I was a bit surprised at how affectionate it was towards Nick.
“I get it! I get it!” Norman glared at us with bloodshot eyes. He flung the little dragon cub in his hand away. He looked so vicious that it seemed he’d attack our family any second.
“It’s you! You switched my child secretly!”

I gave birth to the supreme golden drag…

The discarded black dragonet lay there, on the verge of death. Sally crawled over, sobbing uncontrollably, and gently picked it
- up.
Just then, Nick stepped in front of me, his expression grave as he asked, “Your child?”
“Damn right it’s my child! Only I, the Golden Dragon, could have a kid like this. And you? You’re just a lousy Black Dragon!” Norman retorted, his voice full of arrogance.
I shot back without hesitation, “Who the hell do you think is lousy? Who’s the real Black Dragon here? Have you gone so nuts pretending to be a Golden Dragon that you actually believe it?”
Standing there in front of me, Nick gave me an unshakable sense of confidence. Even though my voice wasn’t booming, it carried clearly to everyone around.
Everyone was stunned and confused at my words. Their eyes all turned to Norman, full of suspicion.
Norman snapped, “Megan, you’re talking nonsense!”
But I pressed on. “Sally paints your black scales gold every night, right?”
I used to do that in my past life.

Sally let out a heart–rending wail, “I told you it wouldn’t work! Norman, you lied to me!”
Emma rushed over and hugged her tightly, her eyes full of pity.
“All along, you knew! You knew everything!” Norman wast almost going crazy.
He gathered all his inner strength and aimed a powerful palm strike at the baby dragon in my arms.
Nick moved like lightning and blocked the strike with his palm.
“No way! How could a Black Dragon like you block my attack?” Norman stared at his own palm in disbelief.
He’d spent years studying all kinds of secret techniques, and his inner strength was as strong as a Yellow Dragon’s.
At that moment, Nick transformed into his dragon form. With a long, earth–shaking roar, as he unfurled his dragon body, the black scales gradually faded, replaced by a brilliant golden glow.
So, this was his true self! Nick was the Golden Dragon that day! He’d been by my side all this time.
“The Golden Dragon from Elysian Peak!” The elder’s voice trembled in my ear.

Chapter 10
Nick’s body writhed, his well–defined muscles rippling with
power.
His long tail, like a massive steel whip, casually flicked and shattered the surrounding boulders, a clear provocation to Norman.
Norman also transformed into a dragon, but not the fake Golden Dragon he’d been pretending to be. Instead, it was a huge,
menacing Black Dragon.
“Wow! He really is a Black Dragon!” someone exclaimed.
The golden dragon and the black dragon took to the sky, their bodies entwined in a fierce battle.
“Mommy, I’m scared,” the little one in my arms whimpered, tears welling up in its eyes.
I hugged it tightly, comforting it while nervously watching the two dragons fight.
In less than 15 minutes, Norman’s dragon body started to plummet. For a moment, it was like a replay of my past life, but this time, he was the only one falling.
He turned his head to look at me, mumbling something inaudible.
“Useless. A Black Dragon can’t curse,” I sneered.

I watched as he closed his eyes in despair and fell into the Mystical Cliff.

Finally, the grudges from my past life were settled. It was all his own fault for being so evil.
“I never thought it would turn out like this,” Ryan said, wiping his tears with his sleeve.
Then he took Emma and Sally and flew away.
“I was such a fool to admire him,” someone sighed.
“Ha! I won the bet. Pay up!”
