Please don’t call me that, Levi,” I begged. “I’m just the Primus’s breader. I was never supposed to be the
Luna.”
Levi groaned loudly before speaking. “No, the Moon Goddess chose you for a reason. You’re the key to br-
I cut him off with a low chuckle. “I thought she did the same too. I thought things would be different. I thought I’d start my life over again and it would be slightly better. But I was wrong.”
My eyes went to my hands. All bruised since the day I was caught. Since the time i was in his workshop, working tirelessly for hours
Levi opened his mouth to speak but I stopped him with a raised hand.
“I’m only here to give him an heir. Nothing more, nothing less. And when I’m done, be leaving,” I said with a nod
mell her scent of him every night, But I couldn’t blame him, I was the one who made the mistake in the first place.
I know he’s seeing someone. I smelli
None of us spoke for a while. I looked away from him too. Seconds passed and we just sat there, but I could feel his gaze on me
“With what I’ve given you, you should be able to do something I finally broke the silence. “The Primus might be back soon and I don’t want him to see you here.
Levi examined the vile and sniffed it. “Yes, but it won’t be easy. If there is a way to track the person, then it would have been better
“Dirt, wet grass and something strong, I mumbled, trying to remember what she smelled like. “Like acid and alcohol,”
“But what’s the reason you can’t say the name?” he asked, frustration evident in his tone.
I met his eyes. Then i slit my palm and held it out.
He stared at my bleeding hand. Then, just when i thought he’d refuse, he drew his dagger and cut his palm but before his hand pressed it to mine, withdrew it. Hoping he’d understand why can’t say anything
did this before I gathered the food iters, I whispered fast
Then his eyes widened. He drew back sharply, voice shaking. “Apact?” he whispered. “Luna, how long do you have?”
“I don’t know,” I said. “I–I didn’t know it would go this far.” My voice was barely audible. “I thought it would be something small. Something could
manage.
But deep down…I did.
I was going to o die. Very soon.
