Chapter 70
PRIMUS ALEXANDER’S POV
Terran’s voice was like silk over steel. Polished, pleasant, and cold.
He stood just beyond the threshold, wearing that stupid smile bike he already owned the place.
He stopped further into the room without permission, and I should’ve ripped his throat out. But I didn’t move.
Aquamarine was watching him, confused and shaken, but then something strange happened,
Her posture leaned forward slightly–barely noticeable, but I caught it. Her eyes darkened, lips parted.
Drawn to him.
My jaw clenched. My hands itched to shift.
He noticed too. Of course he did.
“You’re already losing her,” he said lightly, his gaze flicking toward me. “She’s more one of us than yours.”
Aquamarine instantly went rigid. I could see it from the way her fingers gripped the edge of the table.
From the way her breathing faltered. Her scent had changed too. It was sharp and earthy, yet it was tinged with fear.
And I could tell ferran could sense it.
“You’re not welcome here,” I spat.
He raised both hands. ” I didn’t come for your welcome. I was… called, you could say. When the roots cry, I hear it. When my sister fe, I saw it through her dying eyes.”
I grit my teeth
So what?
He was a spirit of nature. A wandering step prince with vines in his veins and thorns behind his tongue. That explained how he entered the heart of my territory without triggering the Syntagmas
Terran turned his gaze to Aquamarine again. “You look pale,” he said softly. “Is it guilt? Or grief?
She didn’t answer.
I stepped between them, my shoulder nearly brushing hers. My wolf was already circling inside me, low and coiled.
“Get to the point,” Alexander said, his voice low. “Say what you came to say and leave.”
Terran tilted his head. “So hostile. I expected more grace from the man who took our kingdom’s jewel into his bed.”
I didn’t move. Didn’t blink,
He stopped beside a chair and ran his fingers along its edge, trailing slowly. The vines at his wrist pulsed once–alive. “I’ve come to collect what belongs
to us.
Aquamarine looked up at him sharply now, her lips parted, but no sound came out. Her pulse thrummed so loud i could hear it
Terran turned toward me again. “Gaia was a fool, yes. But her death leha debt. And the land? It keeps score.

He dropped something onto the table with a soft clink. A twisted piece of vine–dry and blackened. Perhaps a relic from Gala’s body.
“know you’ve both been seeing signs of my coming,” he said, eyeing both of us slowly.
Both
Aquamarine made a choking noise and stood abruptly.
I pushed her gently behind me.
Terran continued, unfazed. “I’m not here to start a wai, Alexander. Not yet. I’m here for the one who took Gaia’s last breath.”
His eyes met Aquamarine‘
“I didn’t mean to kill her,” Aquamarine whispered, almost to hersell
He turned his eyes to her. Cold. Unmoving. “Then you must replace her by my side. Come with me willingly, Luna… or next time, I won’t come alone.”
bared my teeth. “You lay a finger on her and I’ll end your entire species.”
He smirked. “Then I suppose we’re already past negotiations.”
With a low bow, mocking, he turned on his heel.
“The earth knows. The sky knows. And soon, the whole pack will too.” But just before he crossed the threshold, he said, without looking back:
“Don’t think hiding her in these walls will stop me. Or worse, your barbaric men.”
Then he vanished down the corridor, leaving the scent of wilted herbs in his wake.
Terran hadn’t shown us his power. Not fully. Not even a hundred years ago when he and Gaia fought for the throne.
I looked toward the guards posted at the end of the hall
“Double patrols. No one gets in without my scent,” I barked,
They b
y bowed instantly.
I watched the blackened vine still resting on the table. It pulsed once then curled inward, like it was still alive,
I picked it up and put it into my pocket.
Aquamarine eyes were distant and trembling
She took a shaky breath. Then another.
Then she started to panic.
Her hands flew to her neck as she backed away from the table, breath coming faster, sharper
“Aquamarine”
“He’s going to come back,” she said, her voice rising. “He’s going to come back for me–he’s going to
“Stop,” I said,
“N–No, you don’t understand. H–He’s going to come back Just like he did in my dreams,” she stammered.
“Enough.“snapped and she flinched.

I didn’t reach for her.
I wouldn’t. Not now. That softness–it would make her woak.
I kept my tone level. “It is just your first kill. You panicking helps no one. Sit down. Breathe.”
Her knees buckled slightly and she gripped the chair, but didn’t sit.
“You did that only for survival. It’s either you kill or get killed,” I said. “That’s how life is and that’s how it will continue to be so you better get used to it and not feel guilty.”
We were both silent. But I couldn’t help but wonder what exactly Terran meant. How was she seeing signs of his coming? How did Gala’s death link Aquamarine to Terran? How long has she been able to see him in his dreams and who else did she see?
Then a sound rose up from outside. Faint. A murmur, almost like a chant
I turned my head toward the corridor.
Aquamarine looked up at me. “What’s that?”
She was already walking,
I followed.
We reached the long corridor that led to the eastern side of the castle, where tall windows overlooked the pack’s townsquare. But today, we weren’t met with the usual order.
We were met with noise.
Dozens of voices Chanting. Pleading.
Aquamarine gasped as we stepped onto the high balcony.
A man. Stood at the centre of the town square. His single eye was wide and his golden tooth glinted against the scorching sun.
Drunken Moos40.
His voice rang out like a prayer and a curse.
“Gods of our land, Gods of our land! Do not allow this calamity to befall us!”
